Plant Mage 33

Artificial Spirit and Mysterious Seed X (8)

Handy grass, which has been bred to work with my magic, creates a hut just as I had envisioned.

It looks completely like a log cabin.

It is built on stilts so even if the land has poor drainage, I don’t have to worry about flooding on the floor.

Six steps up the stairs lead to a veranda that surrounds the hut. It is a perfect space for growing potted plants and having breakfast.

Behind the door is my pleasant home.

This time, instead of scattering seeds, I placed them on the ground after planning.

The whole hut shouldn’t be too big.

Since I live alone, a 1LDK is fine. A spacious 3LDK house would be too much for me and it would be hard to clean every day.

If you place seeds with the structure and layout of the building in mind, you can minimize the amount of magical operation.

During the last war, we had scouts sow seeds in advance and they would suddenly germinate when a swarm of monsters appeared --- a terror strategy. The concept is similar but the application is different.

Preparation – 80%, work – 20%.

This is an ironclad rule when working on a project.

The interior turned out exactly as I had envisioned.

It smells like fresh handy grass and the space was made of wood.

「Bed, grow up!」

「Chairs and table, grow up!」

The sun was beginning to set when I was done arranging the minimum necessary furniture.

What should I have for dinner?

「…..since I’ve already used magic, I might as well make a kitchen garden.」

I tried to imagine the size of the field I could manage on my own.

Since this is the first time I’m actually farming or gardening, I’ll start small.

I decide on the plot of land to make into a field and place seeds.

Handy grass’ seeds.

It’s not like I want to produce more handy grass.

Aside from building things out of them, they can also be used as my limbs.

「---grow grow grow」

Sprout sprout sprout.

Thick muscular vines of the handy grass dig the soil as if they were giant snakes slithering around!

The vines move as if they have their own will of their own, repeating growth and wither at high speed.

It agitated the soil mercilessly to a depth that cannot be tilled with my physical strength alone. This would make the soil airy and fluffy.
