Chapter 186 - Second Brother Arrives

Sunlight pierced through the clouds and mist, washing over that person.

He wore a clean, white linen shirt paired with black trousers with the top buttons loose, revealing a clear Adam’s apple.

He nudged at his glasses with a finger, revealing wrists that were pale with vessels looming from underneath transparent skin. He was slender, but he did not appear weak.

A pair of silver-frame glasses rested on a tall nose bridge, making the entire person seem gentle and elegant.

The bodyguard opened the wrought-iron gate for him as the man slowly strode toward the manor.

Xiang Yi stepped forward but hesitated, unsure whether to proceed.

It was her second brother.

Xiang Li.

Was his hand…better now?

The man’s strides were long, and in a blink of an eye, he appeared in front of Xiang Yi.

But——

His gaze transcended Xiang Yi and fell on Wang Shunli. “Sir, are you in charge of Little Rabbit Farm?”

“Yes, yes, that’s me. You must be…from the research institute?”

Xiang Li tightened his jaws and fixed his elegant posture, as if he was a young master, fresh as jade from an ancient acolyte family.

Xiang Yi’s face was pale as she tightly clutched the edge of her shirt.

Her brother had treated her…like air…

It turns out, ignorance was more ruthless than indifference.

Wang Shunli politely answered, “Aye, I’m a rough person, I don’t know how to say nice things. Thank you for coming; have you had breakfast yet? Our Yi mei’s cooking is top-notch…”

“Uncle Wang, why don’t you take him to eat at Little Rabbit Farm?” Xiang Yi interrupted. She glanced at Xiang Li’s right hand and, upon closer inspection, saw there was a light-colored brace wrapped around it. After seeing this, she bit her lower lip, unable to bring herself to meet Xiang Li’s eyes.

She was afraid she would find blame in the gaze of her second brother.

And even more afraid of…her second brother treating her like a stranger.

As for breakfast, Xiang Li had taken on the attitudes of her third and fourth brother, hating her to the extreme. How could he possibly eat her food?

He would probably get annoyed even speaking to her.

Xiang Yi ran away for the first time, fleeing in haste.

“Eh? Miss Yi?” Wang Shunli shook his head, confused.

What’s wrong with Miss Yi today?

She had never been one to lack propriety, so her behavior today was very abnormal.

Xiang Li narrowed his thin eyes as a darkness flashed through them.

He was just testing the waters and had gotten his answer.

Evidently, she wasn’t ‘that’ girl anymore.

Xiang Yi had shut herself away until five minutes before the stream when she left her room.

Hearing the movement, Shi Sui turned his face and fixed his gaze on the girl.

Although she was only wearing some light makeup, Xiang Yi’s appearance still overwhelmed him at first glance.

She couldn’t hide her distress.

“No fever today?” Shi Sui asked.

Xiang Yi responded absent-mindedly, accidentally glancing in the direction of the staircase where Li Jianyu and Xiang Li had been chatting about something, arms flailing about in excitement.

Her eyes widened.

“Yi mei, come, come; let me introduce you to a big master!” Li Jianyu waved at her. “He helped me a lot!”

Xiang Yi looked stiff, unwilling to approach at all.

Suddenly, Shi Sui’s gentle voice suddenly appeared in her ear. “Let’s go together? Hm?”

Xiang Yi gratefully whispered, “Thank you…”

Shi Sui patted her head and felt a sharp light flash from the silver-rimmed glasses in the distance.

Li Jianyu was laughing like a fool. “This is Doctor Xiang, a researcher who is visiting Little Rabbit Farm on business. He heard of our stream being hacked and helped us write a new firewall program. These researchers nowadays are so helpful…Oh right, your last names are both Xiang, how quaint! Maybe your ancestors were from the same family!”
