CH 66

“Right. The Grand Duke likes useful people.”

“You did that to me, knowing that?”

He’s your father, you’re the only one who wants to be loved, right?

A sigh escaped my gaze, as if he was looking at a lover who was trying to grab the attention of the person he loved.

I’m not happy even if I get the Grand Duke’s attention. For the sake of the mental health of many people, I am trying to live quietly as a 7-year-old kid, but I am also making them act like fact fighters. At this rate, I will become a violent girl who harms other people’s mental health.

“The difference between the Grand Duke and the Grand Prince is too far. In fact, you don’t look like a normal father-and-son.”

Again, Kirsec’s eyes fluttered wildly at the fact bomb that I threw away indifferently. Perhaps it was the pain that hit right at the sore spot that Kirsec couldn’t even get angry.

Water filled the purple eyes that trembled and stared at me as if he had stopped breathing. I stared intently at his lips, which were stubbornly trying not to cry.

“Just because the Grand Duke likes someone who is capable, doesn’t mean he’s someone to get close with. Being friendly is different.”

“I know! I still want to be recognized!”

His eyes were filled with only a desire to be recognized quickly. Or were my words too difficult for young Kirsec?

“It is never too late to receive recognition later. We’re young.”

“I am not young.”

“No. we’re young. And there are things we can only do when we’re young.”

I resolutely rejected Kirsec’s stubborn words. Watching his face engulf in shock, I tried to make it as understandable as possible for the kid.

“Now is the age at which they can understand even if we’re not good at it, and they understand even if we’re a bit childish. These are things we couldn’t do later. You have to use this privilege to make friends with the Grand Duke personally now.”

“I won’t act childish! I’m the Grand Prince!”

I wonder if he’s listening to everything I’m saying. He seemed to listen to only the parts he wanted to hear. However, I could see that he was under pressure to be proud as the Grand Prince.

Still, there is a sense of responsibility. Again, this is surprising. Usually, a kid like that doesn’t know his duties, and it’s easy to take only his rights.

Of course, I understand Kirsec’s feelings, but I don’t think he was like that either.

“Yes. I don’t know whose loss it is if they don’t get to know the Grand Duke because they don’t want to act childish.”

He gave a sad expression. Although he was suspicious, he seemed to be in agony, shaking his head quite a bit at the damaging words. Only a smile came out of the little boy’s clumsy behavior.

If Kirsec suddenly says that he was working hard, will the interest and favorability of the Grand Duke change by saying, ‘No, my son did?’

It won’t. That kid is a kid who hasn’t been able to properly control his emotions yet. Such a little kid’s false acting would quickly be revealed.

If he doesn’t have the confidence to become a true genius, it’s better to show a reaction that he can show at his age and build love as a real father-and-son.

If he was recognized from the beginning, the expectations will only increase, and there is a high probability that it will degenerate into a more business-like relationship.

If Kirsec couldn’t be outspoken like me, they’ll be a really stiff father-and-son. And Kirsec didn’t have that kind of trick.

“If I do as you say, do you mean that I would become closer to my father?”

“I don’t know how the conversation between the two of you will go, so I couldn’t guarantee that.”

Kirsec was trembling.

He was angry at my tone, but he seemed frustrated because there was no way to win with words.

“What the hell do you want me to do!”

What is with your temper? Don’t you know that it’s you who makes me say what I said? I’m afraid I’ll have to deliver him another hit. Oh, I can’t hit him. I can’t hit him because I’m afraid he’ll like it.

“I mean, you don’t have to try to look good to the Grand Duke. Just tell the story that comes to your mind. If you don’t remember anything in your life, think of keeping a diary and tell him what happened recently.”

“There’s no way my father would want to know that!”

“He’s going to want to hear that now.”

I don’t know what the future holds, but for now, I thought that Kirsec’s story would be good.

Probably, what the Grand Duke wanted from Kirsec now would be enough not to cause an accident. He must have let him grow up like that. If the Grand Duke had already emphasized to Kirsec that he had to be superior to others as the successor of the Duchy, there should be no such clumsy kid.

If the Grand Duke still respects Kirsec’s free life, it’s better to let him show a childish side. A little boy named Kirsec that speaks with the Grand Duke himself. That was my conclusion.

“How do you know that? Are you sure?”

“No. I’m not sure.”

Of course, I can’t look inside the Grand Duke. I can’t say for sure how to judge it.

“You mean you said such a dangerous thing when you weren’t even sure?”

“Aren’t you convinced when I told you to accuse me in front of the Grand Duke before?”

I sent him a bewildered look, and Kirsec clenched his teeth tightly. It was only natural that Kirsec would be left speechless when the reason he became envious of me was mentioned.

I don’t understand, I don’t think it’s logical, but he’ll get a weird feeling of wanting to do what I said.
