Chapter 360

360 Yi Chen being stubborn and petty

Bam!

The sound of a fist hitting the table ripped through the air and the Marshal who was having a call with the prime ministers was angered beyond words.

He raised his head and met his son’s indifferent expression. His expression might have been cold and aloof but the Marshal could clearly see anger in those dark eyes.

He glanced at the admirals standing by the door his fierce gaze reprehensive before getting back to his video call.

“Let’s end on this note. We can discuss the remaining points on the agenda tomorrow,” he said and the prime ministers who had seen what just happened repressed their gossiping hearts and logged off.

If it was in the past they would have made fun of the Marshal a little bit but after he saved them from Prime minister Ju’s ploy they didn’t dare say a single bad thing.

Well, that is except one person. That person was none other than prime minister Ikeda. He smiled evilly when he saw his love rival and said, “Family problems? I wouldn’t let my son behave that way more especially in front of very very important dignitaries... I think the Marshal needs to spend more time educating his son.”

Both the Marshal and Yi Chen viciously glared at him like they wanted to end his eunuch life.

“Oh, I thought you would appreciate my advice. Fine, I was only trying to help,” he said before the call ended.

.....

Marshal Yi immediately picked up the digital picture frame on his desk and threw it at Yi Chen. Yi Chen’s reflexes were so good that he caught the digital picture frame and said, “That’s a gift from mom. If you break it she will kill you.”

“That’s none of your business. Did everything I taught you fly out of the window, huh? Where did you learn such abhorrent behavior, huh? Before you met that Zi kid you weren’t like this. You didn’t lie nor did you ever go against me...,” roared the Marshal only for the admiral to interrupt him.

“Sir...,” he said but the Marshal pointed at him and yelled,

“You, get out and shut the door behind you.”

The admiral didn’t dare disobey. He had come to inform him that Lin Ruoxi wanted to speak to him. She couldn’t get through his light brain and hence she had to call one of his admirals.

Being the one who was meant to tell Mrs marshal that her husband wasn’t available and that he was busy yelling at their son he suddenly felt scared. He sincerely hoped she would uphold the rule of don’t kill the messenger.

He removed the call on hold and explained, “Ma’am, the Marshal is busy at the moment. He is having a meeting with officer Yi.”

Lin Ruoxi’s eyes narrowed as she asked, “Having a meeting or yelling at him.”

Unlucky Admiral, “...”

Meanwhile, the Marshal continued yelling and things had escalated.

“.... you even gave him our family heirloom. Have you gone mad? Are you crazy? If you are tell me now and I can get you some help.”

As he said this he took the watch out and placed it on the table his chest rising and falling rapidly his nostrils flaring like a raging bull suppressing its anger. Yi Chen angrily picked up the watch and carefully put it away. He didn’t think his father would even force Zi Han to let go of the gift he gave to him.

???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????

“Is that why you broke his hand?... is that why you kidnapped him and beat him up? You threatened him because what? I am not the perfect successor?” asked Yi Chen his voice tremulous as though he was holding back something ferocious lurking in his chest.

“All my life I have gone wherever you want me to go. Done whatever you asked me to do without asking any questions. Like a robot, I did everything you asked me to do. I was just living with no feelings of my own.”

“But when I met him I finally felt alive like, like there was something more for me out there than just the military. I finally had something of my own and what did you do? You took it away fro-,” he said but his passionate speech was cut off when his father got up and pointed at him as he yelled.

“Why him, huh? Why him? Out of the billions of people in the entire federation, why did it have to be him? Heck, I would have accepted that that Evan kid even Li Ran, if that’s what you are into but you had to pick him. If he could behave himself I would have maybe worked with it but do you know what he did with his mother,” he said before pulling up images of either missing people or those confirmed dead.

“This is what they did. Both of them disregarded the laws of the federation and ended the lives of these people including prime minister Lienov. Do you know who was going to take the fall for that? I was... So you tell me if this person is suitable to be with you? Look at it... look at it then answer my question,” he said before he checked his light brain that was ringing constantly interrupting their conversation.

When he saw who it was he intentionally ignored it. His wife had already threatened not to come back if he kept on hurting their son so he knew very well that if he picked up the call she might utter the word divorce in anger.

“He is not perfect but I love him and no matter what you do or say nothing can change that,” said Yi Chen before tapping the answer button on his father’s light brain. Marshal Yi reached over to stop him but this petty child was too fast for him.

“Yi Chen, if you dare walk out that door I will make sure you won’t see sunlight for the next month,” said Marshal Yi in a low voice but Lin Ruoxi still heard it.

“Yi Zhen, are you threatening my son? What did I tell you the last time we spok-,” she said but Yi Chen didn’t hear the rest.

He was now more determined than ever to get power. It was only with power could he do whatever he wanted. His father wanted a dedicated Marshal then he would surely give him a dedicated Marshal.

Once his father retires and he takes on that mantle he will take Zi Han into his arms and wed him in front of the entire federation. His happiness had been threatened and for the sake of protecting this sole light burning in his heart, he had to do whatever it takes.
