Chapter 456 - Haven't Counted Them

To her horror, the class only laughed at her face. They finally understood why Yan Wei was constantly mocking them.

So she didn’t believe that the test papers were all made by Yao Tang.

“I don’t really understand the way you think, Yan Wei,”Qin Jingjeered. “Who else would these reviewers belong to if notSister Tang.Do you honestly believe someone would willingly give up this kind of information?”

“That’s right!” Lin Xinchimed in as she huggedYao Tangand glared atYan Wei.

“And even if someone did, Sister Tangcan do whatever she wants with her possessions. We are more than grateful for her selflessness.”

Indeed, no one would be foolish enough to impart such sensitive information at such a critical time.

The college entrance exams were approaching, so everyone was on edge. After all, they were racing each other on the path to success.

Only Yao Tanghad enough confidence in herself to do the unthinkable.

A buzz went around the classroom as the other students nodded in agreement with Lin Xin.

At that moment, Qin Jingglanced atYao Tangand found the latter sheepishly rubbing her nose in embarrassment.

In reality, Yao Tangwas just too lazy to do all the test papers, so she distributed them to everyone. Two birds with one stone and all that.

“Just listen to yourself!” Yan Weishrieked. “Don’t you see she’s just using you to make herself look better? You’re so stupid that you don’t even realize how blindly loyal you’ve all become to her!”

The whole class was understandably angered by her remark.

“Only a malicious person would think this way. Not everyone is like you, Yan Wei!”

“Exactly. You should have just kept silent if you have nothing good to say.”

Yan Wei scoffed at them and sneered.

“Fine! Since you don’t appreciate my advice, then I won’t remind you again in the future. Just continue deluding yourselves. Let’s see who loses in the end!”

In the corner of her eye, she noticed Yang Niangiving her a disapproving look, but she only rolled her eyes and ignored him.

Lin Xin huffed and turned toYao Tang. She made sure that her voice was loud enough for everyone to hear when she said:

“Are you okay, Sister Tang? You’re not mad, are you?

It’s good that you’re not mad. You shouldn’t waste your energy on someone who isn’t even worth your attention.

Ah, but I am mad. I’m so mad, I could explode! I can’t believe such a shameless person exists!”

For the first time since the fight broke out, Yao Tang looked at Yan Wei and addressed her directly. “If you look down on us that much, then just leave this class. No one is stopping you.”

“Oh?” Yan Weijeered. “So you’re trying to drive me away now that I’ve exposed you? Didn’t you claim to have a lot of test materials fromInternational Middle Schoolbefore? How come you only produced a handful of papers just now? Don’t tell me that you were actually lying, and you don’t really have them.”

That made their classmates pause.

To begin with, the materials from International Middle Schoolwere rare to come across. It was already quite a feat for them to have seen the lot that they had.

But Yan Weihad a point—Yao Tanghad only taken out three sets today, which was a sudden break from the usual.

The other students kept their mouths shut, afraid that they might say anything they would regret.

They were confused about Yao Tang, but they didn’t want to get caught up inYan Wei’s trap, either.

“And if I do have them?” Yao Tangasked nonchalantly as she rubbedLin Xin’s back in a gesture of comfort.

The action gave Qin Jingpause. It was vaguely familiar, for some reason.

Right! This was similar to the way she would stroke their cat back at home.

‘What a ridiculous thought.’ Qin Jingshook her head and averted her gaze.

Yan Wei crossed her arms over her chest, looking smug. “If you do have them, then you should be able to take them all out, right? Last time, you said there were three to four hundred books in total. Where are they now?”

Of course, she knew that Yao Tangcouldn’t possibly carry it all with her to school. ButYan Weiwas riding on a high, and her desire to win the argument trumped her voice of reason.

She still hadn’t moved on from the time when Yao Tanghad made her look like a fool in public. She wasn’t about to let the latter off so easily.

“How many would you like?” Yao Tangasked.

Yan Wei took this to be an attempt to stall. “What’s wrong?” she taunted. “Can’t you take out at least a few more? You have hundreds, don’t you?”

The other students all stared at Yao Tangnervously.

“I haven’t exactly counted them,” she said, still indifferent as ever.
