Amidst all this bickering it was Ming Ming who finally asked, “Where is saozi?” drawing everyone’s attention.

Yi Chen who was silently watching this back and forth licked his lips and said, “He is out saving the world. Do you miss him because I miss him too?”

Everyone, “...”

“Don’t worry dage, I am going to call him for you,” she said and pulled up a floating screen before dialing her sister in law’s contact.

“Uh Ming Ming, he must be busy killing that beast. You shouldn’t disturb him,” said Yi Zhen. It’s not that he was considerate enough to not let his daughter disturb Zi Han. It’s just that the face slap was too painful. He had been blacklisted and handed over a lifetime ban yet his daughter could call with no issues.

“If he answers then that means he isn’t busy,” said Yi Youxi purposefully refuting his dad.

The entire time Yi Chen was looking at his father with a complicated gaze. He couldn’t help but wonder to what extent did his father bully his good-natured wife.

Just when they thought it wouldn’t be answered the video call got picked up and Zi Han’s good looking face appeared on the floating screen.

It seemed like he was walking in a dim lit narrow passage. He smiled at the little girl on the screen and waved, “Ming Ming... hie. You missed your saozi already that you couldn’t wait?”

Ming Ming smiled brightly and said, “We all missed you. Look there is second brother You and mum... oh and fath...,” she said pausing before shifting the secondary video call screen view away from her dad. She didn’t want to upset Zi Han thus she directly skipped her dad.

It would be your own kids that sell you out for sure. This is why one should never do illegal or shameful things in front of their kids otherwise they wouldn’t hesitate to snitch on you.

“There is Feng-ge and Kitty,” she said and Yi Youxi pulled the screen towards himself while saying,

“That’s not his name. It’s doctor Kiet... Look how dage misses you. He looks like he is going to cry.”

Lin Ruoxi, “???”

Could she return her son and get a refund?

“Okay, that’s enough. Han Han, it’s so good to see you. Thank you for bringing him back home. What you have done for my family it’s... it’s... I can’t even come up with the right words. Thank you...,” she said her voice brittle like she was going to break down crying again.

Zi Han hurriedly stopped her before she started kowtowing right then and there. “No need for all that mum. Aren’t we family already? I will come and see you properly very soon, okay?” he said while suppressing a smile his gaze fixed on Yi Chen as though saying I am coming for you.

Yi Youxi squeezed in and said, “Dage’s brain is broken so if you want to switch to another candidate I am available,” trying to loosen up the sorrowful atmosphere. He had seen his mother cry so much and didn’t want her to be sad anymore.

They would slip into her bedroom and climb into her bed so they could comfort her. She cried less and wouldn’t be as gloomy the next morning.

“Youxi!” reprimanded Lin Ruoxi while smacking him upside his head.

“Ouch... I am just saying,” he said only for Ming Ming to interrupt,

“Doctor kitty will fix him. Right doctor Kitty?” she said and Yi Feng couldn’t help but snicker.

“Kitty,” he whispered before resting his fist on his lips trying to hide the obvious smile on his face.

Kiet pinched Yi Feng’s waist and that was the last straw for the former marshal.

“Okay everybody let him do his job. The sooner he gets checked the better,” he said but who was he kidding? It was like trying to get the attention of a bunch of toddlers after hearing the theme song for cocomelon. Not going to happen.

Zi Han smiled while watching this show go down. They were already bickering but Yi Chen remained calm in the storm his gaze fixed on his lover’s face with yearning.

“Han Han, where do I turn? Left or right?” whispered Yeoh Jun having reached a junction. He had insisted on sneaking onto the Han but in truth, Zi Han knew the bridge was aware of their presence.

Since his father wanted to play this game he went along with it. He raised his head and said, “Left” before returning to the video call.

He looked at Yi Chen who was still staring at him like he was afraid that he would disappear on him again and mouthed, “I miss you.”

Yi Chen suddenly felt his ears grow hot. He was silent but his heart was screaming internally. How could he land such a hot guy?

Zi Han was completely unaware that he had been branded a hot guy. His gaze happened to land on the small map of the emergency escape passageways on the warship. His eyes widened when he realised he made a mistake. It wasn’t left but right.

“What’s wrong?” asked Yi Chen and the bickering stopped.

“No, it’s my dad. He took the wrong turn. I will come to visit you soon. Bye,” he said and the others waved at him goodbye before ending the call.

When Zi Han chased after his father it was already too late. He was already messing with the keypad of the emergency exit from the outside.

Zi Han’s steps paused when he realised whose cabin that was. Should he have warned his father? Yes. Did he warn him? Nope.

That emergency escape hatch directly entered his mother’s cabin bathroom so... The chances of his mother being back were slim so he would be fine, right?

Yeoh Jun seemed to sense that his son was no longer behind him thus he turned around and whispered, “Han Han...,” while crouching. He leaned his head back and craned his neck but the little brat had ditched him. Thinking he was still on the call with his in-laws, Yeoh Jun pulled his finger back only for the hatch to make a clicking sound.
