Chapter 134

134 Early father’s day gift

Thus his rage reached a critical level as he entered the hotel room. Zi Xingxi was sprawled on the bed snoring like a pig while Zi Han was sleeping on the floor having fallen off the couch. The room was a mess with cushions tossed haphazardly on the floor and a few empty bottles of wine miscellaneously tossed on the floor.

The Karaoke playlist was softly playing as it was stuck on repeat and it was a very depressing playlist by the way. In short, these two had fun without him.

“You two! Get up!” he yelled while striding in with Old Lu following behind.

Zi Han mumbled something as he tightened his hold on his pillow but it was suddenly taken away and he was left with nothing to block the light.

“Ah.... but it’s the weekend,” he said in a groggy voice turning over to hide from the light like a vampire.

Zi Feiji walked over to the bed and pulled the quilt waking up Zi Xingxi. “Dad,” she muttered trying to get the quilt back. Her head was throbbing like it was being stabbed by a thousand needles.

She couldn’t hold on to the quilt so she could only sit up pouting with a head of messy hair. “Are you still mad?” she asked while sitting cross-legged on the bed, “We wanted to give you some time to calm down.”

“What do you think? Of course, I am still mad. I waited for you all night,” replied Zi Feiji tossing the quilt on the floor.

Zi Han crawled up from the floor with his head peeking from behind the coffee table. “But you said I shouldn’t come back home,” he said feeling wronged.

.....

“I also told you to stay away from the Yi kid and what happened. You didn’t listen to me then but you chose to listen to me now?... Up, up, up go take a shower. You smell like a brewery,” replied Zi Feiji throwing a fit for no reason.

Zi Han rubbed his sore eyes while complaining, “Ah grandpa, there is no need for personal attacks. You don’t have to be so mean.”

Zi Feiji, “.....”

Zi Han lifted up the sweater he wore last night on top of his cold shoulder top and dry heaved after smelling it. “Okay, you are right. I smell like sour grapes,” he said before getting up.

“Yes, that’s right. You smell like rancid wine and bad decisions now go take a shower,” he said before turning to the main culprit, “Did you let him smoke.”

Zi Xingxi, “...”

How on earth did he figure that out? It was only one puff that’s all. With her eyes squinted she tilted her head sideways and replied, “Noooo.... I did.... not.”

Even a two year old could tell she was lying let alone this old fox who had been in the game for so long. “You two are unbelievable.... and you didn’t even invite me.”

That’s when Zi Xingxi understood why he was so upset. He was angry because he felt left out which happened ever so often. She felt a little bad so she promised, “Today we can do whatever you want. You pick anything and we will do it. You can consider it an early Father’s Day gift.”

“So you guys will do anything I ask?” he asked feeling a little skeptical.

Zi Xingxi rubbed her throbbing head and replied, “Yes.....,” without even asking Zi Han if he was okay with it.

Two hours later and Zi Xingxi was regretting it. She regretted it a lot. What she learnt from this experience was never to give Zi Feiji a blank cheque. Zi Han kept glaring at her with a look that seemed to say ‘you just had to involve me in this’.

Tired of being stared at like that she leaned closer while her father was staring at the painting with glowing eyes. “Don’t look at me like that. You made him mad in the first place,” she whispered before nudging his shoulder.

“Yah, I did but I didn’t want to accompany him to the museum. Everything in here is boring and I have a hangover,” he whispered loudly only for his mother to pinch the side of his waist, “ouch.... that hurts.”

“Keep your freaking voice down. He will hear you,” she said while smiling and waving at Zi Feiji who was glancing over in their direction. “Smile and wave,” she said through her teeth and Zi Han waved at his grandfather while mouthing,

“This is so much fun.”

Zi Feiji seemed pleased as he smiled happily before turning his gaze back to the painting of a woman with a bitch resting face.

Zi Han checked his light brain for the nth time and Zi Xingxi couldn’t help but tease him. “Why do you keep checking that thing? Are you waiting for a message from your boyfriend?” she said with a taunting smile. When his mother was hung over she was really mean.

“No, and why are you saying it weirdly. It’s a friend that happens to be a boy, not a boy friend. You are giving me the creeps,” he whispered back while locking his light brain. He was irritable because he had a bloody hangover and Yi Chen still hadn’t responded to his messages from last night. It seemed he was still mad at him.

Zi Xingxi chuckled before walking over to her father to keep him company. She had to appease him otherwise he would make their lives miserable for the next couple of weeks. By miserable, she meant he won’t stop talking about it.

Zi Han sighed in annoyance as he wrote another message.

HandsomeHan: Are you still mad at me?

HandsomeHan: ?

“Ah fuck,” he swore under his breath before walking over to his family. They were the only people who could distract him enough otherwise he might end up driving over to Yi Chen’s house on an impulse and grab his collar before shaking him half to death.

This was really going to be a shitty day. A shitty day indeed.
