CH 17.2

Luo Shuyan tossed and turned in bed. It was true, after being a kid for so long, she couldn’t help but also fall into the trap of being childish. She attempted difficult poses to attract Shen Yan’s attention.

True enough, Shen Yan noticed her and calmly said, “Do you want to know?”

Luo Shuyan was angered.

If he was acting this way at such a young age, what more when he was older? He needed to pray that he remained as good looking as he was now, if not, he wouldn’t be charming as soon as he’s an adult.

She expressionlessly said, “Sure, if you want to.”

Shen Yan laughed. Without waiting for Luo Shuyan to react, he got serious and said, “I have a hunch that the person who is looking to buy a house is your father, not Uncle Guo.”

Luo Shuyan sat up from her seat.

She stared at him with wide eyes and shook her head. “You must be joking!”

Her father? Someone who is looking to buy that huge bungalow? No way!

They weren’t wealthy!

Shen Yan wasn’t anxious to explain himself. “Then, do tell. If it were Uncle Guo who was looking to buy the house, why did he talk to your father as if he were a salesperson?”

Luo Shuyan rebutted. “I’m sure he was just contemplating. That was why he kept pointing out the advantages of buying the bungalow. You might think that he was promoting the place to us, while I felt like he was expressing how much he liked the house.”

“Why would Uncle Luo ask for your opinion about the house? He certainly didn’t ask me.” Shen Yan said.

Luo Shuyan replied, “It’s because you had such a stoic expression, no one would dare talk to you.”

“I noticed something else. When you said that you liked the house, Uncle Guo immediately looked towards your father, and your father even nodded.”

“…”

“No matter what, Uncle Guo doesn’t seem like someone who is interested in buying properties. Instead, he seems like someone who is trying to sell properties. If he is, then he’d only ramble on and on about the perks of buying the property to a prospective buyer.” Shen Yan confidently continued, “I’m saying that this is how I feel, and I think Uncle Luo is the one who’s planning to buy the bungalow.”

“…”

This was such a sloppy explanation. Is this purely based on ‘feelings’?

Shen Yan continued when he noticed her staring at him, “Try to recall what happened this afternoon.”

He knew that Luo Shuyan was a smart girl. However, like what his mother told him, as the saying goes, “You won’t know the real Mountain looks because you’re within the Mountain.” Luo Shuyan was Uncle Luo’s daughter, and the two of them have relied on each other ever since Shuyan was born. It was likely that Luo Shuyan couldn’t tell what was going on with her father because she was used to him being that way. Plus, he was good at acting.

Luo Shuyan uncontrollably thought about what happened earlier that day.

She hadn’t taken whatever Guo Weikang said to heart. However, when she thought about it, there were many instances that seemed off.

Uncle Guo was overly enthusiastic to meet them. She could describe him in one word — A salesman.

If she were to think of him as a real estate salesman, then, who would he be selling the house to? Of course, it’s no brainer that it’s supposed to be the potential buyer of the house.

And who might that be??

The answer was clear.

When Shen Yan noticed the change in Luo Shuyan’s expression, he said, “Actually, I found it odd when your father managed to buy a car. Uncle Luo made it seem super easy to buy a car. Uncle isn’t someone who’d exaggerate and lie, so how could he have acted as if CNY140,000 was nothing? And then proceed to borrow money from others to buy the car? No matter what, I feel like something’s off.”

The two children started to recall the odd things that Luo Tianyuan had done.

When Luo Shuyan ignored the fact that he was her father, she realized that something was wrong with him.

Luo Shuyan trembled as she said, “Then, how much does the bungalow cost?”

The show broadcasted on the television happened to be talking about housing prices, so Shen Yan pointed at it and said, “It says that there is real estate up for sale. My mom pays attention to the real estate market and I remember her saying that this would mean the square meter price property, which is CNY3,000 per square meter. So… the bungalow would be even more expensive, right??”

Luo Shuyan estimated and figured that the house they’d seen today was at least 200 square meters.

Second-hand houses were cheaper than newly built ones, but no matter what, bungalows Were expensive… It’ll be at least hundreds of thousand, right?!

Her mind went blank. A few hundred thousand! A few hundred thousand!

This isn’t a dream, right??

She didn’t think this made sense?! Just as she thought that her family was going bankrupt, she found out that she’s actually a second-generation rich kid. This was out of this world!
