Chapter 401

401 I didn’t expect to teach unique people

Lilith blushed when Maira attentively stared at her as if it was a show. Lilith lightly shook her head, closed her eyes, and tried to imagine being in a serene place.

“A soothing presence lights the torches of the heavens. Head my plea as I request Divine Blessing.” Lilith chanted.

A faint golden halo hovered above her head, and six rays of light extended from her back. The six light rays moved in the air as if the wind affected their ethereal form. Lilith looked like an overweight angel all of a sudden.

Maria opened her eyes wide while her mouth couldn’t utter a single word at the bewildering sight before her. Maria was baffled even after reading all of Marquis Darwin Griffionheart’s private book collection.

“The flow of time passes and life ages, help us restore a little of what we lost, Divine Blessing Minor Regen.” Lilith used all the six wing-like rays of light to enhance and convert Minor Regen into a buff.

“Thank you, sister, but I have to keep getting dirty... I mean, fix the ground.” Lupa said while her body was faintly glowing golden. She turned around and swiftly left.

“As you now saw, Lilith is a healer. Furthermore, she was fortunate to awaken a trait that can increase the potency of her healing once per day from what we experimented with.” Vincent explained.

“Can... can we postpone today?... I need to rest my mind a bit.” Maria massaged her temple after all of this gave her a headache.

Maria looked mentally exhausted from the two impactful surprises she never expected to find. Out of the people she had to tutor, two of them were so rare to meet individually that it was like finding a small flower in a vast tall wild grass field.

.....

“But what about Ester? Will she be in danger if she keeps meditating with the form she showed you?” Vincent worriedly asked.

“There isn’t much information regarding Sigil Mages because they don’t want to die from casting harmful spells. Some turn to Glyph Magic, but the book I was asked to find for you shouldn’t be too helpful. You know, the bag with books that old guy gave you after taking your attendance.”

Maria revealed how it was her who found the book meant for Ester.

“Normally, once the mana changes its nature to become a part of the individual, there would be resistance and rejection. That is why the best effects come in a calm and peaceful state of mind. In the state of acceptance and cohabitation.”

Maria took out her card and looked at Ester. It appeared she wanted to go as soon as possible.

“Ester, I sensed how once the mana changed its nature to become a part of you, the danger was nullified instead of reduced as how it would normally happen. I think that this is why the previous king of the Berlucia Kingdom was an S Ranker.”

“I am glad I can practice without worrying everyone again. I can’t almost lose my life again.” Ester was so happy she could train her heart’s content without any danger. Furthermore, she was happy to have a strong mage as their tutor.

“Ester, could I request you to let me keep track of your progress?” Maria asked. She warmly smiled for the first time.

“Common people shouldn’t suffer because of magic or insufficient knowledge. I want to make a book and teach orphanages about magic one day.” Maria continued while showing how those born as nobles weren’t on the list to be guided. The kind heart that wanted to help others was still hidden somewhere in her cold personality.

“Okay.” Ester agreed.

“Great. I already have enough information about Mana Body, but a Sigil Mage with self-made immunity is a one in an unimaginable possibility to study closely.” Maira glinted with curiosity in her eyes. It appeared she ended up being Ester’s personal tutor at this rate.

“Could you tell me about Mana Body?” Vincent became curious about the trait he acquired after Ester reached fifty percent Soul Synch with him. He could see the description whenever her wanted, but a lot of the knowledge could be attained by knowing what a success or failure was.

“Mana Body protects us from exploding.” Maria looked at Vincent and continued, “Do you remember how I mentioned I wanted to escape? I later learned how I wasn’t old nor powerful enough to burst my hand and escape.”

“I was going to die that day, but let’s stop this discussion for now. I need to rest and read a few books. I also need to ask what else my damn teacher is hiding from me.” Maira massaged her temple and was about to leave when Iris raised her hand and said nervously, “I can make a plant grow...”

[What? Is Iris about to tell her...]

“I am a Druid. I am sorry for lying to you, kind human, but I also want to grow stronger. I want to protect my family.” Iris decided to say with the wish to receive training and guidance.

Maria took a step back and almost forgot to breathe. *Gasp* She looked at Vincent and understood why Darwin looked at Vincent as if he was a hen that lays golden eggs. All women he chose to be his wives were extraordinary.

However, before Maria was about to wonder if Lupa was also a special woman, she shook her head to stop thinking about this subject and leave. She raised her card. “I need to go. See you tomorrow. Go Academy.”

Maria’s body became engulfed in light, and she disappeared a moment later.

Vincent, Ester, and Lilith stared at Iris when the light faded. They couldn’t believe she would reveal her class.

“W-why are you all looking at me like that?... s-she found out the classes of my sisters so I... I thought it was safe to tell her...” Iris said nervously. Because of the gazes landing on her, she started to believe she made a dangerous blunder.

[I think it should be safe if Maria is under constant watch from Darwin. Furthermore, Maria didn’t sigh, and she explained while talking more friendly than usual.]

[I guess we left her an impactful impression, hehe.]

‘Kazumi is right. What was said can not be undone. I hope Darwin and Maira keep Iris’s class a secret.’ Vincent thought.

“Iris, it is nice to see you try to join a conversation. As for the subject of the conversation, we told Maria two secrets.” Vincent winked at Iris and continued, “One more should not matter, right?.”

“Yes!” Iris became happy she didn’t bring unnecessary trouble. Or so she thought.

Later that day, Darwin would have a pissed-off person enter his office and angrily shout for not being told what kind of family the Lionhearts are and how impactful the surprise was upon finding out.

“I was going to check the mail since we didn’t go yesterday. Lilith, do you want to come?” Vincent asked.

“Okay. I will come.” Lilith replied with a smile. She wanted to see what mail had arrived yesterday, but she was too preoccupied with worry to get the mail.

“Give Sakura my regards.” Said Ester while taking a meditation pose. She wanted to continue training, it appeared.

“Ask if Olive and Lian are happy too.” Iris requested.

Vincent nodded. He and Lilith left and later arrived in the arrival hall.

“Vincent, I am nervous.” Lilith held Vincent’s hand tightly after seeing dozens upon dozens of students chatting in groups.

“Let’s go, honey. ” Vincent smirked at the cute Lilith nervously following behind him, hand in hand. It was becoming challenging to resist grinning after noticing many students looking at them with a frown.

Later, they arrived at the mailroom. They received and read the letters.

Maid Xu wore how everyone was doing great, and Zefine was slowly adapting to the life of a maid. Zefine needed some more time to recover completely. This information was confirmed after Zefine’s healthy condition Promised Quest wasn’t completed.

Maid Xu also added how Zefine might need more time to recover after assigning Zefine as the barn manager. Zefine requested to work with animals because her family used to raise chickens and pigs as a source of income.

Maid Xu accepted on the condition that Zefine must never be alone. She is still recovering. Furthermore, learning to live with one arm will take time to get used to.

Maid Xu continued to mention how the builders and the animals arrived at the same time, which, after reading the letter one day later, it was two days ago.

After builders quickly built a small barn beside the stables and closed a small area with wooden fences. Leonis sent the animals to their residence on the same day. He probably didn’t have a place to keep them, and the only young people in the mansion were the five hobgoblins.

Strangely Maid Xu mentioned how there was a problem with Sakura and that Vincent needed to have a talk with her. She wrote how Sakura sometimes sleeps in the workshop after taking a bed with her.

Vincent and Kazumi had an inkling Sakura has the personality of a perfectionist, but it might be worse than they expected.

At the end of the letter, Maid Xu wrote how Marquis Byron Sunrise has agreed to meet on Sunday morning.

Lilith closed her letter and placed it in her pocket. She noticed Vincent curiously peeking at her.

“Ahem. My parents wished me well, and my father wrote many... a sentence or two to ask if I am being treated well by my husband and the other wives.” She said with a light blush.
