CH 119

After the helicopter took off, it flew towards the Federal Transfer Airport. Bai Chunian and Eris were separately locked into two sturdy iron cages. Even though both of them were already fitted with suppressors, the police still guarded them vigilantly.

Due to the limited capacity of the helicopter, for ease of transportation, temporarily, the iron cages used for transport were extremely small. It was so small that an adult sitting inside would be unable to stand up, they could only bow their head and bend down or hug their legs and curl up inside.

The suppressor on the locks on their napes had been operating this whole time. The sensation was akin to a flare up of severe arthritis in the neck; not only was the neck uncomfortable no matter what, but one’s head would also experience a dull pain.

Bai Chunian remained silent. Before he removed his micro-communicator and destroyed it, he discovered that there was a communication signal requesting access through headquarters.

At that time, He Suowei accessed his communicator, and said to him as he was about to be escorted away, “Before going to M Harbor to provide support, we were on a mission in Cuba, cooperating with the IOA South American branch. A special agent called Beckin heard that we were friends and asked me to apologize to you. He said his teammates were all thankful for your command and protection, and he’s very sorry for accidentally hurting you.”

Bai Chunian had not mentioned his unpleasant experience in the Caribbean to anyone. Although he didn’t like to be calculative, this incident still left a thorn in his heart—similar to a fatal knife wound or a bullet: he felt that determining that the damage he suffered was small just because it was meant to be fatal for a human target, but could not kill him was unfair.

What He Suowei said gave Bai Chunian relief. He thought for a while, gave He Suowei a set of coordinates, and asked him to go to the train station in his stead to comfort a child who had lost his mother.

Being curled up in the cage for half an hour caused his legs to be numb, but no matter how he moved, it was impossible for him to stretch his legs. A large movement would cause a police officer to kick the cage violently, warning them to not even think about it.

The police officers looked at them not as if they were looking at a person, but as if they were looking at an animal.

Eris suddenly grabbed the two-finger thick bars of the cage, pressing his face into the gap and facing outside, he barked twice.

The expression of the police officer who had just kicked their cage changed. He immediately pulled out his pistol, pointed it straight at his head, and even backed away by half a step. The rest of the police officers were immediately jolted into alertness and sat up straight, pulling out their pistols to aim at him.

Eris laughed, turned back to Bai Chunian, and said, “Frightened again, we’re in cages yet they are still so scared.”

He smiled very happily, the corners of his mouth turning upwards, but perhaps because of his temperament, his smile always carried a trace of gloom, causing one to feel creeped out.

Bai Chunian suddenly became energetic. They knew little about the Red-Throated Bird terrorist organisation; any little bits of information seemed extremely precious.

“Your boss?” Bai Chunian asked.

“No, one of the boss’ subordinates, but everyone respects him.” Eris was very interested in this topic and squatted in the cage, talking as if there was no one else there, “He likes making ball-jointed dolls, they’re really beautiful. When talking about him behind his back, the people there all call him ‘Puppet Master.’ I killed them, because I felt that by right, he should at least be called ‘Artist.’”

Although Eris talked for almost half a day, he only stayed on the topic of describing the gentleness and talent of this Puppet Master. Other than the fact that the Puppet Master had already left Red-Throated Bird, Bai Chunian actually gained very little useful information from his words.

The surrounding police officers closely monitored their conversation. One of the omega officers put the barrel of their gun to Eris’ nose and asked him, “Where has the Puppet Master gone now?”

Puppet Master was also a member on the wanted list of the International Prison. Even though he was not an experimental subject, that person was elusive and had a strange and unique differentiation ability. Up till now, he had acted as counsel to the boss of Red-Throated Bird.

Bai Chunian felt this police officer was stupid and couldn’t help but sneer. “Can’t you tell, if he knew where Puppet Master was, would he still be locked in this place?”

“You shut up.” That police officer turned his head and reprimanded Bai Chunian, but his focus had already been disrupted by Bai Chunian. His right hand holding the gun touched the cage, and Eris grabbed the muzzle of the gun and bit down on his finger.

The police officer suffered a shock and forcefully wrenched his hand out. Several police officers on the helicopter immediately drew their guns and took aim. “Don’t move, behave yourselves.”

The police officer who was bitten glanced at the finger that was engraved with the shape of Eris’ teeth, and a ghostly teru-teru bozu mark appeared on the back of their hand.

Since the glands were suppressed, the pheromones stored in his teeth were also limited. Less pheromones were injected into the skin, and so the marks formed were correspondingly small.

Eris licked the blood droplets on the corner of his lips. “Officer, how would you like to be my omega? I’m really fierce.”

The police officer heavily kicked Eris’ cage in a fit of anger, scolding “Monster!” while kicking. Eris lay down in the cage and laughed so hard he bumped his head.

After entering the Federal Transfer Airport, they were searched by a group of professionals. Bai Chunian and Eris were separated and pushed into two sterile rooms.

At this point, the micro-explosives and tracker chip hidden in Eris’ body were about to be dismantled. Red-Throated Bird had suffered a huge loss, so at this point they should no longer be able to sit still.

He could not see the situation on Eris’ side, but for him, his hands and feet were cuffed, the suppressor on his nape was linked to a short chain. After firmly fixing him into position, the doctors began to inspect him.

Bai Chunian had always been relaxed, lying on the inspection table with arms folded to support his chin. He turned his head back to comfort the few omega doctors and nurses who were racked with nervousness. “Don’t be scared, I won’t struggle.”

His whole body was searched once, even his bandaged left eye was undressed and checked carefully. Finally, once no electronic tracker chips were detected, the only controversial area was the fishbone he wore as an earring.

The fishbone was inlaid with black ore. In several places, it had fused with his earlobe. Fully connected to his nerves and blood, the fishbone seemed to have become part of his body.

A doctor bent down and asked him: “We scanned the accessory on your ear, and no violations were detected. If you can introduce to us what this item is, according to regulations, you can carry it with you.”

“?” Bai Chunian instantly perked up. “Finally, someone asked!”

As a result, the escort plane was delayed for three hours.

After Bai Chunian was escorted out of Greenfly City, everybody temporarily lost contact with him, including Rimbaud.

However, Yan Yi found him some things to do to relieve his boredom. In those days without Xiao Bai, the merman in the human city would inevitably feel a bit out of place and lonely, and when overcome by emotions, might start to damage things.

Greenfly Island was flanked on all 4 sides by the sea, so perhaps Rimbaud would feel more comfortable there. What he had said was right; Yan Yi did want him to personally interact with the human children, in hopes that he would be less prejudiced towards humans, even if he could not completely drop his guard against them.

Upon returning from M Harbor, Yan Yi often contemplated what Rimbaud had told him. Though Rimbaud was arrogant and stubborn, his innate conscience was worth studying.

Greenfly Island’s special training base was about to welcome a new instructor. Early in the morning, the special agent trainees lined up by the pier, waiting for the arrival of the ferry.

All of a sudden, an immense volume of dark clouds gathered overhead. Thunder and lightning jumped between the clouds, occasionally meandering down to brighten the surface of the sea and indicating that a thunderstorm was imminent.

Huge waves surged from the calm sea, and a deep blue, translucent manta ray leapt out of the huge waves, carrying a suitcase with a cat’s head on its back.

All of the special agent trainees gaped at it in shock, raising their heads to gaze upon this unique and strange image for the first time in their lives.

The deep blue manta ray descended from high above, and the ground let out a dizzying buzz of lightning, causing radio waves to dissipate. Rimbaud suddenly appeared, collapsed on the sand! Slowly, he straightened up and sat on the suitcase, putting on his sunglasses. In addition to the bandages wrapping his upper body completely, he also wore a short pair of instructors’ uniform emblazoned with IOA’s logo on the chest.

The special agent trainees were still stunned. Rimbaud pushed his sunglasses up into his golden hair. Sitting on the suitcase, he said, “Your instructor has work and is on a business trip. From today on, I’ll be substituting in for Xiao Bai as instructor. If you think Xiao Bai is strict, that’s because you all have yet to meet me. Everyday, get a little omega to come to me and record the homework, if you have any opinions don’t raise them, I won’t listen anyway.”

The magnetic male voice was mixed with the enchanting tone of the mer race, slightly in contrast with his delicate and sexy appearance.

The special agent trainees were speechless for a few moments. Then, all the omegas with furry features tucked their tails between their legs and scampered away. The welcoming ceremony was over and the kids had pretty much all run away.

Lu Yan and Bi Lanxing did not leave but gathered around Rimbaud. Lu Yan hugged onto his arm and happily said, “Lao Ne has finally been laid off! Good days have arrived for me.”

Rimbaud let him run circles around himself and pinched his rabbit ears.

Since Bi Lanxing had previously allowed Lu Yan to bite and leave a small mark on him, Bi Lanxing became obsessed with these intimate markings. He often made bets or competed with Lu Yan, and if he won he would request to be marked. This kind of small marking could last for a week, so every week, Bi Lanxing would work exceptionally hard on the weekly test.

He liked to roll his sleeves up slightly to faintly expose one side of the marking, but when he suddenly realized that Rimbaud was looking at him, Bi Lanxing felt a little guilty and put his hands behind his back, pulling down the cuff to cover the mark.

“Don’t hide it.” Rimbaud began to push his questionable morals onto them, “I support puppy love, please go on a date soon.”

Bi Lanxing, “…”

Lu Yan’s ears pricked up. “I’m not—!”

Xiao Xun also did not leave. He found a little gap and started pulling on the end of Rimbaud’s tail, asking in a low voice, “Instructor Bai is really okay, right?”

Rimbaud sprawled across the handles of the suitcase. “He will be back very soon. You look so cute with your tail between your legs like this, the one surnamed Han was secretly looking at X-ray scans under the meeting table, it seemed to me like he was looking at scans of your tail. He seemed to be really enjoying himself~”

“…” Xiao Xun was teased until his cheeks turned hot. Upon his return from M harbor, Doctor Han had indeed taken X-ray scans of him to check for cracks in his bones.

At the end of the month, Firefly and Clownfish would leave the special training grounds to join the Search Division of the Secret Service. They had originally wanted to briefly tell Instructor Bai about it, but unexpectedly, Instructor Bai did not return.

Clownfish had never dared to approach Rimbaud. The pheromones that Rimbaud gave off made his legs weak, and if he even took another step closer, he would have no choice but to kneel.

As though speaking of the devil, Rimbaud curled the tip of his tail at him, beckoning him over.

Clownfish marched stiffly to stand before Rimbaud and swallowed. “King…err, hello Instructor…”

Rimbaud’s icy cold tail wrapped around his neck and dragged him in front of his face. He sprawled on the handles looking at him, his fingertips gently twisting the strands of his hair and leisurely asked, “I heard that it was you who helped Xiao Bai to translate ‘jideio’ into ‘the child’s father’? You really are…”

Yu Xiaocheng was so frightened that his legs quaked and his palms were coated in sweat. Seeing that Rimbaud suddenly raised his hand, he thought he was about to get slapped and shut his eyes in fear. “My king, I was wrong, I will never ever dare to talk nonsense again, I’m begging you…”

Rimbaud unclenched his palm, revealing a small blue floating jellyfish that he handed to Yu Xiaocheng.

“You really are a clever little devil.”
