CH 46.1

Lorren currently had a hole in his chest.

If he was a human being, then he would have been dead by now. Although the injury looked quite serious, fortunately, he was a grim reaper, therefore,  as long as he recuperates in the Black Region, he would get better.

After Xie Jianwei settled him down, he didn’t linger and left with Little Skeleton.

As the two of them walked by, many reapers glanced in their way.

They weren’t looking at Xie Jianwei. Their eyes were specifically focused on the black-robed man beside him. All of them thought that he was Xie Jianwei’s new messenger,  so they were very curious.  They wanted to know who he was, however, the robe covered Little Skeleton’s entire figure.

Blood is needed to make a contract. Xie Jianwei was pretty sure that the moment Skeleton Lu Li shows his face,  nobody would think that he’s his messenger, because forget about blood — a skeleton doesn’t even have any flesh.

Xie Jianwei took Little Skeleton back to his room, which was beautifully decorated with heavy curtains, soft carpet, fluffy cushioned seats, and a gorgeous tea set.

Xie Jianwei pointed to the chair next to him, “Sit here.”

Little Skeleton looked at the soft seat, but he didn’t dare sit.

Xie Jianwei chuckled, “You don’t have any thorns on your buttocks.”

Little Skeleton paused, walked over slowly, and sat on the soft chair.

The seat’s smooth and comfortable texture apparently greatly pleased him because it’s as if small flowers suddenly bloomed all around the expressionless Little Skeleton again.

Xie Jianwei was amused by his reactions, and he asked, “Where have you been all this time?”

Skeleton Lu Li wrote, <I don’t know.>

Xie Jianwei pondered for a moment then continued to ask, “Do you know your name?”

Little Skeleton shook his head.

“Let me give you a name.”

The little skeleton quickly nodded his head up and down in such a wide arc and one couldn’t help but worry that he might shake off a few bones.

“Lu Li.” Xie Jianwei said, “Do you like that name?”

Mr. Skeleton couldn’t tell the difference between good and bad, but he felt that the words coming out of Xie Jianwei’s mouth were like a beautiful piece of music.

< Like it.>

He wrote these two words.

Xie Jianwei explained to him: “Li means to ‘to part from’, but Lu Li has nothing to do with ‘separation’.”

He was a little bit confused, but Mr. Skeleton still nodded with half-understanding.

Xie Jianwei continued: “Lu Li means ‘brilliant color’.” He smiled slightly, his eyes softly looking at Little Skeleton, “Lu Li, you’re like the brilliant sun— my sun.”

Mr. Skeleton sat upright, and as he listened to that pleasant voice saying those words, something was slowly beating in his chest without any internal organs.

The sun?

Xie Jianwei, is the sun— his sun— and just a smile from him illuminated his gloomy, dark life.

Xie Jianwei’s previous mission failed, and the corresponding death points were deducted from the scythe. Points will be awarded for success, and points will be deducted for failure. Of course, even if the death points were all deducted, Xie Jianwei wouldn’t fall from a five-star to a four-star, but it was still a shame.

He could have been promoted to six stars, but he unprecedentedly took a step backward, which was really unpleasant.

That great demon who was with Yán Kè…. Is it really Lu Li?

Xie Jianwei was not sure for the time being, but there’s no need to rush. Whether it was Lu Li or not, they would meet again.

Because the gears of the plot have begun to move.

Xie Jianwei enjoyed the rare peace before the storm.

Mr. Skeleton was particularly fun, simple, serious, and extremely smart. What Xie Jianwei taught him, he learned quickly, and he mastered it thoroughly.

Xie Jianwei felt as if he was raising a young Lu Li, who was full of endless liveliness all the time, and because he couldn’t  remember anything, Mr. Skeleton was very curious.

Xie Jianwei has a preference for a particular yellow fruit. Although the said fruit tasted delicious and sweet, it has a thick shell, like an iron ball, without any gaps. Moreover, the fruit was said to be a demon expelling body, which naturally repels magic. If you use magic to open it, the flesh inside will quickly change flavor and become rotten.

There are only two ways to eat it without using magic: one is to find an extremely sharp sharp tool to break the shell, and the other is to smash it directly.

The difficulty with the former method is that sharp weapons without magical fluctuations are hard to find; while with the latter, smashing the fruit’s shell means smashing it’s flesh inside which would result not only to an unpleasant texture, but also a somewhat bad taste.

But these problems could be easily solved with Mr. Skeleton’s existence.

With a stroke of his fingertips, even copper and iron walls could be easily split in half.

His phalanges do not contain any magic,  which was enough proof to see how strong and hard his bones are.

He peeled one, and Xie Jianwei would eat it with joy.

Seeing Xie Jianwei’s enthusiasm, Mr. Skeleton peeled more vigorously. He couldn’t wait to peel all the fruits-as long as Xie Jianwei wanted it.

The two of them were chatting and eating when suddenly, they heard a knock on the door.

Xie Jianwei got up and said to Lu Li, “Wait here.”

Mr. Skeleton nodded his head.

Xie Jianwei put on his cloak and went out. Standing outside was a bewitching spirit messenger.

This messenger is a rabbit with a pair of big fluttering ears, red eyes, and a small mouth, obvioulsy born with a cute face.

“Your Excellency, this is the information you asked for.”

His master was also a five-star Grim Reaper and had some friendship with Xie Jianwei and Lorren. Now that Xie Jianwei was in a bit of a trouble, he could naturally seek for him.

“Thank you. Please send my regards to your master.”

“Yes,” said the rabbit spirit, and folding his ears, he continued, “If there’s nothing else you need me for, your Excellency, I will go back first.”

Xie Jianwei responded, “Okay.”

The information in his hand contains a method to unbind himself.

The rope that Yán Kè used to tie him before probably contained some kind of spell since he hadn’t recovered his magic until now.

Fortunately, grim reapers also studies a lot of things so they knew how to break some spells. Asking Lorren would be have been his first choice but given with Lorren’s state, exchanging even a few words with him would take a while.

After Xie Jianwei went out, Mr. Skeleton continued to peel fruits seriously. His finger bones were too easy to use therefore his work efficiency was extremely high and in a short amount of time, a small “fruit mountain” was piled up.

Xie Jianwei hadn’t returned yet, but he had already peeled all the fruits.

After sitting blankly for a while, the little skeleton looked at the fruit that had been half bitten.

This was the fruit that Xie Jianwei hadn’t finished eating just now. Its yellow flesh is clear and bright, and that bite made it even more beautiful.

Mr. Skeleton’s head was full of Xie Jianwei eating fruit. The way his soft and tender light pink lips becomes a bright reddish pink after being stained with juice. His action of occasionally licking those lips with the tip of his tongue. Seeing Xie Jianwei do these things inadvertently made the muddled little skeleton’s bones soft from skull to feet phalanges.

It’s so beautiful and sweet.

He didn’t know what sweetness was, but whenever he looked at Xie Jianwei’s lips, he thought that it must be sweet, so sweet that something inside him felt itchy.

Little Skeleton was immersed in his fantasy so when Xie Jianwei entered the room, he saw a rather funny scene.

Mr. Skeleton was carefully pinching a fruit with his finger bones while putting it to his mouth.

Xie Jianwei’s sharp eyes saw that it was the half- bitten one.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, Little Skeleton panicked and shoved the fruit into his mouth, then…then it rolled down the floor.

Xie Jianwei directly laughed out loud.

Little Skeleton  looked awkwardly at the fruit that fell on the ground, not knowing whether he should pick it up or not.

Xie Jianwei smiled and asked, “Want to eat?”

Little Skeleton didn’t respond and lowered his head instead.

Xie Jianwei approached him, his eyes were full of smile, and his voice lowered a lot, “Or…Do you want to kiss me?”

Little Skeleton raised his head sharply, but unfortunately, only a pair of empty black holes could be seen—otherwise, one would be able to see his nervous yet twinkling eyes.

Xie Jianwei cupped his cheek bones and looked at him seriously.

Lu Li didn’t dare move nor stare back at him.

Xie Jianwei’s eyes fell on his mouth.

No flesh, no skin.

There was nothing there but teeth.

Xie Jianwei approached him gently, his warm soft lips pressed against his teeth, and asked softly, “Do you like it?”

Little Skeleton liked it so much that he felt like he was falling apart.

He tried to nod but was afraid of bumping into Xie Jianwei. He wanted to write with his hand, but he couldn’t touch the writing board, so he could only mobilize his breath around, and give a “piupiupiu”  of airy little bubbles.

Xie Jianwei was amused by him,  “Ah-Li, you’re so cute!”

Little Bubble  turned pink again.

Xie Jianwei never thought that the little skeleton could stir up his emotions like this. Well, there’s no other way though. The one in front of him is Lu Li. They both love each other so of course, everything seemed beautiful.

Yan Ke also never thought that the Lord Marshal could act like this. This pair of love birds could still scatter dog food in this manner. Seriously, what else can he —a single dog— do but go woof woof woof?
