Chapter 336: The Fallen Gods Valley (1)

After wandering for several days, Ji Yuan and his party soon come to a place where there were many waterfalls.

Along the way, they had battled ferocious desolate beasts but the strength of their party was too strong and most of the ferocious desolate beasts had quickly beaten a hasty retreat.

They had followed the beam of faint light in the horizon and had discovered this place; this was where the next trial was supposed to be.

Ji Yuan laughed, "This place looks so serene. It doesn't seem that this trial will be so dangerous."

Feng Minyue said quietly, "I hope that we've all learnt the lessons from the last two trials. Even if we are saints but less than 30% of the saints actually make it through the fifth level and even less will make to through to the sixth level."

Ling Feiyue nodded as she said angrily, "The last two trials really make me really furious…"

Ji Yuan interrupted with a jovial laughter, "Are you sure you're angry? Your voice is too gentle."

Ling Feiyue: …

"Ji Yuan, are you really on my side?"

"Of course I am." Ji Yuan grinned.

"But Maiden Feng is right." Little Princess said. "I've almost failed the last trial as well. For this trial, we must try to be as smart as Ji Yuan and learn from his good example."

Ling Feiyue, Shui Xisi, Bai Qianfeng, Yu Jingjing and Feng Minyue all nodded at the same time. "Agree…"

Ji Yuan laughed jovially but secretly he was thinking; I was lucky only in the last round. I've almost failed in the last round as well.

He quickly added righteously, "We ought to heed Maiden Feng's advice. It is a good advice. Cautious is always good."

All the maidens nodded as they answered together;

"Ji Yuan is right…"

"My lord is right…"

"We will follow this good advice."

After arriving at the waterfall place, they soon saw that there were hundreds of cultivators meditating in the vicinity.

Some of the cultivators appeared to be injured but their expressions were serene so their injuries were not because of a fight with the cultivators in the vicinity and were probably caused by the dangerous encounters by the desolate monsters on their way here.

At least this was Ji Yuan's quick guess.

In front stood a tall black stele and a shimmering portal; Ji Yuan and his party knew that the trial portal had already been opened.

They were just curious why there were so many hundreds of cultivators that were meditating outside the trial instead of taking their trial in the inside?

Ji Yuan was never shy so he shouted loudly to them, "Why are you all here instead of inside the trial?"

But the hundreds of cultivators purposely pretended not to hear Ji Yuan and his party.

Ji Yuan: …

He began to growl almost incoherently, "I'm such a handsome cultivator but why is it that none of the maidens here bother to take a glance at me? And why are they meditating? And why are some of them appear to be injured? Or they are just taking refuge here because it is safer around the trial zone?"

But he did not think much about it as he marched over to touch the black stele; as long as these cultivators do not disturb him or his party, he felt pretty much at ease. At least none of the men were staring at the heart moving veiled maidens in his party.

Bai Qianfeng whispered to them, "These cultivators are really in meditation. It seems that they have been inspired by some insights and are in deep meditation."

Ji Yuan nodded as he began to decipher the coded messages in the black stele with his divine sense.

"S Rank Trial?! The Fallen Gods Valley?" Ji Yuan muttered. This was the name of the trial.

All the maidens were gasping when they saw that it was an S Rank Trial; they had never expected that they would encounter an S Rank Trial so soon again.

Either they were twice lucky or twice unlucky.

But there was also a solemn look on their countenances; an S Trial won't be easy and moreover this is already an on-going trial.

Bai Qianfeng's immortal divine sense was the quickest to decipher the coded messages of the black stele so she recited out for the benefit of everyone in her party, "The trial portal will lead the cultivators to the Fallen Gods Valley. In order to overcome this trial, the cultivators must retrieve the Fallen God Relic from the deepest chasm of the valley…"

There was a perplexed look in her countenance before she continued, "Upon entering the trial, every cultivator will be given three Escape Talismans. These Escape Talismans will allow the cultivators to escape from the Fallen God Valley thrice. Upon using the talismans thrice, the cultivator will no longer be allowed to enter into the portal trial."

Ling Feiyue asked everyone, "So, are we going into the trial or not? This is an S Rank Trial."

"Or we can go elsewhere to find an easier trial?" Little Princess suggested.

"I don't understand." Ji Yuan said all of a sudden. "If this trial allows everyone to exit 3 times then why don't these cultivators just quit the trial instead after they had 'seemingly' run into difficulty? Why are they insisting on 'courting' their doom?"

Bai Qianfeng nodded, "This is something that I do not understand as well. If something inside is so difficult as to force them to quit the trial halfway then why aren't they quitting the trial? Instead they will rather be in deep meditation after they have exit before entering the trial."

Shui Xisi giggled, "That is because there must be some great rewards inside the trial or else they won't be so thick skin as to stick around here."

She had said it a little too loud and many of the sharp ear cultivators in the vicinity actually had a reaction as they opened their eyes to stare at her.

"Ji Yuan, what do you think about this?" Feng Minyue asked quietly.

Yu Jingjing was also nodding as she looked at Ji Yuan.

As a matter of fact, Ji Yuan was their de facto leader and all the other maidens were all looking at Ji Yuan to abide by his decision.

Ji Yuan frowned softly, "I suggest that we check this trial out. If it is too hard then we can definitely quit it anytime. After all, the trial is offering us three Escape Talismans. So it can't be too dangerous, am I right?"

"Actually…" Feng Minyue said quietly, "Precisely because the trial has offered us three Exit Talismans each, this is actually a most dangerous trial. Moreover, this is also an S Rank Trial as well."

Bai Qianfeng nodded, "We don't have to achieve a stellar result. If we can overcome this trial then the 6th level of the Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth will be our next destination."

Ji Yuan nodded solemnly, "Remember if it is too hard, just quit the trial. There is no need to risk your lives."

This time he did not say any farewells or wish any of the maidens good luck; by now they had all come to a mutual understanding.

So he merely took the first step as he marched to the shimmering portal in front, "Let's go!"

All the maidens nodded excitingly, "Let's go inside!"

All of a sudden Ji Yuan turned back with a sudden grin, "I love you all!"

All the maidens were startled by Ji Yuan…

The maidens were all muttering shyly, "Ji Yuan…"

Even Xiang Li was wowed. "When did Big Brother suddenly becomes so romantic?"

Before the rest of the maidens could react, he had suddenly entered into the trial portal with an awkward chuckle.

He was actually thinking; since we probably won't see one another inside the trial, I've better voiced out my innermost feeling before the trial first.

Because he was feeling awkward and lest they could laugh at him, he had quickly entered into the trial portal.
