Chapter 227 - Charles And Jennifer(1)
After bidding goodbye to both of her parents, the trio started going back to the mansion before Javier arrived.
It was a strange thing too since they all ran away and no one even got a little hint about her disappearance. 'Probably no one came in my room to check on me....'
This was the only situation she found to her mind but that didn't make her sad. What mattered was Javier's role in this.
While making their way back to the villa, there was absolute silence inside her car. No one can doubt that it was awkward as there were different thoughts revoking in each person's mind.
Someone did need to open their mouth and Hannah finally managed to do so, "Jennifer.." someone called her name when she looked at Austin.
"Hmm?"
"You do know about what you just told your mother?" The fun-loving and teasing Hannah had already faded. What she came across was the mature side of hers which was kind of new but still normal.
"I'm quite aware. All of the words I said were in my senses. Do you think that I was drunk?" A light chuckle passed through her lips but that added more to Austin's anger who sat in the front seat beside the driver...
Without turning around his face, his lips did the work, "But to me, it seems that you were nothing but drunk as you took that immature decision...."
Smiling half, Jennifer didn't feel any kind of worse feelings too. Rather she was relieved that they were taking care of her, "Austin listen to me.."
"Jennifer…" he wasn't in any mood to fight but Jennifer still continued to say despite his moody nature, "See, if I didn't stop my mother then she would have continuously pestered me at cost. I just hate talking about that bastard from the bottom of my heart.."
"Haha! You still agreed to get married to that man? Is that irony?" Austin was sarcastic in his speech which didn't miss any of theirs eyes too. None can deny that he was immensely annoyed about the entire thing, the situation.
Unlike Hannah, she knew that there was a need to calm this man in his anger, "We know that Austin but Jennifer have the valid point as well. She isn't a four years old girl, she won't do anything without taking all precautions, and having something in her mind!"
Hearing this, Jennifer laughed but didn't refute the same. Rather she maintained a faint smile over her lips and changed the topic to another segment to explain herself.
"Guys, Lucas is someone who controls them and other things. I don't know what or why, but if my instincts are right then Lucas might have already heard what she just told her parents."
"But what if there were cameras in the room? What if Lucas was keeping an eye over our actions and conversation and how I react? At first, I was getting too furious but later, this idea stuck with me."
As her words made sense, Hannah agreed. If they did anything wrong then there would have been a disaster if Lucas got any new track of their plan.
Accordingly, it was better to act normal and keep the talks between them. "Hmm.. so you accept that you will not marry him?"
Facing her best friend, Jennifer shrugged her shoulders in puzzlement, "I never agreed but I never denied to. Who knows what lies in the future. Let us see if I get married or not, I hope that I will consider this.."
"I hope your instinct isn't going on any wrong path on this topic." Austin's words from the front were heard on which she giggled. 'No one knows what I have done in the morning. Let us see if I'm able to get Javier's acceptance or not..'
Her eyes shined brighter sun when she recalled the demand she put forward in the morning. Although, it did meet with his reluctance it didn't make her lose her confidence.
When they arrived back at the villa instead of going through the ladder, Jennifer stopped in the garden. "It will be better to roam here, don't you feel so?''Her sudden question made them all curious. "But what if someone catches us?"
"So what? I will say that I wasn't in my room but in the garden and no one spotted me.. Come come!" Jennifer was urging them to come along with her, but then she halted in the middle when her eyes fell on Charles who was also talking with someone over his phone.
'If brother Charles gets any hint, it will be at my disadvantage.' Moreover, if he saw her with Austin, then she will automatically be exposed to the next limits.
Rather, she turned to face both of them and spoke in a much lower voice, "You guys go back. I will go back to my room soon. Now, go-go."
"But are you sure you will be alright?" Hannah asked worriedly after recalling last night's events but she received a positive response from Jennifer's side after seeing that her mood was also fresh, blessed by herself.
The two of them took their leave without saying anything ahead and thanked Jennifer, asking her to take care of herself.
Taking a deep breath, Jennifer's eyes looked at Charles when she made her way towards him and greeted him with a faint yet expressive face.
"You didn't go to the office today?" she asking with her a lot of uncertainty since it was rare to see him home. In return, he shook his head and answered the other person on the line, "I will call you back in a few minutes.. yeah, do that work till that time. Hmm. send me the file afterward."
Soon he hung the phone and put it back in his pocket. Starting at Jennifer, his hard and rushed voice was heard when he formally asked, "You are.. roaming around?"
"I wasn't feeling well while sitting in the room all alone. So I thought of going here and here and taking a walk." Jennifer made sure that words don't sound too obvious.
"That Is good but all alone? Isn't Javier along with you too?" She wasn't surprised by the question since he is the one taking care of her all along.
"Out of the blue, he received an important call, and eventually he left. Neither did I try to ask." Jennifer asked out of courtesy, remembering the sudden rush in which Javier left,
Neither did he try to tell her, nor did she ask. Although, her curiousness was still high.
"Hmmm, he must have some urgent work. Anyways, how is your hand now?" When the topic led to her hand, Jennifer felt slight discomfort. Subconsciously, her injured hand moves back, behind her body. But it was far from being hidden from his eyes.
"If you don't mind me asking, can I ask you something, Jennifer?" He called her name, which was special but in return, she simply nodded her head.
"Whatever happened between you and Javier has affected you a lot but.. I still wish to know. Are you developing some feelings for Javier?"
