Volume 1 - CH 3

“What nonsense is he talking about…” The scar-faced alpha tightly clenched the AK in his hand and used his eyes to motion the two bodyguards to deal with the situation.

The caracal and lynx alphas had received the order. They took their guns and cautiously touched the bulletproof door, holding their breath with their ears attached to the door to locate the enemy’s position.

The rich brandy pheromones seeped through the cracks, and a stronger sense of oppression broke through their line of defense and straight to the glands of the two M2-grade alphas. Their neck seemed to be grabbed by an invisible hand, making them stiff all over and unable to move.

The pattern in the middle of the bulletproof door seemed to begin to deform, and the center gradually protruded, as if something was about to breakthrough. The front end of the bulge became thinner and brighter, and with a loud bang, a slender left hand with distinct joints suddenly pierced the bulletproof door. They watched as the hand grabbed the neck of the lynx alpha.

“No—”

The lynx alpha hadn’t finished speaking yet when followed by a muffled grunt, his neck bone was twisted and broken at a weird angle, killing him instantly.

The hand that had easily penetrated the bulletproof door threw away the neck of the corpse out of its clutch, groped around the door for a moment, found the lock, twisted it left and right a few times, and opened the door with a loud sound.

Bai Chunian stood outside the door, leisurely rubbing his wrists. His body emitted the pungent smell of brandy pheromone, and the intimidating yet strong oppressive pheromone overflowed the room. In an instant, except for the remaining four M2-grade alphas who could barely stand, the rest of the Iow-graded alphas painfully held their oppressed glands; their body swayed left and right, and some had even directly fallen heavily on the floor.

Bai Chunian walked in cordially as if walking in his own home. He closed the bulletproof door with his hand casually, glanced at the hole poked in it, then nonchalantly pinched up the broken steel to mend it back, the hard steel fragments as soft as playdough in his hands.

White Lion’s gland J1 differentiation ability, Bone Armour: The mass division of the gland cells would make the bones harder than any metals and alloy.

The merman in the display tank leaned against the dead coral to rest. The sharp increase in the concentration of alpha pheromones in the room had made him exhausted, and his fishtail powerlessly swept along with the current.

Pheromones spread much slower in water than in air, so it took a long time for the merman to notice the unique brandy smell. He raised his head weakly, his unfocused eyes sluggishly searched for the owner of the pheromones.

Bai Chunian wasn’t interested in looking at the few remaining second-grade alphas. Using his feet to separate the group of mobs who had their legs weakened and were lying on the ground, he lazily walked towards the water storage display tank, aimed the Desert Eagle at the glass, and pulled the trigger.

The display tank let out a loud bursting sound. A large stream of water surged out through the crack. The merman rolled over along with the gushing water and fell heavily on the bottom of the dried display tank.

Bai Chunian looked on coldly, staring at the half-dead fish on the ground delightedly as if appreciating his enemies being shot dead.

The merman struggled as he arched his body to sit. The dripping blonde hair was sticking on his cheeks, eyelashes wet and upturned. He weakly raised his head to look at Bai Chunian.

His vocal cords were different from humans in structure, he could only squeeze his throat to produce some long, ethereal tones, sounding miserable and sad.

“a……”

“Aa…”

This was the first time the merman took the initiative to communicate with a human these days.

Bai Chunian stared at this detestable face from above, wanting to kick him farther away, but his Adam’s apple moved up and down with difficulty, and finally chose to take two steps back.

The merman, on the other hand, handed over his long webbed hand for him to hold with complete trust.

Bai Chunian’s pretentious indifference finally broke, his eyebrows wrinkled. He subconsciously squatted down, reached out his hand, but didn’t know what to do next, and paused in mid-air.

Aware of Bai Chunian’s hesitation, the merman withdrew his right hand and looked at it for a few seconds, then suddenly opened his mouth to bite all the translucent webs between his five fingers, and locked them together with Bai Chunian’s.

Bai Chunian’s fingertips trembled. Hesitantly, he shook off the merman’s hand and only grabbed his wrist, then lifted the whole fish up to hold it with one arm.

The merman was a little surprised seeing Bai Chunian’s refusal, and at this point, the long tail was still dragging on the ground, so he had to silently roll it up around Bai Chunian’s waist.

His skin is still as cold as before, Bai Chunian thought confusedly. He was a deep-sea fish, delicate and afraid of heat, and his body temperature was really different from humans. In the past, a kiss would make him scalded to screams, a few more kisses would make him cry. The morning after, Bai Chunian could take a not-very-regular shape of pearl from his eyelashes.

The chain tied to the merman’s neck rustled, exposing the gland worn out by the steel ring. It was bruised and swollen. A numbered experimental subject suppressor was nailed deep in the center of the gland, used to prevent the gland energy from being too high so that the experimental subject wouldn’t burst up and hurt people.

Bai Chunian’s gaze lingered on the injured gland for a while, then easily twisted the steel buckle on the merman’s neck. He didn’t even notice the ache he had felt from grinding his molars together, his gaze fiercely swept through everyone present.

He drew the Desert Eagle into the merman’s hand and sneered, “Who did this? Find him.”

The scar-faced alpha, who had been hiding behind a chair, found that the situation was very unfavorable to him, and turned to flee while he still had the strength, but the merman narrowed his eyes slightly, and the Desert Eagle in his hand aimed at the doorway in advance. At the moment the scar-faced alpha ran through the bulletproof door, his head blew off.

Immediately after, the merman pushed the bullet load and turned the gun. The bullet whizzed past Bai Chunian’s ear, killing the mercenary who was moving closer to Bai Chunian and attempting to sneak attack.

When they got out of the abandoned aquarium, dozens of people fell behind them all the way, each body had only one bullet hole. At least two-thirds of the bodies were shot in the head and blown up by the Desert Eagle in the merman’s hands.

The merman’s damp blonde hair was sticking against his ears and his face was expressionless as he sat with his head down, loading the bullets one by one in Bai Chunian’s arms.

Bai Chunian held the omega with one hand, unloaded a sticky bomb from his pocket, and threw it behind. The bomb got firmly attached to the ruined entrance door of the aquarium. Its electronic sound rang for a few seconds, then the explosives planted in various corners of the ruins detonated with a bang.

He lowered his head, gently held the merman’s fragile neck, and bit the suppressor inserted in the center of the gland. He slowly pulled the device out while releasing soothing pheromones, spat it into the palm of his hand, and tossed it into his pocket.

After the suppressor left the gland, the pupil membranes of the merman’s eyes started to get covered back with a layer of blue metallic luster. A few traces of electricity occasionally crawled through the center of his eyes. The long tail lightly flicked, which made the clouds above the ruins rapidly gather and formed a thunderstorm. The gale swept the explosive flames, engulfed the ruins and all signs of life trapped in it. Lightning raged in the clouds, randomly hitting the buildings within the scope of the thunderstorm cloud.

Electrooptic Manta Ray’s gland J1 differentiation ability, Downburst: a unique destructive differentiation ability of an experimental subject specialized in combat, often used to protect snipers and assailants underwater and infiltrate enemy lines to destroy high-precision weaponry.

The soaring flames mixed with deafening thunder and lightning illuminated half of the sky. Bai Chunian jumped off the high platform with the impact of the explosion, stepped into the motorcycle in the burning air, and galloped away with the omega.
