Chapter 334 - Illegitimate Daughter

Liu Lin strutted into the living room with a smile. Drawing Jiang Waninto a tight hug, she said, “I heard that you’re finally back, so I had to rush over to see you.”

Liu Lin was the daughter of a friend of Yao Rong’s.

His friend, however, had passed a long time ago. As such, Yao Rong and Jiang Wanhad taken the initiative to care for her whenever the mother was out of town.

“Linlin, this is my daughter,” Jiang Wan was the first one to introduce her. “Tangtang.”

Since Yao Tang had been registered under their household, then they could naturally call her their child.

Jiang Wan had wanted a daughter for such a long time. Now that Yao Tangwas here, things were starting to look up. Upon thinking of these things, her smile widened even further.

“This is Linlin,” she said, glancing at her daughter. “She’s Uncle Liu’s daughter.”

“Daughter?” Liu Lin’s eyes widened in surprise. Her voice became much sharper as she looked at the young woman up and down. “Are you serious, Auntie Jiang? I thought you only had a son.”

Why was this “daughter” suddenly in the picture? Liu Lin pursed her lips.

Auntie Jiang and Uncle Yao had always treated her like their daughter. Now that this woman had come into the picture, wouldn’t she lose her status?

If she was Uncle Yao’s biological daughter, she wouldn’t have popped into the picture just now.

Could it be that this was Auntie Jiang’s illegitimate daughter?

“She’s my daughter,” she said again.

However, she didn’t say anything else.

Jiang Wan took the luggage from Yao Tang’s side and placed it by the entrance. “I’ll be leaving your luggage here first, all right?” she said softly. “Take it with you once you leave.”

“What?” Liu Lin pouted, whining. “But I was planning on staying here for the night? Does she really get priority over me?”

She nudged her head at Yao Tang’s direction.

Even then, she could see the humor in Jiang Wan’s eyes.

Seeing that the young woman couldn’t read between the lines, Jiang Wan stated, “There aren’t a lot of rooms in our house now,” she stated. “You can’t stay here tonight.”

While they were making their way back to City A, she had already called someone to redecorate the empty room in the house and change the bedsheets. She had made sure that the entire room, despite its size, was welcoming for her new daughter.

“But I’ve always had a room here.” Liu Lin tilted her head. “What happened to my room?”

Her eyes filled with hostility as she regarded Yao Tang. However, the latter made no move to reassure her. In fact, Yao Tang couldn’t even care less about what was happening. She was too busy staring at her phone.

Liu Lin glared at Jiang Wan, digging her fingernails into her palms. Wasn’t she considered part of the family? Why did she have to adjust for this illegitimate brat?

“There are only three rooms in the house, one for me and Yao Rong, the other for Tangtang’s brother. There’s only one room left.”

Her words made Liu Lin even more uncomfortable.

Now that she had a daughter, she didn’t care about her anymore?

Was their relationship so easily forgotten?

“But I do have a room.”

Upon insisting, Liu Lin raced to the top of the floor and pushed open the only guest room. Smiling smugly at Yao Tang, she motioned behind her. “Isn’t this my room? I even had photos and books propped up on the shelf. How could you not remember, Auntie Jiang?”

She had no idea why Auntie Jiang Wan would bring her illegitimate daughter into this household, but her identity couldn’t be comparable to hers! There was no way this brat would take her room.

However, in reality, this wasn’t her room at all.

Liu Lin had simply come to stay so often that she had managed to put her belongings in the guest room. She had put her heart into redecorating the room back then.

As such, she had inadvertently made the room as her own.
