Chapter 244 - Engagement Day! (2)

"Please welcome the couple for tonight's ceremony! A huge round of applause for them!"

With this thunder of claps was hard after hearing this, when everyone's attention was taken by the couple who appeared with their arms in arms. A smile emerged on their face when their eyes were interlocked with each other.

"Welcome to the ceremony Mr. Johnson and Ms. Dakota. We all were eagerly waiting for your arrival." The host spoke with her warm tone when Emily gave them a sweet smile, "That is very sweet of you. I hope we aren't late.."

"Not! The real party starts where the couple arrives." The giggles were heard with this but on the second note, Jennifer's eyes never tore from the outfit they wore.

Emily wore a red velvet color off-shoulder gowns reaching to the ground while Javier matched with her outfit, by wearing a black and red velvet lavish coat along with a golden-colored watch. Both of them looked like a forever match made in heaven yet her heartfelt immense hatred towards them.

'Such a fake act in front of everyone…' she knew the truth when her lips twisted slightly. But her shoulders dropped immediately when a scornful expression filled her eyes.

Seeing her aloof expressions, both Hannah and Austin were worried. They saw all the grand entries and how others were congratulating the couple, with great efforts, without even knowing that the man in front of them was already married.

Coming closer to Jennifer's ears, she whispered "He is such a brat! One day before he was marrying you and now, he is getting engaged?"

"It is a drama for the world, Hannah.. Javier is a bastard, just like how his father is. What can you expect out of a man like him?" Austin too expressed his disappointment with the entire situation in front of them.

The words of both warned Jennifer yet no word left her mouth. Instead, her heart beating fast, racing at its peak already!

"Jennifer, what are you even planning to do to?" Hannah asked when she averted her gaze to see the eye lock that took place when Javier averted his gaze towards them.

From the far distance, the man looked at just one figure that was of Jennifer. She looked beautiful tonight, unfortunately, he doesn't have the privilege to go by her side and stand and claim her as his..

At such thought, Javier simply shifted his eyes from Jennifer back to the other guests who came in the direction to greet them. But the scorn and cold expressionless face of his was no less than any wind of Atlantic.

Witnessing the scene in front of her, Jennifer's lips curved upwards, "He doesn't look happy.." she muttered in between her breathe, shocking both the parties beside her.

"Are you out of your mind!? that man is breaking your heart and you are still thinking about his happiness?" Hannah almost lost it on the time, when she saw Jennifer looked worried about Javier.

In her eyes, it was useless to even think for that guy who is leaving his wife. But Jennifer had something else in her mind when she nodded her head and turned her head, "Hannah, I told you that I love him? for me this man's happiness matters more."

Staring into Jennifer's eyes only made Hannah stand there in puzzlement. No words seem to leave her mouth to revoke the same but Austin didn't fall into the same trap as hers"If his happiness matters to you, then why don't you simply go and talk with him? Wouldn't it be a good option too?"

Hearing this, she turned her head into his side and faced him with a calm expression. Tossing him a small smile, "Correct. But self-respect matters too. Today I will simply see if he is willing to go to that extend to get what he is willing to...I also want to know the purpose.."

"You are crazy…" that was all that they said when they saw the stubbornness that resided in her mind and eyes. What took place was Jennifer taking the glass of wine in her hand and she then gazed in Javier's direction. Lifting it directly, to show he is winning, she drank the entire glass.

Not like it missed from his eyes when the entire situation caught his sharp gaze. 'She is drinking wine? Even when she knows that her tolerance is even low!'

Despite maintaining a stone-like face, no one can deny the feeling of loneliness had started to trace his heart too. His happiness lies somewhere else and knowing that this is all, for one thing, was the only mission he aims for.

"Mr. Javier, we are witnessing the union of the two big families. What lies for you two? After this engagement?" One of the men asked when Javier replied in a lazy tone, "At least let this event happen."

"That will surely take place...but afterward? Are You both planning for a wedding soon too?" The man was keen to learn of their future but Javier had no such interest to answer back..

Lack of response made things turn slightly awkward but then Emily stepped in between when she kept her hand tenderly on Javier's biceps and answered back with a bright smile, "Currently, we are young. Surely a wedding will also take place soon too. But we never know the time. However, it will be on the cards very soon."

The man patted Javier's shoulders which were disliked by Javier but somehow he managed to not let his dislike be expressed"Hah! That is good for both of you. May God bless you and your families! May you have really cute children in the future" In return, Emily's passed him a beautiful glow.

Things weren't as sweet when the man left them alone. At this time, Javier turned his face in Emily's direction to say,, "This time you said. Further never try to say something involving me.. without my knowledge.."

The expressionless face of his was already sending the cold down her spine which slightly made her feel cautious but she still held onto her dress and toes, "Oh Javier! We are getting married now!"

"You too know why this marriage is taking place. Don't test my limit Emily.." was all that he said when Shirley interrupted the entire hall when she took the nearby mic from the host.

"May I get everyone's attention, please? Since we are on the verge of getting the couple engaged, I would like to make this occasion a little bit more memorable."
