Chapter 383 - Your Husband Is Dead!

The door of her ward was opened instantly and the person she came across, made her sense the disgust in her heart.

"What are you doing here?" Jennifer asked with the coldness that lingered.

"I was here to actually pay you a visit after what happened.." Austin replied as he stepped inside and closed the door behind him.

Walking close by her side, he placed a bouquet on the side of her bed that had fresh roses. "For you..."

"I don't need artificial things from an artificial person like you... someone who wears a mask all the time.."  Jennifer's teeth gritted when she recalled how easily he had figured out what is best for her, without taking her opinion into account.

"Jennifer...don't act like a spoiled brat." Austin sat by her side when he looked at her face with curved eyes, "You are the apple of my eye. Someone for whom I'm ready to give my life for.."

"And yet you thought of actually letting me die by the hands of Lucas there?" Jennifer found this to be extremely nonsense being played in front of her eyes.

A scoff left her mouth when she kept her hand over her chest, "Also, my life now resides with my husband."

"And you, yourself said to Lucas to shoot my life, my love. How did I end up here? Because of you, someone like you who had asked Lucas to go after Javier's life!" Jennifer remembered each detail.

Her mind can never move that immediate memory out of her mind. He was the one who had actually brought her to this place, where she was at.

The hand behind her misery, began when she called him and to put her trust over this freaking man!

Initially, Austin kept quiet and lowered his face. But Hannah knew this prominent fact that the man was only acting in front of them. "Stop making sad faces as if you care about her, Austin."

"Don't interfere in this, Hannah! You are no one, so keep out!" Austin snapped at Hannah, making Hannah look annoyed.

The frustration engulfed her face, "I'm interfering? She is here because of you! You never asked her what she wanted! Raise your voice again and I'll snap your head!"

"And you think I have no idea what was going on between you and that bastard's old friend?" Hearing this, even Jennifer felt somewhat surprised.

Somewhere, she knew that something was surely going on but she never asked Hannah outstrangerously. Simply because she felt that if it was of any importance, Hannah would tell herself.

And Jennifer was herself absorbed to resolve issues of her own, which had more prominent value in her life.

As she traced her eyes in Hannah's direction, she saw her cheeks being puffed. Moreover, she looked extremely uncomfortable at these wordings, as if it brought a displeasing memory.

'This man himself is the worst memory to remember...' she thought to herself but didn't voice her opinion aloud.

However, as she looked back at Austin who sat to her left, she openly told him, "You did what felt right and now, I will do what is right. Go out from here. I don't wish to see your face!"

"Jennifer! Don't act like a fool! You are not even safe here, with Lucas!"

A frown curved on Austin's forehead as tried to showcase his major and chief concern but it didn't impact Jennifer's expressions of anger.

In contrast, it only increased her fury, but then, a meaningful smile spread very soon when she answered, "Isn't the biggest threat to me, are you Austin? I don't know who exactly...are you?"

"You aren't Austin, I knew when we met back at the base. You have changed, you weren't like this. So..for me, the biggest threat is someone like you. A friend....who is an enemy in the shape coat of a friend!" Jennifer's sharp tone made Austin's breathing deepen.

Jennifer knew that she was on the edge of finding out many things.

It won't impact her much if she even has to lose Austin because back in her mind, she considered him to be the traitor, the moment he asked Lucas to actually shoot Javier.

"You!!" Austin's face was hard to ignore when his fingers were clearly converted into a fist.

She knew that he is acting to be sweet and is controlling his anger but that never mattered to her anymore

"You're still...taking out the grudge of the husband of yours who is already dead!"

Austin spoke without realizing what he said but then, the corner of his eyes lifted to see Jennifer still expressions.

He was doubtful, hoping for her to be shocked, scream. But he received no action from her.

'Wait....why is she not responding and raging up like before?' he bluntly told her that her husband died...is she still hopeful?

For the next few minutes, Jennifer only observed Austin as if she was in touch with a strange man, whom she hadn't even seen in the past few years.

It shocked her, that he took such a deep thought for her and Javier.

But nevertheless, jealousy brings the worst out of a person, so it is in his case. But the only thing she made clear was, she wasn't interested in keeping any kind of relationship with this man anymore.

After taking her time, Jennifer took a deep breath. But this time, she didn't range up or get angry.

Rather, Jennifer simply massaged her temples when she looked at this man in front of hers, "You think that your opinion matters to me? You're wrong... and for my husband, you are most welcome to think whatever you want but remember, try badmouthing him once again and you will not see the dawn the next morning.."

"I might be injured but...if I use my fist..." Her brows lifted from its place with a meaningful glare, "Do you wish to be the victim of the same? Hmm?"
