The four of them walked out from the house and were prepared to go to the wine cellar. Luo Shuyan noticed another bungalow not far from them, which was around 10 meters away. She hadn’t noticed it at first. The house that they had walked out from was already very beautiful, and she hadn’t expected the other bungalow to be even more beautiful.
From the exterior, it was clear that this building was newer than the other. That building had some aging to its walls, with boston ivy crawling all over. The design brought her back to the olden days where the design of houses were noble and solemn.
Guo Weikang noticed Luo Shuyan’s action and proceeded to gaze in the same direction.
He was in a very good mood today, and was talking more than usual. “It’s been a long time since someone has stayed there. However, it is regularly cleaned. I overheard something. Tianyuan, do you know who’s house that is? It belongs to the Lu family. The Lu family shouldn’t be messed with. Their ancestors used to be high ranking officials, and the parent’s generation were part of the red capitalist movement. Anyway, they are a force to be reckoned with in Jing City. The gossip worthy part of their family isnt the fact that they’re rich, instead, rumors say that the bungalow we see there is the marital house of the Lu family’s only son and his wife.”
Luo Tianyuan wasn’t interested in other people’s business. However, since his best friend had such a strong urge to gossip, he figured that it wouldn’t have been nice for him to interrupt him.
On the other hand, Luo Shuyan had an immense interest in this. She was perceptive and looked at Guo Weikang and said, “If it’s a marital house, why hasn’t anyone stayed here in a long time?”
“There are two rumors going round, and I’m not sure which one is accurate. The first one says that Mrs. Lu passed away in an accident, whereas another says that Mrs. Lu and Mr. Lu are divorced and she has left the country.” Guo Weikang laughed and said, “We are merely spectators when it comes to the dramatic life of the rich. There’s no way we’d ever know the truth, everything is merely hearsay.”
Luo Tianyun didn’t like his daughter knowing too much about the relationship between adults. He stared at Guo Weikang as a signal for him to stop.
Shen Yan wasn’t very interested in things like this, so he found the topic particularly boring.
He was someone who’d easily ruminate about an issue when it arises. He figured that there was something off about Guo Weikang, but he couldn’t put his finger on it. A usual child his age would stop thinking about it and turn to focus on something else. Nevertheless, he didn’t. The more he couldn’t understand, the more he wanted to actually understand.
This area was a secluded place and it was time to eat. Guo Weikang drove them back to the city center for food.
Along the way, he talked non-stop.
However, one good thing was that it prevented him from asking about the situation with Luo Tianyun’s company.
“You can now leave Ning City with your daughter. That place is too small, and the education and healthcare system is nowhere as good as in the big cities. We have a few clients who tried all means to allow their children to study in Jing City. Some look even further and have plans to send their children overseas to study.”
This was an issue that frustrated Luo Tianyuan.
Of course, he hoped that his daughter would be able to study in Jing City in the future, if not, he wouldn’t have planned to purchase properties here anyway.
These were his current thoughts. However, as a parent, he was conflicted. On one hand, he hoped that his daughter would have a bright future, on the other, he didn’t want his daughter to face any challenges. Thus, he was oscillating between these two thoughts.
In the end, he decided that when his company was in a more stable position, he would leave Ning City with his daughter.
Luo Tianyuan unapologetically acted like a poor man in front of his best friend. “I don’t have the means to do so…”
He was telling the truth. As of now, he didn’t have the ability to move his family to Jing City. It wasn’t the financial aspects of things, instead, it was in terms of their daily lifestyle.
“Our life in Ning City is not bad. There’s someone to take care of her daily needs, and she’s used to living there. We’ll talk about the future when the future comes.”
