Chapter 721 - 721 We arrived. Can we see you at last?

721 We arrived. Can we see you at last?

“The Duchess told me how we need to escort the survivors found in our current destination back to the city and book them. As for the survivors, that is a detail I will explain soon.”

“As for the big question. Is there any more hostile being nearby? Duchess Karta Milloween informed me that the wolves were the only hostile beings in our vicinity and in the path we had to take.”

The leading royal mage looked in the direction he was told to head in and continued, “We need to pass a large section of clusters of trees. Entering is easy, the Duchess told me, but turning around will cause us to misjudge the direction we need to head to.”

“Let’s move out.” He ordered.

“Don’t leave us hanging. Who are the survivors the Duchess talked about?” One of the royal mages close to the leading royal mage questioned curiously.

*Sigh* The leading royal mage sighed as if he didn’t want to reveal the next bit of information. He gently shook his head and clicked his tongue.

“Long story short, a large fight caused a large explosion. Apparently, the cause was more than anyone here could fathom.”

“A large collective force of a large Cefeye tribe and a couple of dozen Dullahans were engaged with an undead demonic beast of the bear type. The Duchess mentioned Baron Vincent Lionheart, the man who will compete in the judgment by combat was nearby and fought with them.”

“One moment!” One of the royal mages exclaimed. “What is with the undead part? Aren’t the undead the creation of Necromancers? I didn’t hear anything about a Necromancer nearby, nor in the city for that matter.”

.....

“I heard we have no Necromancers in the city, and there are currently no Necromancers registered as adventurers as well.” One of the royal soldiers said.

The leading royal mage looked at all the royal mages, royal soldiers, soldiers, and medics. He frowned and said in an authoritative tone, “I remember everyone who is present here, so do not think about revealing what I am about to say. Do I have a yes?”

One after the other, all the people in front of the leading royal mage raised their hands and swore they did not see or hear anything out of the ordinary from the moment they left and returned to the city.

The leading royal mage nodded. The people in front of him confirmed by words they were not going to say a word about what they saw or heard.

“The Duchess believes this could be the work of the mysterious criminal research organization called The Seers Of Rebirth.” The leading royal mage revealed, causing everyone to understand why they should keep their mouths shut. Such information was most definitely going to cause chaos.

The leading royal mage turned around. “Grab your things. We need to leave and maybe arrive a few hours after noon.”

*About four hours passed*

A group of six women in the sky arrived at the center of a wide yet not-too-deep crater with multiple different levels of holes. They looked below them, and they could see five large shelters. Beside the building were many people and creatures gathering to look at the sky.

“Girls. We arrived, but much slower than when I moved alone.” Karta moved her wand, and the winds changed direction.

While they descended, Karta questioned when the five women felt relieved to arrive and visit Vincent, “Duke Lucas told me Vincent could do this because he had given him a lot of fire ball scrolls. But is that the truth?”

“My mate is very strong. He does not need scroll thingies or whatever they are called.” Lupa stated without thinking like usual.

Ester, Iris, and Lilith became nervous. On the other hand, Jun Ye Rim acted casually.

“Why do you need to know? What happened happened. Vincent isn’t a mage, but his special storage could store a building.” Ju Ye Rim shrugged her shoulders. “Who knows what strange things he has inside his storage.”

Ester, Iris, and Lilith became astonished to hear Jun Ye Rim defending Vincent while acting as if the notion of Vincent being able to cast spells was a fantasy. They wanted to give her a thumbs up secretly, but the keen Karta would notice their action.

“Strange things?” Lupa complained.

*Gulp* Ester, Iris, and Lilith worried Lupa was going to make Jun Ye Rim’s words invalid. However, they couldn’t control their bodies. They couldn’t cover Lupa’s mouth.

Karta looked keenly at Lupa. “I am also wondering about that myself. Care to elaborate?” She questioned Lupa.

“My mate can store warm tasty meat, and it will always stay warm. I can eat cooked food whenever I want. That is how great my mate is...” *Grumble* Lupa proudly said before her stomach interrupted her. Thinking about Vincent made her hungry.

Karta gently shook her head out of disappointment, while Jun Ye Rim didn’t care to continue talking.

Ester, Iris, and Lilith could not hold themselves from giggling at the hungry wolf girl. They even thought Lupa might tell Vincent to feed her the moment she saw him.

Their feet shortly touched the ground. They were quickly surrounded by many Cefeye eyeing their clothes and a couple of Dullahans trying to find out who the new people were.

Ester, Lupa, Iris, Lilith, and Jun Ye Rim moved their head and took a look at their surroundings up close.

They could see how difficult of a fight Vincent had to fight with the assistance of a woman Karta said was his new woman.

They felt remorseful for letting Vincent leave the city alone. They believed if he had taken a few people with him, the current situation would’ve been different, yet they didn’t know by how much based on the destruction Vincent caused to kill his enemy.

“I know what might be in your minds, girls. I also thought my eyes were playing games on this old gal. I thought I was dreaming a nightmare, yet it was as real as it gets. There were only survivors left because all the corpses were burnt to a crisp.” Said Karta while trying to help the five beside her to take the situation as it was instead of worrying about unnecessary matters.

Watching from afar was different than watching from up close and seeing the expressions on the survivors’ faces.

They could feel the area was warm, as if the summer had recently ended and it was starting to become colder. They could see the land was black, and ash instead of dirt could be seen.

Iris was the most terrified about Vincent than the rest. Tears welled in her eyes as she saw the land become void of any vegetation.

Iris had seen Vincent use fire, but nothing to this level. She started to worry about Zero after hearing it went to eat wild seeds.

A Dullahan moved to the front and approached the six women. He looked at Ester as she wore damaged clothes in the winter cold.

“Human warrioress, are you the clan leader’s family from the city?” He asked.

“I heard Vincent became your clan leader. That means yes. I am his wife. ” Ester answered.

Lupa raised her hand. “Me too.”

Lilith felt nervous, yet the thought of Vincent made her overlook the dozens upon dozens of eyes looking at her. “Me three.” She said with a slightly nervous voice.

“Me four...” Iris shyly said.

“...” Jun Ye Rim didn’t speak up, yet her cheeks lightly blushed at the thought of saying me five.

The Dullahan looked attentively at Ester, Lupa, Iris, and Lilith. The Dullahans who heard their confirmation also looked at the four women.

“Is there a problem?” Karta asked.

The Dullahan shook his head. “Our clan wanted to meet with the Lionheart family. We wanted to know who the people who will give us a place to stay and food to eat will be.”

Ester, Iris, and Lilith froze from shock. They didn’t know what Vincent had planned, but the Emerald Lionheart Mansion did not have enough space to fit more than thirty Dullahans.

“Human.”

“Clothes.”

“Nice.”

The Cefeye said while looking at Ester’s damaged clothes.

“Ahem.” Karta cleared her throat to gather attention on her. “How about I lead you, girls, to your man?”

After watching them nod, Karta requested the Cefeye and the Dullahans to make way. After they made a path, Karta moved forward, and the five women followed her.

“Our clan leader likes strong women. The frail-looking woman with a strong gaze and damaged clothes must have fought a proud battle.”

“Yeah. That beastwoman looked strong. I could see her take notice of everything around her.”

“What about the other two? They didn’t look like warriors.”

“Our clan chieftain will not lose to them.”

“Yeah! Our clan chieftain will win against those four women, no questions asked.”

One after the other, the Dullahans passed comments about Awa and how Ester, Lupa, Iris, and Lilith could not compete with her. They could not beat the legendary Dullahan and become Vincent’s, top woman, they believed.

However, the commenting Dullahans didn’t know about one important detail. Lupa was overhearing all their comments.

Her eyes flared with the will to fight, and her hunger for food became a hunger for a good fight. Lupa even forgot she was exhausted, and that she currently could not manage to control Primal Insight as she desired.

Karta approached one of the shelterers. “I have returned. Hibiscus, can you take a look at the new patients?”

Hibiscus exited the shelter. She saw five new women standing beside her. Two of which were not completely healed.
