CH 1

“Name.”

“Ryan.”

“Age.”

“Seventeen.”

“Home address.”

“127th Southwest Street, Fourth District.”

The housekeeper in charge of the interrogation adjusted his glasses. As he gazed at the shy teenager who had his head on the ground, the housekeeper ordered without emotion, “Raise your head.”

The youth followed the instruction and quickly looked up. He possessed a stunning face. His brows and eyes were gentler than streams, and two lip petals as plump as fresh flowers further enchanted his elf-like features. The light brown hair bang covered his forehead, and the amber eyes were like those of a fawn, giving off a heart-throbbing beauty.

The boy was even better looking than in the photo.

Even though the housekeeper had seen countless beautiful and soft omegas sent to the mansion, he had to admit that the boy before him was the most outstanding looking one.

This one might succeed in capturing the Marshal’s eyes.

The housekeeper looked at his list and marked a check. “Pass, next.”

Ryan immediately showed a bright smile and was brought to the living room by a docile servant.

Several omegas who passed the identification check have gathered here, all waiting for the Marshal’s summons.

At first, they were talking in pairs or triads, but the moment they saw Ryan come in, they all stopped.

Ryan felt subtle hostility from the silence. His appearance gave them a sense of threat.

He could feel several eyes on him, exploring, jealous, repellent, all sharp as a knife.

But it did not affect him.

Their purposes were different from his, after all.

Ryan sat quietly on the sofa, his eyes cast downward, hiding the chill in them.

He did not come to compete with these omegas. He came to search for evidence of Chu Yuwen’s working with the Federation.

If it were not for the Marshal’s well-fortified house, he would have infiltrated using normal means. The only breach was to mix with this group of omegas given to Chu Yuwen as a gift, otherwise, there was no way he would have used the chemical agent to make himself look like this.

When others saw that Ryan kept to himself, staying low-key and silent, they soon lost interest.

What was so good about being beautiful? He was nothing but a wooden mannequin that Sir Marshal would not set his eyes on.

The liveliness was back in the living room.

“Do you think the Lord Marshal will pick one of us?”

“Very little hope. Not a single omega sent to the Marshal’s mansion stayed before…”

“Nevermind that. As long as I can see Lord Marshal with my own eyes, I can die without regret!”

The hopeful omegas spoke excitedly, for they completely put Chu Yuwen on a pedestal.

“Can we explore upstairs?” A curious omega asked.

“I would never dare. The housekeeper told us to wait in the living room. I do not want to get kicked out.”

“But why did he get to go up?” The same omega pointed in the direction Ryan used to sit.

“Who are you talking about? There is no one there.” Another omega questioned, “You must be remembering wrong.”

There was no sign of anyone on the single sofa.

“Eh?” Scratching his head in a loss, the omega said, “I was sure someone was sitting there. I must have got it wrong.”

Second floor.

Ryan—Yan Weiliang, to be more specific, searched each room calmly as the gentle and harmless appearance completely faded from his face. He avoided guards and servants in the hallway, moving with light and athletic movements.

As an alpha possessing SSS mental power, even if his strength was greatly weakened by the chemical agent, it was still a piece of cake to sway these omegas’ memories.

But he still did not dare to use too much for fear of being discovered by the master of the mansion.

He was also tight on time.

Generally, the study would be the place where important secrets lie, so Yan Weiliang’s goal was very clear.

Unlike other heavily guarded studies, there were no security measures in the range of Chu Yuwen’s study, but there were two prohibitions.

These two prohibitions could eliminate 99.9% of people. Only the top-level individual with both mental power and combat power of triple S level could enter.

He happened to meet this condition.

Although both of his powers were suppressed to B level by the drug, the prohibitions would still recognize his innate level.

Without further delay, he began his search as soon as he entered the study.

Nowadays, technology is so advanced that even an optical computer can instantly receive data from galaxies thousands of light-years away. But it has one drawback, the information converted can easily be intercepted.

The ancient way of exchanging letters is not yet obsolete. The only difference is that the carrier pigeon delivery method is replaced by mechanical birds.

Yan Weiliang received news that Chu Yuwen, the Imperial Marshal of the Empire, had correspondence with the Federation.

The Empire and the Federation have always been at each other’s necks, so Chu Yuwen’s connections with the Federation were undoubtedly evidence of treason.

The Empire of today was divided into three forces: the royal family, the military, and the cabinet. The Empire and the Federation were opposite sides in a dispute. Not to mention the rampaging space pirates and the zerg that were a threat to all mankind.

Chu Yuwen represented the forces of the imperial military. The contacts between the military and the Federation are among the Empire’s interests, as the cabinet would never allow it.

Now that the royal family was on the decline, the Empire was slowly crumbling within. Yan Weiling would not miss any opportunities to secure his position.

Yan Weiliang and Chu Yuwen have long been sworn enemies in court politics. This time, after getting the news, he did not hesitate to go into the tiger’s den for a chance to bring down Chu Yuwen.

The other side’s forces were deep-rooted and could not be uprooted overnight, but at least he could use it to rope the neutral cabinet to the royal family’s side, which would damage their enemy greatly.

He moved swiftly and scanned through the rows of hardcover books on the bookshelf. There was no sign of a letter sandwiched between the pages, and there was no hidden mechanism in the secret compartment.

In the middle of searching, he suddenly felt lightheaded for a moment and felt his vision doubled. He shook his head, and his vision was soon clear.

He disregarded this incident, attributing it to the omegas’ weak physique.

Having been changed by the drug, his body was omega from head to toe. Only by fooling himself could he deceive Chu Yuwen. Yan Weiliang, a born alpha, had always heard how weak omegas were, but he never knew how exhausted he would feel in a short period of walking and sneaking about.

He concentrated on his task at hand, wanting to continue searching, but he heard footsteps outside the study.

“Lord Marshal, Officer Bryan has sent you another batch of omegas. They are waiting in the living room…”

“Send everyone back.” The low, slightly cold voice was exceptionally melodious.

Yan Weiliang was very familiar with the voice—he fought with the owner of this voice in countless wars of words.

Chu Yuwen was here.

Yan Weiliang quickly put the book back in its original place. As he was looking for a place to hide, he stumbled and half knelt on the ground, supporting himself with the desk.

His cheeks flushed as he panted lightly, and his amber eyes turned a shade darker.

He forgot one of this drug’s side effects!

This top-grade chemical agent was recently developed by the pharmaceutical department in secret. It was still in the development phase, so the effect was unstable. It could change a person’s sexual characteristics, pupil, hair color, appearance, pheromone, and even make an alpha have an estrus period like a real omega.

But he did not expect to encounter the worst scenario the first day he took the drug.

It was too late to hide. It was even a struggle for him to walk now. Once an omega started their estrus period, their only options were to take a suppressant or be marked by an alpha.

As he heard the sound of the door opening behind him, he clenched his fists before loosening them, repeating the action.

This fucking sucks.

–

Chu Yuwen was well aware that someone had entered the study before he opened the door.

His prohibitions had been violated.

His dark golden eyes showed disdain. Those who intruded into his study usually overestimated their ability and never received a good death.

When he opened the door and wanted to quickly deal with the uninvited guest, he was stopped in his tracks by the sweet, sticky scent that hit his face.

The whole room was covered in this rich pheromone.

The worst part was, how sweet it was.

Chu Yuwen has two secrets.

First, he has a sweet tooth.

Second, he is immune to all pheromones. Those beautiful omegas were praised by many, but no matter how wonderful their pheromones smelled, whether red wine, mint, or an alluring rose fragrance, he could not smell them.

The rumors about how impotent he was were actually from his inability to smell pheromones. Then again, this label made no difference to him.

This was the first time he smelled a pheromone.

It had a sweet, soft, creamy scent, like a cute cake decorated with strawberries and pudding, with a little scoop of chocolate ice cream added.

It was said that an omega’s pheromone could drive an alpha crazy. Chu Yuwen never believed in that statement and thought it was all due to their lack of self-control. He would never allow himself to be consumed by the beast-like nature that pushed an alpha into acting like a wild beast without reason.

But now…..

This damned amazing smell…..

It was enough to make him abandon his intention of killing.

Chu Yuwen strode over, his matte black military boots clicking on the ground as though the outsoles were made of metal.

In his line of sight, the brown-haired youth was half-kneeling and resting his upper body on the desk. His whole body screamed fragile.

Chu Yuwen squatted down and examined him. “Boy, your name.”

The boy shivered and raised his eyes in panic. His amber eyes were glistening with moisture, and his face was covered with fear.

He shrank back uneasily and whispered, “Ryan.”

What a beautiful face.

Chu Yuwen softened his gaze. “What are you doing here?”

Ryan lowered his eyes and mumbled, “I don’t know, I—Minh.” He bit his lips to muffle his groan, but a moan still spilled out of his clenched teeth.

A breathtaking bright blush dusted over his cheeks.

Omegas in their estrus period will want to jump on and do business with the first alpha they see. His perseverance to this degree was already astonishing.

Chu Yuwen also endured.

Which alpha could resist an omega’s pheromone?

A fucking sweet one on top of that.

“Ryan.” Chu Yuwen effortlessly picked the youngster up. The boy was petite. From a glance, he was just over one meter seven, not even reaching Chu Yuwen’s shoulder.

Ryan could hardly stand. The alpha’s scent made his head spin. He was boneless in Chu Yuwen’s arms. With tears in his eyes, he murmured, “So-sorry, Lord Marshal, please forgive me for my misconduct…”

“I will ask again.” Chu Yuwen stared at him. “Are you one of the omegas that Bryan gave me?”

This was simply an undeniable question. To deny it was to sign his death warrant.

Ryan sniffed and replied in a trembling voice, “Yes, Lord Marshal.”

“Good.” Chu Yuwen smiled as his endurance was at its limit.

“I am going to mark you.”

The author has something to say:

Bring my own advance promotion: King of Underworld Online [Quick Transmigration]

The translator has something to interrupt:

Teo: I am not going to translate the rest of the author’s note. The author is promoting their next work which I don’t think the work even exists. There is only one quick transmigration in the collection and it does not match the synopsis. So there is that.

Continue on to things the translator wants to add…

Welcome to my newest project, one with the rare pairing of alpha x alpha. If you are not following my other projects, I am currently translating another of this author’s work, an Empire as a Betrothal Gift, with a different group (Peach Blossom Codex). So be sure to check it out if you enjoy this work. MinMin, my editor for After I Flopped on My Crush, will be helping me English this. Please shower her with lots of love!

On the side note, for the acronym of this project, both ‘SA’ and ‘Sweet’ are taken, so first I was like, let’s use ‘Alpha’. Then I was like, no, add a ‘S’ to make that ‘AlphaS’ lol because there are two alphas and it can also be seen as ‘Alpha Sweet’. So it worked out.

MinMin: Found a really nice song fo chapter 1~[bgm: didn’t know that I was starving till I tasted you]
