Chapter 116 - 116 Newlyweds

116 Newlyweds

When He Miao walked out of the house and saw Jing Yan, who had been waiting for her downstairs early in the morning, she had the answer to everything.

“You’re the one who sent me back.” He Miao looked at him with certainty, her eyes full of helplessness.

Jing Yan nodded honestly and threw the keys to her. “You’re not allowed to drink outside next time. You’re a terrible drinker.”

“Ah?” He Miao took the key in disbelief and asked nervously, “Did I go crazy from drinking?”

“Yeah, it’s embarrassing.” Jing Yan exaggerated on purpose and then opened the car door. “Get in the car. If I didn’t bring you back last night, the consequences would be unimaginable.”

He Miao nodded her head doubtfully. She sat in the car and looked at Jing Yan gratefully. “Thank you, brother.”

The man’s face instantly darkened. He stared at the steering wheel in his hand, his expression dark. “You said last night that you didn’t want me to be your brother anymore.”

“It can’t be?” He Miao’s heart was filled with gratitude towards Jing Yan. He had saved her life, so how could she say such ungrateful words when she was drunk?

Jing Yan pretended to be angry and knocked her on the forehead. “So you have to treat me to dinner tonight as punishment. I’ll eat the food you make.”

She had only left a few of her mooncakes at home yesterday, and the rest had been given to her classmates. Jing Yan was very dissatisfied that he could only eat her food secretly when he was in his dog form, so he took the opportunity to make a request while she was being fooled by his words.

He Miao agreed without a second thought. After fastening her seat belt, she said with a smile, “I’ve left some mooncakes for you. You can give them to Grandpa Jing tonight.”

Jing Yan’s driving suddenly froze. He coughed dryly when he received the surprised gazes of the people around him. His expression returned to normal, and he agreed lightly.

She wondered if He Miao would fly into a rage and beat the dog up tonight when she found out that the mooncakes she made had long since been stolen and eaten.

In the classroom, Xu Meng was holding her phone and scrolling through the messages in disbelief.

He Miao sat beside her and asked curiously, “What are you looking at?”

When Xu Meng saw her, she quickly asked her about yesterday’s situation out of concern. She was relieved to know that she had returned home and continued to talk to her about the strange things on the internet. “I don’t know what happened this morning, but all our dance videos that were uploaded online were deleted!”

“The moderators did it?” He Miao furrowed her brows and turned on her phone. As expected, it was filled with messages from netizens asking for a video, but no one dared to post it again.

“Only the government can pull off such a big show, but why? We didn’t break any rules!” Xu Meng resentfully refreshed the internet and uploaded the video over and over again. In the end, it was quickly blocked by the official platform, so she could only give up and beat her chest and stamp her feet.

He Miao patted her shoulder gently and consoled her, “Forget it. It’s just a dance anyway. It’s not a big deal.”

Xu Meng also knew that since this kind of behavior was incited by the officials, they could do nothing about it. She could only sigh and change the topic. “Goddess, how’s the matter of you selling the formula?”

He Miao did not have the time to read her emails with all the things that had happened recently.

When she heard her mention it, she opened her email and saw that all kinds of businesses had sent her contracts and invitations to meet.

He Miao took a quick look at the prices and picked the one that offered the most and might make a good contact in the future.

Xu Meng watched her type from the side and sighed with some heartache. “Miaomiao, this is your blood, sweat, and tears. It’s such a pity to sell it just like that.”

He Miao’s heart ached for her original recipe, but that was all she could do now.

She needed a lot of money to buy expensive ingredients, only then could she make more perfumes.

He Miao negotiated the price online and rejected their request to meet. After receiving the money, she sent the recipe over.

Fortunately, this was not the only original formula He Miao had. She had ordered a batch of raw materials online and was going to put them in the laboratory to use for her own perfume.

As expected, Jing Yan came to pick her up after school.

He Miao followed him into the car. The two of them went to the supermarket to buy the ingredients first before taking a walk back home.

Jing Yan chuckled as he helped her wash the vegetables, which drew He Miao’s suspicious gaze.

Did this silly girl realize that what they were doing now was very much like a newly-wedded couple?
