CH 122

Since it’s Christmas Eve, everyone got a small piece of dessert. These were the only two days in the year when the prisoners would be able to eat something joyful.

The pheromones lingering on the snack were the same as the ones at noon, with a faint strawberry smell.

Bai Chunian grew interested in its maker. Holding his plate, he said to the canteen window, “I’d like to get an extra piece of strawberry cake.”

The canteen windows were also separated by a dense iron fence, and those responsible for cooking and serving were similarly prisoners.

Bai Chunian bent down and looked inward from the window, and a round-faced omega just happened to be looking back at him from the same position. He wore the white cap and sanitary uniform of a pastry chef—a white apron. He also had scarlet cheeks, a clean, soft appearance, and eyes that looked rather peculiar—dark red eyes with no pupils, made entirely of delicate hexagons, like the compound eyes of an insect.

He had the prisoner number “S-218” on his chest. In order to distinguish him from ordinary prisoners, experimental subjects were marked with an “S” in front of their number, which was an abbreviation for special, 2 for insect-type glands, 1 for 10% mimicry (eyes), and 8 for infectious disease-type abilities.

Despite having an infectious disease-type of ability, he could still work in the cafeteria’s back kitchen, which meant that his ability could either be controlled by the suppressor or was just ineffective in this case.

During his afternoon tea at the Shaojin Mansion, Crawler had mentioned to him that one of their members could not bear the pressure of being wanted and turned himself in, and was locked in the International Prison. He was a bee omega, Experimental Subject 218, the “Patissier.”

Patissier also saw the number “S-9100” on Bai Chunian’s chest and was a little surprised. He looked left and right like a thief, then secretly took a piece of strawberry cake and put it on Bai Chunian’s plate. He held his finger to his lips and shushed, “Just only one more piece for you to eat, there won’t be any more this year.”

Bai Chunian said, “Thank you.”

His voice was also extremely sweet, and he smelled like the clean scent of strawberries. Unfortunately, most of the experimental subjects did not trust IOA either. If only Patissier surrendered to IOA, the president would surely take him in.

Bai Chunian returned to his seat with his dinner plate and worriedly looked at the cakes.  Felines were not that sensitive to sweetness to begin with. He also didn’t like sweets that much. One piece was fine, but two pieces were too much.

However, within a few minutes of leaving the canteen window, the bee omega was caught by the correctional officer because there was a set number of meals and giving more privately counted as a violation.

The correctional officer lifted the thin whip and struck his hand, and deducted a point on his name from the list.

The little omega was so aggrieved that tears rippled in his eyes. After the correctional officer left, he crouched in the corner, holding his right hand with a painful scorched mark on its back caused by the electrically charged whip.

In fact, all experimental subjects were implanted with combat data, but due to their innate personalities, there would always be naturally soft ones. Some had personalities so weak that they failed to meet expectations and were simply incinerated and destroyed by the Institute. Meanwhile, the slightly better ones were used as hunting targets and food for powerful experimental subjects.

Bai Chunian looked at him expressionlessly from a distance. He swallowed the cake in front of him in a few bites and then used the small, soft plastic fork it came with to reach into the hem of his clothes and scratched it hard.

The prison had strict regulations stating that the cutlery could not be too sharp or have the potential to hurt people. These poor quality plastic forks were so soft that they had to be squeezed at the very tip and cut hard against one’s skin to make a cut.

After the prisoners finished their meal, they were taken back to their cells. When passing by the canteen window, Bai Chunian threw a capsule, the size of a small fingernail, in his palm to Patissier who was still sitting in the corner.

Patissier received the capsule, looking in the direction where it came from, with tears in the corners of his eyes. Bai Chunian avoided the sight of the correctional officer and made a smearing gesture to him when he passed by the blind spot of the surveillance camera.

Patissier clenched the capsule in a daze. Seeing that no one was around. He hurriedly squeezed the capsule in the palm of his hand, and the liquid inside flowed out, melting the capsule shell and seeping into the blood on the back of his hand.

The wound healed quickly and was soon gone.

“It’s medicine… How was he able to bring it in…?”

Back in his cell, Bai Chunian climbed straight up to his bunk. With his position high up in the corner, others would not see his movements at all if they did not come up.

He hid himself in the thin, hard bedding and ran his fingertips to his lower abdomen, where he had just repeatedly cut a shallow wound with the plastic fork. Along this position to the left about two knuckles away, Bai Chunian pressed hard on it.

There was no foreign item sensation in this position, but after pressing it hard, he felt a slight sensation of a container breaking in his body. Afterwards, a liquid medicine seeped inside him.

As the medicine was absorbed into his body, the gunshot wound in his left eye under the bandage immediately started to heal and was mostly recovered.

The subcutaneous invisible healing agent Han Xingqian had prepared for him was placed in his body in advance. The medicinal solution was injected with pheromones from healing-type glands that could quickly heal traumatic wounds simply by putting pressure on it.

The capsule was designed and developed by Han Xingqian for human agents. The capsule shell would be quickly dissolved without leaving any trace. The type of medicine inside would change according to the needs, and this special capsule would not be detected. The ordinary human body could withstand two capsules.

Healing medicines were not something precious in the Alliance Medical Association, but Bai Chunian never used them, keeping his left eye injured until he was in prison before slowly treating it.

He looked at the calendar on the wall and counted the time in his mind.

Three days later, early in the morning, before dawn, he was washing up at the sink when the correctional officer opened the cell door and knocked heavily on the heavy iron door panel, “S-9100, come out.”

Although he had been away from the Institute for almost four years, Bai Chunian was still sensitive to this number. He raised his head, wiped the cold water on his face, put away the toiletries, and followed the officer out.

Du Mo stood outside waiting for him with a pair of handcuffs hanging from his fingertips.

Bai Chunian took the initiative to reach out his hand and let him cuff his own hands. Du Mo kept a high degree of vigilance when handcuffing him, and Bai Chunian looked at him as if he were a bird that could fly away from being startled at any time. His eyes curved, and he asked softly, “Is it finally my turn? The police interrogation was a bit slow. Were you stuck with arranging transportation and additional security? There’s no need for all this effort, how could I escape?”

Du Mo frowned and cuffed him tightly.

These days, he had been dispatching snipers and guards to keep an eye on Bai Chunian to prevent him from finding an opportunity to investigate. However, Bai Chunian was so obedient that they could not find any flaws at all. After a few days, he found nothing, and in turn, Bai Chunian could even see what he was trying to do, as if he was monitoring the entire prison.

Du Mo suddenly noticed that there was a slight stain on Bai Chunian’s hem. He grabbed the fabric and looked down at it carefully.

He looked up and studied Bai Chunian’s face. “What is this?”

Bai Chunian spread his hands, “Blood.”

“…” Du Mo raised his hand and lifted the hem of Bai Chunian’s clothes. There was a scar on his tight and lean abdomen that had healed to the point where he could barely see it.

Du Mo pressed the scar on his lower abdomen, groped hard to feel if there was any foreign item, then raised his head and asked, “Explain?”

Bai Chunian laughed, “A scar, Sir.”

“You’re hiding something.” Du Mo stared at him with certainty.

“How could that be?” Bai Chunian raised his handcuffed hands, “Touch me all over if you like.”

“Take him for a medical examination first!” Du Mo gritted his teeth, his hand gripping Bai Chunian’s forearm was soaked with sweat. He carefully checked every movement of Bai Chunian in the monitoring, and he was certain that Bai Chunian was carrying something on his body. Something, such as a microchip which could receive signals from the outside world, or signal jammers which were used to fool surveillance.

“Search him clean, don’t miss even an inch of his skin,” Du Mo specifically instructed, “Especially that newly added scar.”

In addition to taking pictures, the doctors also used a scalpel to cut along the scar at Du Mo’s request. Of course, they found nothing, so they had to sew it back.

Du Mo held the examination report in his hand in disbelief.

He didn’t know when Bai Chunian stood by his side silently, “You know I’m going to do something, but you just can’t find the proof. I empathize with you so much that I’m starting to go bald.”

Du Mo slapped the examination report on Bai Chunian, “Be careful. If we find any evidence, we will immediately publicize it and execute you. Don’t think IOA can save you; we can turn a blind eye and not arrest you if you didn’t arrive here, but as long as you are within our grasp, even Siren can’t stop our trial. International Prison has its own bottom line and will not be threatened by anything.”

“I’ll be very careful, Sir.”

The tropical plants on the island were numerous, and some of the lands that were not covered with cement, dense branches and wildflowers, grew on those lands. Bai Chunian casually pulled a fiery red flower from a black vine, sniffed it, and handed it to Du Mo, “If I were you, I wouldn’t focus all my attention on me alone.”

Du Mo slapped the flower out of his hand, “Get in the car.”

Bai Chunian was escorted into the car by a group of armed police. At this time, it just so happened that the prisoners were escorted out of Area B to weed, and Invisible Stalker was in the queue.

He had been blindfolded. When passing by Bai Chunian, Bai Chunian coughed lightly, which caught his attention. He sniffed the air and determined his location.

The group in Area B had gone out about four or five hundred meters when Invisible Stalker raised his hand and said without any hesitation, “I have information to confess to the police.”

The correctional officer took what he said very seriously and took out his walkie-talkie, calling a few armed police over to take Invisible Stalker away.

They were sent to different armed escorts and left the prison.

A few kilometers away from the island on the high seas, a helicopter hovered in the air.

Lu Yan’s skill at flying the helicopter had been perfect, causing the helicopter to hover perfectly without any wobble. Han Xingqian was also inside, with sharp white horns sticking out from his forehead and delphinium consolida pheromones spread out along with his M2 ability.

Pegasus gland’s M2 differentiation ability, Hurricane’s Eye: An innate ability that only mutant glands had a chance to differentiate. Hurricane’s Eye referred to the center of a cyclone, the calm area in a hurricane where it was not affected by severe weather, where the signal was not interfered with by any instrument, where it could not be tracked by cruise missiles, and where it could not be detected by radar, which could only be imposed on inanimate objects.

He applied the Hurricane’s Eye to the helicopter, and no matter how close they came to the island, they would not be detected.

Xiao Xun held the binoculars to spy the island that housed the towering prison and said lightly, “He got it.”

In the sight of his binoculars, there were several blue jellyfish floating near the edge of the island.

Below the surface, Rimbaud dragged Bi Lanxing, who was in a diving suit with an oxygen tank.

Rimbaud dove and ascended swiftly. Simultaneously, he needed to occasionally release bubbles to change the water pressure around Bi Langxing, otherwise, he would be injured even if he was wearing a diving suit.

Intertwined vines grew inward from the land at the edge of the island, breaking through the earth near the examination room marked on the map in advance by Bai Chunian. The vines, mixed with many tropical plants, bloomed with fiery red and delicate flowers, and a tiny chip was put in the center of the stamen, which adhered to the nasal cavity with only a light sniff.

Rimbaud held Bi Lanxing’s vine, and when a flower bud passed by, he requested him to do something. “Write on the flower that I miss Randi and I kissed the one he smelled of.”

Bi Lanxing didn’t know if he should laugh or cry, “I can’t write so many words; my vines can simulate the surrounding plants, and the flowers near Chu-ge are all small.”

“Ang…”  Rimbaud was a little disappointed. His fin ears stretched out to hear whether Randi’s voice was audible from the vines.
