Chapter 7

Chapter 7: Off to a very bad start

What should one expect a drug dealer to look like? In Yi Feng’s mind, they probably dressed in all black, look dishevelled and hang around in dark alleys but that is what an incompetent drug dealer would dress like.

A dealer should be dressed in the normal range which means not too eye-catching but be able to blend in with the crowd if things go south. Now that this man had asked this question to Zi Han couldn’t help but say, “How the fuck am I supposed to know that? I am just here to make a fuckin delivery.” Did he look like he was here to play twenty questions with Dage’s clients?

As he said this his hands weren’t idle. He took out a black case containing the vials. If it weren’t because he was doing this for his mother he wouldn’t even involve himself in this. Yi Feng could read the mood so he stopped staring at that face hidden under the hoodie and input his confirmation code in his light brain.

Soon a ding.... ding sound resounded on Zi Han’s light brain confirming the identity of the recipient.

Annoyed Zi Han shoved the black case into the client’s hand before walking past him to leave. Yi Feng, who wasn’t resigned to the status quo said, “Hey, don’t you want to join me? Things like this are best with company. You can consider it as customer care service.”

But instead of a response, Yi Feng was met with Zi Han’s middle finger as he walked away. Yi Feng’s brow arched as he chuckled lightly. This person was quite interesting. Unfortunately, he couldn’t convince his supplier to keep him company.

Just as he lowered his head and turned to leave he heard the sound of a body tumbling to the ground followed by loud cursing. His steps paused as his back stiffened. He already knew who it was but it was rather unfortunate that he had involved an innocent party.

.....

“Older cousin is really good at using people! So this is why you begged to come along? This was the fresh air you were talking about? Huh?” said a calm yet frosty tone that sent shivers down Yi Feng’s spine.

With a stiff smile he slowly turned around saying, “Cousin...,” but before he could come up with some bullshit about why he was here the black case was harshly knocked out of his hand and fell on the ground with muffled shattering sounds like something inside had broken to pieces.

Soon liquid began to seep through the black bag. Yi Feng watched helplessly as his stash bled all over the ground.

Zi Han who had just been shoved on the ground got up as he cursed the culprit’s entire ancestry. He wasn’t watchful with his language as he said, “The fuck... you son of a bitch.” He wasn’t being paid to be a client’s meat shield nor was he being paid to act as Dr Phil and resolve whatever family issues they were having.

He was just here to deliver and now that he had done that he had nothing to do with either of them. Yi Chen who was just about to push his cousin forward so they could leave suddenly paused his steps and slowly turned around to face the boy who had just cursed his mother. Who was this kid calling a bitch?

At this time Zi Han had also stood up and managed to take a look at the person who had just pushed him. When he saw that face he was stunned for a moment. The young man was sculpted by the finest hands but his personality was shit. How he wished he could smack that arrogance out of him.

It was people like this Zi Han found delight in messing with. So he pushed up his sleeves as he replied, “I called you a.... Son. Of. A. Bitch,” with a taunting smile on his face clearly provoking Yi Chen.

Of course, Yi Chen was no vegan. There was no way he was going to adopt the federation’s philosophy of peaceful resolution when his ancestors solved things by shedding blood.

He took a step forward with his posture intimidating enough that even Yi Feng was scared silly despite the fact that Yi Chen was younger than him. He grabbed his cousin’s arm and said, “Ah-Chen, you can’t,” with a cadence voice that got lower at the end of the sentence.

At that moment Yi Chen gained back a bit of his sanity as he halted his steps with his chest undulating deeply trying to calm his emotions. It was people like this that had cost a lot of military officers their lives. The reason why the state limited the supply of these kinds of drugs was because they were addictive and overuse would result in extensive damage to the mental power of the soldier to the point of exploding into madness or even death.

That plus the fact that Yi Chen had a high temper if pushed hard enough it meant a fight was bound to break out. If it had been anyone else he was at odds with they might have known better and either apologised to Yi Chen or run as fast as they could to save their lives.

But unfortunately the tail he stepped on was Zi Han’s. Zi Han was like a lit matchstick in a room filled with dense fumes. He was known in the neighbourhood as that one guy who wouldn’t let shit go if you provoke him just like a viper.

Even if the odds are against him Zi Han wouldn’t back down. He was the kind that would impulsively lose eight hundred to kill a thousand.

With a mocking smile Zi Han carried on to say, “Yes Ah-Chen, you can’t. Just go home,” repeating the client’s sentence in a deriding tone that would anger anyone who heard it.

Yi Feng who had just tried to save this cute drug dealer’s life stood there dumbfounded with his mouth agape. Who in the federation didn’t know his cousin’s face?

Plenty admired him on Onyx Starnet and would never actively provoke him even if they were wronged by him yet this kid poked at the hornet’s nest on purpose. It was as though he had a death wish. Forget it, he might as well let the kid learn the hard way.

As expected Yi Chen’s anger shot through the roof especially when the kid called him Ah-Chen. He felt goosebumps all over his body as an inexplicable burst of anger boiled over inside of him. In a flash, he appeared in front of Zi Han and kneed him straight into the gut.

Zi Han who hadn’t expected that ruthless attack was struck squarely in his abdomen bearing the brunt of an SS rank’s might. It was as though his intestines were rearranged just by that one strike.

He was in excruciating pain but he could bear it. Staggering with his hand on his abdomen and the veins on his temples and neck bulging he looked like he was in so much agony that he would quit. This meant Yi Chen didn’t expect his leg to be swept.

Though he didn’t expect it he managed to dodge with ease but he had underestimated this kid’s resilience. This meant he didn’t see that kick in his chest coming. Yi Chen staggered a few steps backwards and stared at the footprint left on his shirt with dark eyes.

Seeing this Zi Han couldn’t help but smirk. It seemed this person was a neat freak. This revelation was to his advantage. He wanted to teach this prick a lesson he would never forget.

Grabbing the waste bags from the hotel he tossed them at Yi Chen and as the bags exploded in his face a sneaker emerged within the trash intending to strike his handsome face. Yi Chen was disgusted and felt the urge to heave but he also had great self-control.

As that sneaker approached his face he grasped Zi Han’s ankle and swung his leg away. Before Zi Han could react a punch landed on his face sending him flying before falling on the ground.
