He was present in his house where Olivia showed up too.

Since he went to the border to meet Johnson, this made her curious to know more about the events

"So… what happened there?" Olivia asked Lucas who was currently sitting on his couch and going through his emails. 

"Nothing serious. I gave them back their uncle and returned to my place. It was pretty much easy." His clear-cut answer was a surprise for her.

Although Grandfather Smith did say that he is willing to give back the man, whom they had held for so long yet she never imagined it to go smoothly.

"No firing any other stuff?Not even words battle either?" She asked with a stunned expression and received a nod from his side, "Obviously there was. How can you expect all of us to meet and not to taunt each other?"

It was evident that nothing major took place.

Nodding her head in understandings, she scratched her head slightly at the touch, 'Looks like I will need to be cautious enough and gather some information. Otherwise, he will burn me alive!'

The much he told her wasn't enough to pass on, especially when there was no shed of blood between the groups.

Biting her lips, she stared at Lucas with her averted eyes, "What are your future plans then? It was only one demand and they will not return Jennifer just merely because.. we fulfilled one." 

"Hmm.. probably they will not." As far she recalled how Javier Johnson spoke to his face, until and unless he trades back with the Ruby, Lucas can't see Jennifer.

Giving back other stuff and materialistic things was still under his control but the Ruby?

A family heirloom is no less than a precious gem for them. Keeping aside how much his mother longs for the same, its value is reaching new heights with each passing by year

How can he expect to give the same back so easily?

"Mom will never agree with other diamonds, Olivia. No matter what, they are stubborn about them."

"So are Johnsons. Neither will your family agree to everything so easily, nor his family without getting their hands on it. The decision lies with you..." internally all she wished was for them to give up everything.

In the end, when the time's come, he will be wedded with Jennifer and gain the new status. Afterward, regarding Jennifer and having their own flourish, life was another goal.

However, the deepest secret that Olivia held was still a mystery. Her intentions weren't as crystal clear as she makes them appear.

Just when they were in the middle of discussing things, his butler came and bowed to Lucas slowly. "Sir, there is a guest to meet you."

"Guest? J don't remember having anyone today in my place.. isn't it Olivia?" Averting his gaze, he looked in her direction, she too blessed him a shook.

Clearing his throat, Butler answered back, "They are Mr. And Mrs. Taylor who are seeking your presence. If you permit… them to enter? They are requesting a meet, saying that something is urgent."

"Let them in.'' A short reply maid butler followed his instructions.

The Taylor couple were permitted to enter the mansion where their eyes fell on the significant man sitting in the drawing-room. 

Amelia and David had determination in their eyes, but what soured their mood, was the presence of the lady beside him, Olivia for whom they have unknown hatred.

"Should we ask... Lucas, to talk with us in private.. in the absence of Olivia?" Amara whispered in her husband's ears to seek his views.

Answering in his timid voice, he spoke, "No need. Since she knows everything... Lucas will not ask her to give us space. Irking that lady won't be beneficial to us and also, if he gets furious, she can at least make him calm."

"Hmm.. you are right." At last, they both come to the conclusion to talk with Taylors in the presence of Olivia itself.

Seeing the couple, both Lucas and Olivia were indeed taken aback to their core "Hello. It has been a while since we met."

"Sure Mr. Smith. Time flies.." the conversation started a lighter note when Lucas signaled them to take a seat on the opposite couch.

What caught his eyes was the seriousness in their actions and clumsiness about how they behaved.

The fake smile they used didn't go unnoticed and the entire change made him raise his eyebrows. 

"Mr. Taylor, I wasn't expecting your presence here. After all, your daughter is still not with us. I'm trying my best but it will take some time." At first, he passed his own comment on the topic which he imagined, to clear out if they were here because of Jennifer's absence.

"That's isn't an issue either. After all, you are her fiance..definitely you will bring her back at any cost. Your love.. is so much for her so we never doubted that." Amelia politely replied with an assured smile.

In return, her comment bought a chuckle on Olivia's face which she tried her best to hid under her hands.

Yet, failed to do so and spoke, "You won't be here to know about your daughter's condition, right? After all, she has been kidnapped for a long time."

"If you are wondered and cared about her... then I believe you all might have taken some actions. Unfortunately, all I can see is us, fighting to bring her back here..."

The comment was rude in the Couple's eyes but taming their sentiments, they knew that fights would not make them gain.

Giving each other a look in their eyes, they faced Lucas, ignoring Olivia's frown eyes and gazes. "We would like to request Mr. Smith.. and ask for something in return."

His stare was fixed on them, "Go ahead."

"We.. would like to travel to the Johnson states on our own.. to bring Jennifer back to our states."
