Chapter 167 Departure

Some preparations had to be made, so the group was going to depart in two days. There was no telling when Aion would return. From what Sauros said, they will probably travel around the world on a ship for several months, in the very best case scenario, and he knew that such a thing was hard to come by in his life.

"Geez, Aion, you sure are slow," Artemisia said while they were walking around the capital and eating some sweets. Actually, only Artemisia was eating. Aion got tired after the second piece of the pie. "The king already has his eyes on her. If you take your sweet time, you will lose your golden chance."

"Is that so? I didn't notice it," Aion said. "He looked pretty calm while not showing any emotion during the talk."

"There is no mistake. My woman senses are tingling," Artemisia said. "That being said, things will be hard for them. Seris didn't look interested, and her people didn't tend to get involved with people from other nations. Usually, they only use their partners to procreate once and then disappear with the child…"

That was like the next level of running away with the responsibility instead of running away from it. Then again, judging that kind of culture with his modern world standards wouldn't make much sense. They did that kind of thing because they had to consider many other things due to their power.

"Mom, don't stay in that room all day while I am away," Aion said. "I think it would be fine if you traveled and visited some towns. No one will know that I will be gone for a while, so they won't try to say anything to you."

"I won't stay there all day, but I can't exactly move around that freely," Artemisia explained. "Some rumors will begin to spread, even if your father and the king work to get rid of them since you will be gone for a few months. No need to confirm them with me alone in other places. In any case, I will use this chance to look for some answers regarding that problem, so don't worry."

Aion had no idea how she was going to find that when nothing similar was mentioned in books. Still, there might be tips here and there. Besides, there is no such thing as wasted hard work.

In any case, Aion and Artemisia managed to relax on that day, so they felt ready for almost everything that might come. Later that day, they heard from Lexus that the king stayed the whole day with the Herandins siblings. Aion thought that he wanted to make them his allies, but not to that extent. Perhaps Artemisia was right about her senses…

Since they were going on a secret mission, the group didn't have much of a big farewell on the next day. Only those that knew about the mission met them one last time when the sun was yet to rise.

"Maybe you don't have many reasons to trust me, but I will be sure to protect your mother and not let her feel like she is in prison while you are away," Lexus said and then offered a handshake to Aion.

"I will be counting on you, father," Aion said and then accepted the handshake.

"Don't forget to brush your teeth every day, take showers, wear clean clothes, and send messages every day," Artemisia said and then offered Aion a bear hug.

"It will be hard to find Ravens in the middle of nowhere and convince them to come here, but I will see what I can do," Aion said, still feeling his ribs being crushed despite his armor.

"We will be waiting for good news once you return, have safe travels," Vangel said.

"We will do our best not to disappoint you, Your Majesty," Sauros said and then bowed slightly.

After that, Sauros and Seris nodded while looking at Aion. To save time, they would need to fly from the very beginning. Aion didn't like the idea of offering rides to strangers, but if it was to save time, then it couldn't have been helped.

While riding an earth platform, they flew upward and then north. since Aion made his skeletons fight a lot in the dungeon over the last year, the class had leveled up and improved a lot, so he could fly for fifty minutes straight, even while considering the weight and the luggage of two others.

Thanks to the ice dragon parts, Aion managed to make one class reach the necessary requirements to be upgraded, and the necromancer class also improved a lot. Still, even if it reaches the max level eventually, it looked like it would take a while for the refinement to work.

"Sorry for relying on you like this," Sauros said.

"No worries," Aion said while they flew.

"Our ship is pretty fast, so you don't have to worry about using your magic that often likes this," Sauros said.

"I assume it would be dangerous to fly over the ocean without much experience when it comes to sailing," Aion said. "One mistake and you will end up lost, after all. In any case, where are we going first?"

"To the current largest kingdom of this era," Sauros replied.
