CH 4.2

Pampered Little Angel (2)

“I saw a candy store on the way back just now, so I bought some.” Ram said as if nothing had happened, and took out a pouch of candies from his pocket. He was about to open it and feed it to Lucia.

“Uh…” Athos was a little awkward, wondering if this was a good time to say that he also bought candies.

“… Athos.” Anna saw through everything.

Athos touched his nose and took out the candies, “Actually, I also…”

“Wow, there’s so much candy, I’m so happy!” Lucia jumped off the chair and cried out happily in a cute manner, “Lucia loves Daddy and Brother so much!”

“You’re all spoiling her too much!” Anna said angrily, snatching all the candies from Athos and Ram’s hands. She glared at Lucia sternly, “You’ve already eaten candy today!”

The three being yelled at shrank their necks involuntarily.

“Now eat!” Anna ordered while putting the candies on the shelf.

Athos found that there was another packet of candies on the shelf. He and Ram tacitly exchanged glances and sat in front of the dining table obediently.

It was completely dark after dinner. In order to save lamp oil, after they said good night to each other, they all went back to their respective rooms to sleep.

Lucia obediently laid on the bed, and looked at Anna with big watery eyes while the latter tucked the blanket neatly for her and closed the window.

“This is not Aranthal. Children will be kidnapped when they go out to play. Lucia, please be good and don’t go out.” Anna warned.

“I know, I’ll be good.” Lucia swore.

Anna didn’t believe it at all and decided to buy a lock for the windows tomorrow. She tirelessly painted Serancha as a den of dragons and tigers, a paradise for criminals.

Lucia behaved well as she listened to Anna’s warning, then said obediently, “Mommy, good night.”

“Good night.” Anna closed the door.

After a second, she pushed the door open again, “You’re absolutely not allowed to go out!”

“I know.” Lucia said obediently.

This time, it took a while until she heard the door close at the other end of the corridor. Then, Lucia lifted her blanket and sat up, “Wuaa, it’s finally over!”

Her ears were about to grow calluses!

She was not a fool, how could she run around!

Lucia walked around the room barefooted while humming, and suddenly asked, “Are you there, Mr. Mystery?”

“Yes.” A low and pleasant voice rang out.

“Wow, you actually kept watching me, you’re a pervert!” Lucia was extremely disgusted, “Did you peep when I took a bath!?”

“It’s just like when a human is observing an insect habitat box. Whether the insects were mating or laying eggs, you people wouldn’t feel anything. It’s the same for me.” Mystery explained, “You don’t need to be embarrassed, Lucia.”

“Why should I be the one to be embarrassed?” Lucia asked incredulously, “You are the pervert!”

“U…un, is that so.” Mystery was persuaded, “Then I will avoid your private time in the future, my little lady.”

“The future is the future, and the past is the past. You can’t treat them the same.” Lucia said shrewdly, “You have to remember that you owe me a lot, Mystery.”

“Of course, then what should I do so that this lovely lady can forgive me?” Mystery’s voice was smiling; he had obviously guessed Lucia’s answer.

“Give me a gold coin and I’ll treat it as if nothing happened.” Lucia said solemnly.

Mystery laughed happily.

Lucia walked barefoot to the window, then leaned against the edge of the window to look outside towards Serancha at night.

It wasn’t pitch black outside the window; there were colorful lights flashing across the two streets, illuminating the entire sky.

“It’s so bright,” Lucia was a little curious, “Is Serancha so lively at night?”

“Not all of it.” Mystery’s voice sounded from Lucia’s side, as if there was a person standing next to her, “That’s Serancha’s red light district.”

“Wow.” Lucia sighed, “It’s amazing, some industries in Serancha are really developed.”

“It’s nothing surprising. As long as there are living things, the desire to reproduce will not disappear.” Mystery said humorously, “Of course, our little lady has no such needs.”

“I’ll need it sooner or later.” Lucia said pompously. Mystery laughed again.

Lucia saw a black figure walking through the street, “Who is that?”

“Huh?” Mystery’s voice carried some interest, “It’s a priest.”

“Why did the priest come out so late?” Lucia said puzzledly.

“This is the priest of the Moon Maiden. It’s time for him to work right now.” Mystery’s voice was somewhat mysterious.

“The Moon Maiden?” Lucia didn’t pay much attention to information about gods. It was the first time she had heard about this goddess, “Is she the goddess of the moon?”

“No.” Mystery answered with a laugh, “She is the patron saint of some gentlemen and ladies who work hard at night.”

“…I think I understand.” Lucia rolled her eyes, “You gods have so many domains.”

“Of course, gods who lose their domain will gradually be forgotten by humans, become weaker, and finally fall.”

“Wow, there’s even competition for work.” Lucia sighed and asked worriedly, “Then what is your domain?”

“Me? I don’t have a domain.”

It seemed that he really was a bootleg god, Lucia thought sympathetically.

“It doesn’t matter, as your follower, I will definitely help you think about it.” Lucia said thoughtfully, “Don’t worry, before you fall, I will definitely find you a domain.”

“Then I’ll thank you in advance, my lovely lady.”

After having this conversation, Lucia was also feeling a little sleepy. She glanced at the colorful sky outside the window again, then closed the curtains and laid down on the bed. She pulled up the blanket to cover her up to her nose and said, “I’m going to sleep!”

“Good child.” Mystery said softly.

“Good night, Mr. Mystery.”

“Good night, Miss Lucia.”
