Chapter 226

226 “Aren’t you a little too eager?”

What Zi Han didn’t realize was that this little scam artist was scamming his way into his heart so he could adopt it. Its cute antics definitely worked because Zi Han took that little one home and couldn’t wait to show Mr. Twiggles his new brother.

When Zi Han actually had a video call with Yi Chen the little guy blocked Zi Han’s light brain camera with its furry butt.

Yi Chen, “.....”

“Sweetheart, why can’t I see you?” he asked his brows furrowed.

“Don’t call me that either,” complained Zi Han while pulling away the little Nimsel from his light brain.

“You don’t want me to call you baby, babe, or sweetheart. Then what should I call you?” replied Yi Chen checking the article with the title ‘Seventy-five of the cutest nicknames and pet names to call your boyfriend’.

“Don’t you know my name? Call me by my name,” said Zi Han before showing off his new baby.

“Look what followed me home. Isn’t he cute?” said Zi Han with a radiant expression, “I haven’t named him yet.”

Yi Chen’s brow arched upwards staring at the little thing bouncing in Zi Han’s palm. “A Nimsel? Where did you....” he said before he was abruptly cut off by a knock at his door.

.....

“Ah-Chen, go downstairs and watch those two do their homework for me, please. It’s only for an hour. I need to go somewhere,” asked Lin Ruoxi standing outside his door.

“Okay. I will come down just now,” he replied before staring at Zi Han on the floating screen, “you want to keep it as a pet.”

Zi Han let the nimsel climb up his shoulder and said, “No not a pet but my second born. I think I will name him Hansel.”

Yi Chen put on a thin hoodie before walking down the stairs. “Since he is also my son I have the right to let you know that that name is ugly,” said Yi Chen his tone serious.

“Hey hey hey. Who says he is yours? You managed to sneakily get parenting rights for Mr. Twiggles but Hansel is different. He is mine alone,” replied Zi Han while handing the little nimsel a piece of raspberry.

“Darling, you are already making me wear a green hat? If it’s not with me then who else would you adopt Hansel with?” asked Yi Chen as he entered the lounge.

Instead of doing homework, one was watching cartoons while the other was playing games.

“Not everything I adopt will belong to the both of us. If I adopt a dog it’s my dog, not yours,” explained Zi Han only for him to hear sounds of complaints and whines coming from Yi Chen’s side.

“What are you doing?” asked Zi Han and Yi Chen responded casually while setting up the floating screen so Zi Han can see everyone.

“I am babysitting two naughty children..... Where is your homework? Let me see,” he said as he walked over to sit down on the couch.

Zi Han soon noticed two disgruntled faces glaring at Yi Chen like he had robbed them of something.

“Jiejie,” excitedly yelled Ming Ming while waving her little hand at him.

“Hie Ming-er, did you miss me?” asked Zi Han but when he recalled that hideous makeup from last time he shuddered involuntarily.

“I missed you,” interjected Yi Youxi with a shy smile but Yi Chen shut it down before it could get out of hand.

“That’s your sister-in-law. Now do your homework,” he said only for Zi Han to interrupt him,

“Sister-in-law? Do I look like a girl to you?”

“No but Jiejie sometimes dresses like one,” said Ming Ming that is before she saw a small blue thing climbing up Zi Han’s hair. “AAAAAHHHH so cute. What is that? Is that a mouse?”

Hansel, “???”

What kind of mouse has one big eye on its little face?

“No, it’s a Nimsel. I called it Hansel,” explained Zi Han but Yi Youxi still couldn’t let go of the fact that Yi Chen had said, in-law.

“You two are together now?” he asked surprised that his brother actually succeeded.

“Yes,”

“No,”

They answered simultaneously. It was easy to tell who answered what without even mentioning names.

Yi Chen, “???”

“It’s a trial period. Your brother is on probation,” replied Zi Han with a sly smile on his face.

“I wasn’t aware I was on probation,” whispered Yi Chen with genuine confusion on his face.

“It depends on your performance.... later. It’s no use if we aren’t compatible,” said Zi Han and Yi Chen instantly understood. The other two didn’t understand what they were talking about but Yi Chen knew what he meant thus he relaxed.

“You don’t have to worry about that. We are definitely compatible in that department,” he whispered but who was he kidding? These two obviously heard it.

“You know dad said that he was on probation too when he met mum now they are married. You will definitely get married and I will be the wedding planner Hehehe,” said Ming Ming giggling excitedly.

Yi Chen took out some candy from his pocket and gave it to Ming Ming. “This is plenty more where that came from. You can start making plans now,” said Yi Chen bribing the wedding planner with candy.

“If he fails his probation you don’t have to be so heartbroken. They are plenty of fish in the sea..... me,” said Yi Youxi pointing at himself with a roguish expression.

Yi Chen, “!!!”

“Mn, I will keep that in mind,” replied Zi Han while laughing finding this amusing.

???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????

“Do your homework,” said Yi Chen before getting up while minimizing the floating screen. He went into the kitchen and got two cans of iced tea for them.

Zi Han lay on his bed tickling Hansel when he heard Yi Chen asking, “So when can we check our compatibility?”

Zi Han continued playing with Hansel while responding, “Right now if you like. As long as you can get to me within the hour.”

“But you are twelve hours away from Capital Star? We can give it a try virtually if you want,” said Yi Chen with a stern expression.

Zi Han turned around and lay on his stomach staring straight at Yi Chen before asking, “Aren’t you a little too eager?”

Yi Chen stared at Zi Han for a long time with a slight quirk at the corner of his lips.

“How can I not when you keep looking at me like that?..... I miss you..... so much.”

Zi Han, “..... I miss you too.”
