Chapter 72 FBI In Isekai

Aion could only facepalm… to think that was his mother's goal all along… unfortunately for her, Aion couldn't find a girlfriend now. He liked mature women, but if those showed any signs of interest in him, they would be essentially criminals. If he were to show interest in girls around his age, he would be looked at by the FBI in isekai… He was in a difficult period in his life.

Regardless, Aion decided to check the other villages as soon as possible how things were there. Reading the reports was final and all, but seeing things by himself would help as well. In the end, he basically saw the same thing. Villages are not growing because of the lack of security around. He also noticed that the people around looked pretty insecure about their future. That was only natural, but it wasn't something he would read in a report.

In any case, at the end of the day, when he was heading home. Aion recalled that he told the captain of the guards to report to his home, but since he left at nine, he assumed that the guy would show up at the end of the day, which didn't happen as well as his mother told him.

"Berthan said that the captain is a hard worker and he doesn't leave his work for any reason… his turn was supposed to end today," Artemisia said.

"I suppose he is pretty famous, and then suddenly obeying orders without giving any thoughts coming from a runt would damage his position," Aion said. "Let's see if he will keep playing this game for too long."

"Rather than that, Aion, you could do something else for you to gain the respect of the people," Artemisia said. "That way, you will avoid headaches, and the people will feel more compelled to work with you."

"Such as?" Aion asked.

"Capturing the bandits and dealing with the monsters will take a while," Artemisia said. "Since it looks like there are several groups working in the area and attacking the territories near the borders. However, the reservoirs of water in the town are low since it hasn't been raining a lot this year. You can help them with that using your magic. There is a river a few kilometers away, but moving a part of it to these parts will take a while, and due to the roads, we will have to build a bridge as well to make it pass as close as possible."

"That seems like a problem that I shouldn't solve by myself and rather send some workers to deal with," Aion said.

"You are starting to think like an aristocrat… As I said, it will take a while if you use your magic, but it will take a lot more using normal means," Artemisia said.

Aion's mother had a point. If it was for the sake of his territory, he should do that… However, he believed that if he did too much, people would ask him, again and again, to solve the issue for them. He will have to find the perfect balance to avoid such an annoyance.

"I guess the best leader is the one who is followed and does not force the others to follow," Aion said.

Artemisia nodded. Aion wanted to make a good place for his mother, so following such a path was unavoidable. In any case, while he was resting and traveling, Aion leveled up the mage class a bit, but he will have to improve Meditation in all aspects to grant him even more mana recovery.

After resetting the mage class, Aion used all the points in magic to make his spells more potent and used the Improvement points to increase the efficiency of Meditation. It was evening, and few people used the wells, so Aion went to them and began to use his magic to create water. With one hundred points in magic, Aion could easily create one hundred litters of water, and with his Meditation level, he could recover all of his mana in ten minutes… Still, it wasn't nearly enough to create enough water for five thousand inhabitants.

"I guess I will treat this as my magic training for the time being," Aion thought.

Aion trained/worked like that for three hours, and then he decided to do some light physical training before going to sleep. After doing the thing with the water for several days, Aion wondered if there was an easy way to make rain, and his mother frowned when he asked.

"You wanted to learn to produce metals, and now how to make rain?" Artemisia asked. "Becoming a specialist requires you two to focus on a single element, Aion… Putting that aside, I think I have located the places where the monsters have their nests. As for the bandits, it is a bit difficult to be certain since they are smart enough to change hideouts now and then."

Aion wondered if he was being greedy. With the system, he could increase his magic, and then he would be able to allocate all of the points there and then control his mana with more ease. Thus, making his learning speed a lot higher than normal… It seemed that Artemisia assumed Aion had more talent for physical combat, so she imagined that learning the high-level magic of her ancestors would be difficult for him.

Speaking of magic, Aion felt that his mother had to tell him something important, but he couldn't recall what it was… He had too many things to consider right at the moment, so it couldn't be helped. Regardless, Aion grabbed the map that his mother made for him to investigate and look for the monsters and bandits, but then he noticed that he would have to leave for a few days.

"Mom, you can use magic to protect yourself, right?" Aion asked. "If something happens and anyone suspicious approaches, you can attack them to kill. I will deal with what comes afterward."

"You don't have to worry about that. I have a few tricks up my sleeve as well," Artemisia said while smiling. "Besides, I already made you carry a heavy burden, and I can't become even more of a nuisance."

"I think you are overthinking it, but I will trust your words that you will do what you have to do," Aion said. "I will try to return as soon as possible."
