Chapter 113

113 Have you done this before

A pair of ombre blue and white sneakers emerged from the car and stepped on the pavement. A youth with a sweet boy appearance stood under the sun giving off an approachable feeling.

With a lowered head he tapped on his light brain and after fiddling with it for a minute or two the door of the hovercar slowly closed.

At a slow pace, it drove a few feet before an automatic door at the wall of the building opened and the car slid in for parking. Zi Han watched on with interest for a second.

With his hand raised to block the sun, he watched as the black and red luxury car disappeared. “Cool,” he whispered before taking out the nectarine from his pants pocket and biting it.

Recalling he hadn’t messaged Yi Chen yet he left the nectarine in between his teeth and typed something on his light brain. He absentmindedly turned around and bumped into a rock-hard surface.

“Fuck,” he whispered while gently rubbing his forehead. When he looked up he was met by Yi Chen’s handsome face with a slight quirk at the corner of his lips.

Zi Han sunk his teeth into the nectarine and bit off a part of it. Chewing slowly he gently punched Yi Chen’s chest and Yi Chen took a small step backward.

After swallowing the sweet fruit Zi Han spoke in an admonishing tone, “Don’t you fuckin stand behind me next time.”

Yi Chen suppressed a smile as he obediently nodded his head. He wanted to say something earlier but when he saw him standing there watching the hovercar while blocking the sunlight with his hand Yi Chen suddenly had the urge to walk over and embrace Zi Han from behind.

.....

The boy was dressed in a pair of black jogger pants and a simple white t-shirt with two pendants hanging around his neck. He was dressed casually and simply but it enhanced his body frame making everyone who passed him take a second glance.

Before he knew it he was standing behind Zi Han and the sweet scent of his shampoo mixed in with the smell of nectarine brought Yi Chen back to reality. He stopped his hand that was moving towards Zi Han’s waist in time.

He slowly clenched his fists and just watched him for a while waiting for him to turn around. When Zi Han bumped into him he felt a warm spring gushing into his chest. He wanted to place his hand on Zi Han’s back and pull him in for a hug but in the end, he clenched his jaw as his fist tightened to help him keep his sanity. When Zi Han punched his chest he felt a great sense of relief wash over him.

“Okay, I won’t do it again,” said Yi Chen while staring at the partially bitten nectarine in Zi Han’s hand. He immediately retracted his gaze while saying, “Let’s go in.”

The pair walked alongside each other and didn’t notice the patrol drone zooming in on them. The Capital Star fashion district was home to the rich with plenty of luxurious stores with prices starting at five figures.

This five-figure number was to someone an annual income but to the nobles, it was spent in a single sitting dining at the cheapest restaurant in the fashion district.

Lin Ruoxi never took her family to such a place because she felt it was a waste of her wealth.

For one of the richest women in the federation, she was cautious when spending money. She would buy her babies top-tier quality clothes but she haggled with suppliers on Starnet.

She went straight to the source and shook that tree so hard that the managers would get a headache when they hear she was calling. Most of her money was spent on poverty alleviation programs she ran in Capital Star and other planets.

The only thing she never haggled over was food for her family. There she spared no expense. This famous boutique in the fashion district and other locations was the lifeblood of all poverty alleviation programs she ran.

She was a frugal minimalist when it came to spending money on big corporations but she didn’t have a problem milking the rich with her exquisite clothing brands to give back to the poor and help improve the lives of the children in the federation.

Yi Chen had adopted the minimalist type of approach his mother had. The only reason he brought Zi Han here was because his mother’s boutique used all its profits to help change people’s lives. If it weren’t for that he might have ordered something online.

Zi Han who had never been to this ridiculously expensive place was looking around curiously. The high prices were unforgivable but the fashion district was a scene to behold. He was intrigued.

When he entered the boutique he was treated like royalty from the get-go. The employees were especially polite and as soon as they stepped in the doors were closed shut. For the next two hours, they wouldn’t be accepting customers.

Zi Han’s brows arched at this level of professionalism. The employees weren’t even curious. They acted as though it wasn’t strange that Yi Chen closed the boutique doors and brought a boy to shop for girl clothes.

Zi Han was suddenly inquisitive. Had Yi Chen done this before that it didn’t even surprise them anymore? Yi Chen took off his zip-up jacket and sat down in the occasional chair in front of the mirrors while beckoning Zi Han over.

Zi Han sat down with his legs crossed at the knees and asked, “Have you done this before?”

Yi Chen fixed the pendant of his mech while responding, “Done what?”

Zi Han leaned in close with his hand propping up his chin and elaborated his question. “Bring someone over and spoil them?”

Yi Chen chuckled lightly before saying, “Yes..... jealous?”

Hearing this Zi Han smiled amusedly as he sat back straight and took another bite. Soon an elderly woman with the tag written head stylist walked over and ushered Zi Han into the changing room.

Zi Han tossed the half-eaten nectarine to Yi Chen while complaining, “If you picked something ugly for me I won’t let you go.”

“En,” replied Yi Chen with a slight smile on his face. The only other people he brought over here were his siblings under his mother’s urging. Just now when Zi Han asked he deliberately didn’t explain himself. That was because he wanted to see if there were any ripples in Zi Han’s calm eyes.

He was very expectant but when he didn’t get the response he wanted he felt slight disappointment. He was well aware that Zi Han didn’t like him like that but he couldn’t help but be hopeful. Yi Chen shook off this sad feeling and raised his head only to notice the half-eaten nectarine in his hand.
