Chapter 80 - Strained Relationship

"What the hell Javier?!?" Emily's yelling made Jennifer check her ears. What if by chance blood started oozing out.

The shrill voice suddenly made her lose her appetite. But at the same time, a chuckle passed through her lips which somehow seemed to be noticed by Javier but thankfully, Emily never took the notice of it.

But now, Javier looked annoyed to the next level. Till this time, he was acting patiently with her.

Despite her unwelcomed arrival in his flat, he didn't show her the way to the exit till yet.

But now, the water level was reaching up to his nose. She was getting on his nerves with her words and demands. For her, he is no one to agree and obey her.

"Just telling you the truth Em. You once said that you don't like normal food. So what was fun about making it? There is a chef in your house so better get something for yourself out." 

"But… you have totally lost your humanity towards me, Javier." Emily didn't wish to show her ruined and strained relationship with Javier in front of Jennifer.

Until now, she was acting sweetly with both of them, in the hope that he will somehow notice her and talk in a well-behaved manner too, but Javier's straightforward reply and action gave Jennifer a total clue of the entire scenario.

"Humanity? I don't have that. Most welcome to leave my place since I never called you here." Emily was burning in the pit of anger. She was digging her nails into her skin but her anger was directed towards Jennifer.

At the same witnessing everything, Jennifer felt once thought of sharing her breakfast with the pity lady.

But on the second note, why shall she do the same? The lady came unannounced and has ruined a beautiful morning somehow.

Invading privacy was not good, despite knowing that she is Javier's fiance, which was also something alarming and made her too resentful towards her.

At last, Emily wasn't able to tolerate the amount of hatred from Javier at all. She took her handbag, "I'm leaving. Hopefully, you will contact me soon when your brain comes at its place."

"Oh, it will not. So, don't expect any call from my side. Goodbye." He didn't even stand on his toes to walk her down.

Both of them quickly ate their breakfast in peace when the lady left in burning anger. When Emily finally walked off, Jennifer burst out laughing while holding her stomach with one hand.

"Oh, God… I never imagined you to be so funny. Hahahahahahaha.. she deserved it for sure! Such a clever lady." Jennifer felt relief passed through her lips since both of them were left alone.

She wasn't guilty about anything, despite knowing that she is Javier's fiance but so what? It's not like they are probably engaged.

A faint smile appeared on his face as well. "I know right. She is just like that since childhood. You see the pampered princess."

"Yeah… Her look and attitude described that very well. Did you see how small her face was when you told her that you haven't made any breakfast for her? Gosh… I can't stop my laugh...." 

Javier didn't do much in her accordance and just smiled. But with time he kept on peaking at Jennifer through his eyes to see her wide smirk and carefree attitude in front of him.

'I believe due to Em's arrival she was caged and felt suffocated as well.' He doesn't know the reality but at least, this was what he noted.

She is so bold and outspoken in front of others, strangers especially. But was she wasn't being herself because of his relationship with Emily? Since his status as her fiance?

"Jennifer.." he called her name tenderly to gain her attention... "Yes?" 

"I'm sorry to hide. I know you asked me whether I have about my girlfriend or someone special… But.." recalling the time once again, Jennifer's face crumbled. Her eyes turned frosty with the time and a frown curved on her forehead.

"You know… I guess that I'm no one to interfere in your life, so I should not take any part in your personal life.." it was the honest answer but in return, the same brought a frown on Javier's face. 

Why was she acting as if this doesn't affect her at all? He was puzzled but at the same time, he knew that he has to be careful with the choice of his words.

"So you mean. You aren't angry after knowing that I have a fiance already? And was still flirting with you?" 

"Why will I? There were no hard feelings attached. Moreover, that's your life and your rules. Do whatever you wish to, who am I to ask?" She was behaving as if she didn't know who he was. 

But at the same time, Javier knew that her words weren't matching her current body language.

She acted too much different from what she recently said.

"All right as per your wish." He finished his breakfast at a rapid speed, which made Jennifer wonder what got him so worried? He has all the time in the world to eat for now.

Just now Emily left and they have regained peace, he is in the hurry for something unknown.

Will, he goes behind Emily to make up to her for the insult or leaves her alone? 

'They have a strange relationship. Sometimes, they are sweet yet.. cold to each other. Most likely Javier..' 

It gave her mixed feelings.

So, finally in the end she decided to keep her feelings at bay and not fall for anyone else.

Moreover, in this land of unknowns, she can't get herself at any risk of realizing any foreign feelings. In the end, they all will pull her back into a state which she won't like at all.

Her only mission should be to avoid the engagement at all the cost.

Javier picked a napkin from the table and said, "I would go out for some time. Will you be fine, being alone here?
