Volume 8 - CH 3

“No way, he’s the Demon King…”

Rurumu’s father and the village chief of the divine demons――――Razurum put his hand over his mouth as if in disbelief and muttered.

From then on, we all entered the village of divine demons.

People with white skin, dressed in white, in a white building.

It was a village with a really strange landscape, but that aside.

After seeing off the former slave divine demons who were guided to their current residence, and Nozuro, who was heading to the temple to say goodbye to his hometown, we were guided to Rurumu’s house.

It’s much bigger than the other houses. Apparently, this is a mansion where the person chosen by the village head can live.

Even though it was the first time in fifteen years that she had returned to her hometown, Rurumu entered a room in the mansion with her father and us without even saying goodbye to the rest of the family.

So i started talking.

“The fact is that I am probably the Demon King.”

“I can’t believe it…. is it true? You have the same family name as that of Gilbert, Lamprog.”

“……yes”

After a slight hesitation, I nod.

“That said, I don’t know anyone named Gilbert. I heard that my father was the head of the Lamprog family and my mother was his mistress.”

As I was saying this, I suddenly realized that Blaise, a research idiot, had a mistress, and when I thought about it, it felt strange.

The grounds for being a demon lord have increased again.

Razurum asked.

“Who is your mother?”

“I have never met her, nor have I heard from anyone in the house about her whereabouts. I don’t know if she is dead or alive.”

“Really……”

Razurum continues, furrowing his brow.

“But… your hair and eyes are the same as those of a divine demon. Besides, your age is close to that of Merosa’s child. Certainly, irrelevance is very…”

“That’s not all. Seika also has the ability to be called a demon lord. See, Seika, show father that, that.”

“Eh, what?”

When I involuntarily asked her back, Rurumu said with an annoyed look.

“Hey there. A dark-attribute flame bullet fireball that sucked in the Wraith Lord.”

“That’s not a flame bullet fireball. And you can’t shoot it during the day.”

“Okay. Then that’s fine, the one that corrodes iron.”

“… Well, if that’s about it…”

I reluctantly brought the knife Rurumu held out to me.

When i lightly chanted the mantra, the blade began crumbling due to the gallium produced by <gold eaten mercury>.

Razurum opens his eyes.

“No way… this is…!”

“It’s just like tradition, father.”

I’m a little shy about the sudden excitement of the parent and child, but I’ll say something.

“Well, this probably has nothing to do with the legend of the Demon King. There is a metal called gallium that melts human skin, and when it touches other metals…”

Razurum listened with admiration, despite the explanation that seemed to put a damper on his surprise.

“I see… it’s a magic I’ve never heard of before. Did the former demon king destroy the armaments of the human army in this way?”

“I told you so, Father.”

“No, you don’t understand me at all.”

Or rather, if you think about it more carefully, if the demon kings of the past had used similar magic, there would have been no point in explaining the mechanism.

“Seika single-handedly defeated the Astral Horde and the Wraith Lord. Even the White Hydra we would have been poisoned without Seika.”

“Does that mean you have that much power? Then…”

Razurum muttered with a grim expression.

“I guess I should think of him as a demon lord for the time being.”

It seems that the village chief of the divine demons came to the same conclusion as me in the end.

Once you’ve lost sight of him, you can’t say for sure who the demon lord is.

Both heroes and demon lords are beings that are originally found by their strength.

If you’re going to find out by factors other than force, then you have no choice but to make a judgment based on circumstantial evidence.

Razurum said in a tense voice.

“The matter is no longer something that I can judge on my own. This is a situation that affects the entire demon tribe. I need to summon

I involuntarily frowned.

As expected, it’s going to become important.

Razurum looks at me and says.

“You too… no, Demon King-sama, is that okay with you?”

Honestly, I have a lot of trouble, but considering their circumstances, it can’t be helped.

“I don’t mind, but perhaps everyone else would call me that if you do.”

Seeing me with a disgusted face, Razurum softened his expression slightly and said.

“Then, for now, let’s call you Seika-dono. Since you can’t publicize that you’re a demon lord yet, that’s more convenient.”

“That helps a lot”

“Once again, Seika-dono. Thank you for helping my daughter…and for coming back to our village.”

I couldn’t help but avert my eyes at Razurum’s straightforward words.

“……Haa”

I had no intention to play a role like a leader.

Originally, I had no intention of getting involved with the demons.

Even if you ask me to come back, this is not my hometown.

“By the way, I was wondering.”

Then, Razurum turned his attention to Amiyu and the others, who were quietly listening.

“Are they Seika-dono’s servants or something?”

“Huh? That’s not right.”

Amiyu said angrily.

“Why am I his servant?”

“just a party member”

“I’m also a follower…”

Then Mabel and Ifa also said.

Razurum didn’t seem offended, and his mouth loosened slightly.

“……Really”

“What’s wrong?”

“No… I just thought that Seika-dono was able to avoid being separated from the other party members.”

Razurum explained to me in a calm tone.

“Your father… I don’t know yet, but Gilbert fell off a cliff while protecting his companions, and ended up in this village in an accident. Ever since he settled here, he’s always been talking about his strayed companions. I was worried about that.

“Um… what kind of person was Mr. Gilbert?”

Razurum smiled lightly and answered Ifa’s question.

“He was in always in a good mood, but… he was a pleasant person. Everyone in the village liked Gilbert.”

Razurum added quietly.

“Even after something like that happened, it’s still the same.”
