CH 89

Rimbaud climbed from Bai Chunian’s embrace to his shoulder, then down to the ground along his back. He raised his fishtail, which turned crimson, high and bared his fangs as he threatened, “Nowa, goon, plansy le. (No, get lost, leave the things.)”

Sitting on the ground and looking back at the fierce-looking little fish, Bai Chunian grasped and held the tip of his cocked up fishtail.

Rimbaud’s cheeks warmed as his fishtail turned from red to blue. The tip curled up sheepishly in his palm as he crawled back into his arms, nuzzling his neck and wrapping his long tail around him.

“Go take a look, sleep in the bed,” Rimbaud whispered in his ear.

The merfolk watched the queen stand up, picked up their king, and head for the bedchamber. They huddled together to whisper among themselves.

“Muya bigi. (What a handsome man.)”

“Quaun Bulli Siren Mimi. (The queen tugged at Siren’s tail.)”

“Siren curel. (Siren will get mad.)”

“Quaun al jiji mua jeo? (Will the queen be eaten?)”

“Nowa. (No.)” An elderly merfolk looked in the direction of the bedchamber and said meaningfully, “Siren buligi, Siren milayer. (He has the scent of Siren’s nurturing on his body and is Siren’s child.)”

The bedchamber Rimbaud had furnished looked far more glorious than in the surveillance video, with white butterfly shellsplastered on all four walls and jellyfish in the shells reflecting the entire bedroom in bright blue light.

Rimbaud sat down in the soft giant clam and patted the empty seat beside him, asking Bai Chunian to come and lie down as well.

The bed was thoughtfully designed, half in the water and half in the air, and Bai Chunian sat on the dry side, surveying the meticulous arrangements all around.

He saw a skull on the bedside with a small red fish inside. The skull was placed on the side where there was water, but the very small red fish only swam between its orbits. Even if it could easily swim out, it didn’t dare do so. Maybe it was similar to a pet puppy raised by humans on land.

“Your ear piercing?” asked Rimbaud, pinching his earlobe, “I’ve noticed it a long time ago and never said anything about it.”

“I used to be so sad and let it close,” Bai Chunian raised his hand and touched his earlobe.

Rimbaud’s heart fluttered at the look in those dark eyes. He gently hugged him, wrapping him in soothing pheromones and humming a soft tune in his ear.

His vocal cords were built differently from humans. He could produce strange and illusory musical sounds, which made Bai Chunian’s mind go blank. When he came to his senses, there was an additional piece of jewelry on his left ear.

The two new holes in the earlobes and auricle were still bleeding, but Bai Chunian didn’t feel any pain. Rimbaud gently licked away the blood oozing from his auricle.

“So beautiful, what is this?” Bai Chunian asked while looking at his reflection in the water.

It appeared to be a hollowed-out skeleton of a white shell. The center was inlaid with a black ore with irregular edges. The ore was black in light and turned dark blue in the dark.

“My rib and heart.”

Bai Chunian’s eyes widened and immediately tried to take it off his ear. However, Rimbaud held down his hand and gazed at him with passionate and explicit eyes, “I am an incapable ruler.”

At this time of day, it was still afternoon on Greenfly Island. The weather was sunny as the special trainees gathered in the medical hall to wait for their annual full body examination.

The children at the training base were all the darlings of the instructors. With the intensity of their daily training and the isolation of the island, both physical and psychological problems might occur.

Han Xingqian sat at the consultation table. He wore a white coat over his instructor’s uniform with his stethoscope hanging from his neck. Occasionally, he glanced at his laptop. The Technology Department said that there had been no news from Bai Chunian.

Han Xingqian knew all too well what the guy had been up to, but he needed a sample of the Kraken’s blood for his next research, so he emailed the Technology Department, “Urge that dim-witted pervert to be faster.”

Lu Yan put the medical examination sheet on his consultation table, sat in front of him, and opened his mouth.

“Tooth decay, eat less sweets.” Han Xingqian said that after glancing at the other items on his medical examination sheet, “and your body fat percentage is too high, fat bunny.”

“Ah?” Lu Yan rabbit’s ears sprang up.

Han Xingqian didn’t really need a meticulous examination to sense the other party’s physical state. He signed his name after some items on the medical examination sheet and handed it to Lu Yan, “Next.”

Bi Lanxing’s indicators were as perfect as his report card, and there was simply no problem.

“Geez, why do I have a problem everywhere,” Lu Yan complained with drooping ears and leaning against Bi Lanxing’s shoulders.

The next one was Xiao Xun, who looked as usual. He put his medical examination sheet in front of Han Xingqian with both hands, sat restrainedly on the examination bench, and placed his hands flat on his knees.

Han Xingqian did not look up. While scanning his medical examination slip, he sensed his physical condition: “Your heart rate is so fast.”

Xiao Xun stiffened for a moment.

On the medical examination sheet, the mental health column was signed by Dr. Samoyed, mental status: Grade C.

The mental state was graded from A to C from excellent to poor. Grade C was the worst, but the detailed analysis of the results would take one day to be integrated and was not evident from the medical examination sheet alone.

Han Xingqian: “What’s going on?”

“The doctor asked me a few questions.” Xiao Xun’s voice was not loud, but it was clear. He replied softly, “I didn’t answer well, so I got a C.”

Lu Yan diagonally stood just behind him and saw what seemed to be something wedged between Xiao Xun’s legs, making a line of protrusion pressing against his pants.

“It doesn’t matter, it’s not an exam.” Han Xingqian said, “Open your mouth.”

Xiao Xuan obediently complied.

Afterwards, his neck suddenly tightened, and Han Xingqian’s well-defined hand clasped around his neck.

The warmth of his palm pressed against the skin of his neck, and Xiao Xun tensed his back but did not resist, “What?”

“Taking a look at the thyroid gland.” Han Xingqian said indifferently and calmly.

Xiao Xun: “But no one else needs…”

Han Xingqian: “No one else’s psychology is as bad as your Grade C either.”

Xiao Xun hesitated a bit, “Do you still want to ask some questions… In your emotions, I detect 55% doubt, 44% concern, and 1%…”

Han Xingqian lifted his eyelids, and his gaze behind his gold glasses was slightly sharp: “Next.”

Xiao Xuan was somewhat stunned and picked up the medical examination slip and left.

Seeing Xiao Xuan’s medical examination also had a series of problems, Lu Yan was much happier. With , he ran over, patted him on the shoulder, looked around to make sure no one was around him, and softly reminded him, “Hey, you seem to have something stuck in your pants.”

Xiao Xun’s footsteps paused, heat welled up on his face, and he walked away in a hurry.

“?” Lu Yan froze and muttered in a small voice, “I didn’t say that out loud either, my lost socks are often caught in my pants.”

Bi Lanxing came over and rubbed his head, “Let’s go.”

From the corner of his eye, Han Xingqian kept observing the small bulge on Xiao Xun’s pants. He lightly coughed into his fist and returned his attention to his laptop to urge Bai Chunian once again.

Bai Chunian rested in the soft giant clam for a while when the signal receiver at his waist vibrated, which was connected to the monitoring equipment of the underwater drone. A response from the receiver meant that a life form with the tracking cells was detected.

“Baby, I’ve been with you for too long.” Bai Chunian patted his face, trying to wake himself up. All of his self-control had just been used to keep his ears and paw pads from emerging.

“I still have a task, wait for me to finish it.”

Rimbaud got up and wanted to join him, but a mermaid came over to report that there was a riot that occurred among the group of killer whales for no reason, and that the king needed to stop it immediately.

“See you later.” Bai Chunian smiled and raised one hand.

“Blasyi kimo. (Bless you.)” Rimbaud pressed his palm against his and turned to leap into the water, the splashed bubbles turning into jellyfish following him along the whole way.
