“You’re back. Didn’t you say earlier that you wouldn’t personally appear? Why are you still not at the competition venue?” Grandpa Jing saw through his pretense with a smile.
Jing Yan coughed awkwardly. He caught a glimpse of He Miao holding the dog and looking at him curiously. His heart skipped a beat, but he still kept a straight face. “If I didn’t go, they’ll ruin the Jing family’s reputation.”
Grandpa Jing raised an eyebrow, but did not expose his selfishness. He smiled and said, “You did a good job this time, but it was also thanks to Miaomiao that we were able to catch Zhou Heng this time.”
Only then did Jing Yan raise his eyes and look at He Miao. He said without changing his expression, “Even if she wasn’t here, I would still have made a move.”
Grandpa Jing pursed his lips. He did not want to talk to his grandson who did not mean what he said. He pulled He Miao’s hand and led her into the house.

Jing Yan blushed and turned his head away. He coughed. “What does it have to do with me where she goes?”
“Really?” Grandpa Jing laughed. “Then why did you let her stay at the house?”
Jing Yan denied it. “I thought you would want her to come.”
“Of course I want her to come.” Grandpa Jing patted the seat next to him. He was about to ask Jing Yan to sit down and interrogate this kid whose attitude had changed 180-degrees when He Miao suddenly came down from upstairs.
He immediately stopped joking and asked with concern, “Are you going out?”
He Miao nodded and said in full detail, “I just told my classmate about renting a house. She said that she happened to know of an empty house and asked me to go over to take a look. If she can, she could get me a lower price.”
“That’s a good thing!” Grandpa Jing sneaked a glance at Jing Yan’s gloomy face as he laughed. He changed the topic and said, “But you don’t have to worry. If you don’t like it, you can continue to stay at grandpa’s place. Just take it as spending more time with me.”
“I understand, Grandpa Jing.” He Miao said goodbye to him with a smile and left the house.
She was just mentioning it in passing. She did not expect Xu Meng to really help her find a house. It was a pleasant surprise.
She and Xu Meng had agreed to meet at the entrance of a housing estate not far from the school, but it was not easy to get a taxi in the villa where the Jing family house was located.
“Where are you going? I’ll give you a ride.”

He was about to say something to ease the atmosphere when he saw He Miao turn around and walk toward the front gate. He had no intention of wasting time with Jing Yan at the entrance. Jing Yan’s face darkened at once.
He smacked the steering wheel hard and got out of the car in frustration. The moment he entered the door, he saw Grandpa Jing drinking tea calmly. When he saw him, he looked at him with a strange expression.
Jing Yan quickly hid his anger and expressionlessly went to the room the butler had prepared for He Miao. He stole the stupid dog and locked it in his room.
He Miao walked for a long time before she managed to hail a taxi. When she arrived at the agreed location, Xu Meng was standing at the entrance of the estate, her toes tapping the ground as she spoke to a boy in a coy manner.
He Miao walked closer and realized that the person was the class rep, Li Ming!
Xu Meng took her hand in surprise when she saw her. “You’re finally here. Let me tell you some good news. My uncle’s house is opposite the class rep’s grandmother’s house!”
