Chapter 333 - Nightmare

"W-what do you mean to say?" Her heart started to beat at the unstatic speed, just at the mere thought of Lucas appearing.

As expected, Austin simply nodded his head to give her a firm answer, "Yes, this is the truth. My contacts told me that Lucas is trying to get you back by hook or crook."

"And this is simply because he has to compete with his brother. The illegitimate son who has appeared out of nowhere." Austin explained but that explanation was of no use to her.

Her mind was already in a daze at the earlier thought. 'If he appears...will Javier give me back? No, he won't..' as far as she recalled, he is totally against her exchange.

However, will his words count in case his father decides and fixes everything prior to his knowledge?

Lifting her eyes, she stared at him with her fright, "If..Lucas comes..so.. mother and father..what will happen to them?"

"They are here to get you, Jennifer. Now that you aren't agreeing to this, I think Lucas is taking a step forward towards you." Austin answered honestly.

Yet, Jennifer wasn't convinced. Why will a man like Lucas, actually go to this length to get her back? She had no idea, nor any clue in her hand right now.

Just the situation sounded like she got more complicated with her hands turning into a fist already.

Her brows shifted from their original place to recall her own wedding and how she was kidnapped.

"If that man actually comes here, this means that he has planned something. His ultimate motive is something else and marrying me is simply a stepping stone." her answer made Austin take a step forward towards her.

Coming to face her closely, he looked into her eyes straight, "You are correct. He has something to prove but we have no idea what he plans to do, nor can we imagine this."

"But we can't just sit and keep our hands on our laps and wait for him to make his appearance here. You know, I can't go with him." her determination was clear through her voice where Austin found it hard to refute.

The tinge of unhappiness started to linger and his face said, "Why?"

"Because Javier is my husband." being blunt in her answer, knowing that might hurt Austin, but it was needed.

She had interested in giving him false hopes when her heart belonged to someone else.

No, she can't do injustice with him. Calling him here was the sole mistake she committee on her part

Subconsciously, Austin was in a daze for a few seconds before his eyelids lowered on the floor beneath them. Taking a deep breath, he somehow managed to make himself feel the sentiments that were hard to pass by.

Noticing the same, Jennifer didn't speak anything. But the silence that lay down with the layers was simply too thick to break.

It was awkward, almost making her not feel the deep sadness of his, which washed over and for explaining. "Austin…"

"You don't have to say, Jennifer. I understand that I'm wrong and there is no need for you to actually say things." Austin spoke while lifting his head up with chin high, "You are his wife, Mrs. Johnsons. I agree. But you aren't safe here."

"Neither will I be safe there?"

"That is your thought. At least, I have controls and can get you lifted back abroad. You know this, we have your contacts. Our boss will eventually help us there." hearing this, Jennifer's lips were sealed into a straight line.

No words seemed to come out of her mouth, despite her efforts to say. 'Boss? God no…it is better for me to stay away from them. If Javier learns that I have befriended those people, he will be seriously mad…'

Getting him on his nerves was the last thing she craves for. And facing his devil side and wrath? She could already fold her hands to it.

Lack of response from her made Austin alarmed. His eyes narrowed, "Don't tell me...you forget about him?"

"N-No...I didn't but I don't wish to involve them in this. You are fine but not them…."

Her answer wasn't liked by Austin. Several times he tried to learn about her reluctance to take any help from them and it wasn't' even understood by him. 'She knows that if we help her, she will be fine..'

'Yet she always denies that help, trying to get things done on her own…' In contrast to her nature, he will probably never find answers to the same.

"Je-"

KNOCK! KNOCK!

Immediately, Jennifer and Austin's reflexes worked as they turned their face in the door's direction. "W-Who is there?"

"Ms. Taylor, breakfast for you." She heard the voice Butler, but her hand started to feel sweaty.

Subconsciously, her face turned in Austin's way, signaling him to go out of the door of the balcony and get out here. "Y..You just go out, Austin!"

Before he could have replied, she walked on her own to open the door of the balcony, before giving him a light push to go out.

Even, without showing any reluctance, Austin immediately did as instructed to him

"Ms. Taylor, are you fine? Please open the door.." she heard the voice again when Jennifer answered, "Y-yes! Just a moment!"

Locking the door of the balconies again, Jennifer closed the curtain. Climbing on her bed, to take the blanket over her body, she yelled, "DOOR IS OPEN! You can come in.."

As she said this, the knob was opened when Butler entered with a tray in his hand. Jennifer sat on her bed without moving or showing any expressions but dumbness.

There was slight irritation, and anger that surfaced, with the last night's talks, but the tinge of horror and fright never came to showcase over her face.

Butler kept the breakfast over the bed, in front of her with a glass of juice as well. Throughout, Jennifer kept her eyes down without meeting him.

But just when he was going to leave, she heard him say, "Ms. Taylor, Young Master asked me to please take your medicines on time. Prescription lies on the side."

Hearing this, Jennifer normally shook her head in agreement but didn't utter a single word. All she did was wait for him to leave without the sign of finding anything wrong.

On getting her approval, Butler bowed before he closed the door from outside, making a deep sigh escape Jennifer's lips.

'This was a close one…' her gaze traveled toward her heart to clutch it lightly to only move her gaze towards the windows.

'I can't let Lucas take me. Probably, not going out for the next few days is the best option…'

Only if she knew, her worst nightmare would come true very soon...
