Chapter 182 - Murder Of His Mother!

Javier wanted to interrupt in the middle, as it is very much evident in which direction, was his father talking the conversation with him. 

"Father, trust me, you are choosing the wrong person."

"I don't think so. My hopes are only on you now, as you are the only person from whom I can at least except any child for this family." Shawn didn't budge from his statement even for a second. 

What caught Javier's eyes, was his father's weak and timid voice.

All of the sudden, he is not acting mighty and brave yet looking too vulnerable. Was it because he longs for a child? That wasn't how Javier think it to be.

"Brother Charles is.. much older than me. He is the one who manages the business as well." Javier spoke to express his concern.

"But your dear brother isn't in any condition to get married. If I try to force him, he will automatically step down from the current managing position of the business." 

"You mean Charles has the option to resign?" Javier found it hard to digest. Can his brother go to that length?!

His was something that made Javier frowned. 'So.. this is why, no one is talking about Charles marriage but mine.. getting me married..' 

He was never confused but taking such a drastic big step, a marriage, needs a lot of consultation.

"I will not be that married to Emily anytime soon. Remember that."

Taking the sip of the drink, Javier spoke in the mist-containing tone, as if it didn't make any difference to him at all.

Instead, Shawn answered in her favor, "She is the undoubtedly, best choice who will suit you and our standards in every way. Why not her?"

"Because I don't like her."

Javier gave a short answer in which he wasn't believing buffing. Neither was he, nor was his father dumb to not know what kind of person Emily is.

Or, his father acts like a fool because of the power of money, behind her yet he can't even imagine himself getting married to a girl who.. is too cheap.

The same made Shawn's heart restless.

He was trying to pull Javier into his trap but it never worked on Javier. "You are a stubborn man."

"So are you. I told you simply that I don't have any wish to getting married to any woman, why are you persisting on the same? Is that too hard to understand? I Don't think so.."

"It isn't hard but you are making it too complicated. Look, I don't know what is going between you and that hostage.. but that isn't going well with Emily." Shawn clearly expressed the same thought that Emily had.

Hearing this, a front sly smirk appeared on his lips, recalling Emily's face in his mind.

'So the girl actually came here to instigate him against me and Jen. Such a brilliant mind you used Em. But in the end, you will too become the puppet of another person.'

He knew that Emily doesn't have that shape brilliantness to think too deeper.

Instead, she might never get a chance to talk so understandingly with Shawn, until and unless the lady held her.

"The hostage you are referring to.. is someone close to me. Like I said earlier, try to harm her, and I will burn you all. So, do not think of bringing her into this..." Was clear-cut threat and alertness.

His eyes shined with the coldest glint, indicating how others should be wary out of him. When it comes to Jennifer, he can transform into the beast as well.

Noting the same, Shawn mentioned, "Then maintain distance too. Alright if you are friends but.. or maybe she can be your mistress too, but the daughter-in-law of this house will only be one person..and one lady and that would be.."

"A girl of my choice and preference, not so-called random ladies whom you pick." Javier interrupted in the middle of the answerback, in the distant voice.

He tried his best to not sound rude but in the end, the result was the same. The drinks were on the verge of getting finished but Shawn wasn't even satisfied. 

A sigh escaped his lips, "A brat like you.. Javier, is it too much to ask from you?"

"Probably yes. In this century, most of the lovebirds prefer to do love marriage, so will I. Why don't you recall how you actually asked our mother's hand in marriage.. just merely because you felt a strong connection towards her."

Javier was very much straight with his words. He has no such intention of giving his father fake hopes, just merely to satisfy him.

He has nothing to lose.. at least nothing which might be related to his dad.

Giving a hint of Shawn's life, this made his father slightly discomfort as well. "That.. was another case.."

"Was it so? I don't think it was any other case but I believe... It was done for the best. On my side, the answer will remain the same, now or then. I will not marry Emily at any cost."

With this, Javier emptied his glass and kept it on the coffee table, and stood on his legs.

Without sparing his father a single gaze, he was ready to walk back to his room but halted in the middle.

Once again, turning around, he looked straight at his father.

"Don't keep high hopes. As well, I know who has insisted and instigated you for the same.. don't be a puppet in some else's game of chess." Without letting his father speak a single thing anymore, he was ready to walk back but stopped after hearing his father's words, shocking him from top to bottom as he felt a chill shiver down his spine.

"What if.. I give you a hint which will lead you towards your mother's death. Will you marry Emily.. at the cost of knowing your lovely mother's killer?"
