Chapter 464 - Inspection

“This…” Yao Tang was the first one to step toward the trucks. She looked up at Cheng Yanwho appeared unbothered by the trucks behind him. “Why are there more than what I ask for?”

What was going on?

He shrugged, glancing at the people behind her. “You asked for the books, right? I had a new batch, so I brought them together with the other materials you’ve asked for.”

“I found out they were heading here, so I decided to come with them.”

Ever since the National Sports Association had tried to break into the campus, Principal Kongannounced on his school’s official website that visitors must apply for visitation rights if they want to enter the campus.

This was something that had been informed to Cheng Yan.

This morning, as the application was publicly available, he had seen someone who applied to visit student Yao Tang. Curious, he decided to click the notification.

He didn’t expect that the person who’d requested to visit her was from International Middle School. It was like an official convoy to fetch her.

Wanting to know what was going on, he had asked someone to look into this and caught up with the truck transport. It was how he had managed to add more review materials to what she had asked for.

What he didn’t expect was to be blocked at the school gate.

Cheng Yan had approved these applications himself. However, as the guards didn’t see the principal’s seal, he wouldn’t allow them to pass.

In the end, he had to personally escort them inside.

Yao Tang sighed in her heart, rubbing the back of her neck. “There’s really no need to bring this much,” she said slowly, shaking her head.

While Cheng Yan appeared calm, Qin Hao—who was standing right behind him—felt even more bitter in his heart.

Qin Hao was the one who had arranged this matter for his friend, and everything was done at the last minute if it meant them visiting Yao Tang.

The four trucks behind them actually held newly printed materials. They were all printed in City A and were prepared to be shipped out to Jing City.

What he didn’t expect was for Cheng Yan to call him over and encourage a change in transport route. Qin Hao had been so worried as to how to explain this to the other bosses in Jing City, but the other man didn’t even look bothered by this.

He even had the nerve to say it so openly!

When Yan Wei heard the man’s words, she couldn’t help but feel uneasy.

Why did it feel like she was going to lose this bet?

But, the review materials in these trucks—they couldn’t all be from International Middle School, right?

After all, review materials were very few. If she counted correctly, they’d all add up to only five trucks. They probably just brought more trucks to add to their bluff, right?

She took a deep breath and turned to glare at Yao Tang.

Was she still going to lie about this?

“These review materials are all from International Middle School?”

However, before Yao Tang could answer, her classmates all came to defend her. If looks could kill, she’d already be buried ten feet under.

“Are you crazy? Isn’t it obvious?”

“How many times should we say it before it sinks in?”

“Are you stupid? Are you really sure that you’re from International Middle School? Isn’t this something we’ve been trying to say over and over again?”

“Is this the daughter the Yan Family has been bragging about?”

One student rebutted over the other. It was obvious that they were having some fun mocking their fellow exchange student.

Yao Tang’s lips twitched upward. However, Yan Wei still didn’t look that convinced. She clenched her fists and stomped her foot onto the pavement.

“Fine, since you all look so convinced, then why don’t I inspect these textbooks to see if they’re really from International Middle School?”

As soon as she said this, Cheng Yan shot a look at the people behind him.

Bang!

Immediately, all the drivers opened their trunks, and the noise echoed across the campus.

“Then inspect them!” Cheng Yan spat out.

Yan Wei felt like she was frozen in the same spot. Her heart raced in her chest. It felt as if her entire form had been swallowed up, and she trembled.

How could Yao Tang know someone as intimidating as this man? Who was he?
