Chapter 230 Labyrinth

At first, Aion tried to ignore the party and focus on training since he had healed from his wounds. Still, things eventually got so noisy that he could only cope with it by drinking a little. His previous constitution was pretty strong agaisnt alcohol, and despite his young age, it seemed that he was strong agaisnt it again.

"Yes! Yes! Drink more, you sulky brat!" Seris said while putting her arm over Aion's shoulder.

"Anyone would be a bit grumpy if there were so many noisy fellows nearby…" Aion said after he sobered up a little. "Anyway, you are the cling type when gets drunk, huh? You should be more self-aware. Some assholes might try to take advantage of you. You are lucky that I am a gentleman."

"Saying nonsensical things again… you really are a weird brat," Seris said. "Just shut up and enjoy the party!"

In the end, Aion decided to play a prank on Seris. While she was touching him, he could use magic to fight the toxins on her body… in the blink of an eye, he made the effects of the alcohol disappear, and then she silently moved away from him.

"It seems I was getting carried away… anyway, why am I suddenly completely sober?" Seris asked. "Ah, I feel so bad… I guess I drank too much. I am going to drink some medicine."

Aion shrugged while she was moving away. That was a poor act since he canceled the effects of the alcohol, and she wasn't supposed to be that dehydrated. She was just a bit embarrassed due to her actions…

Regardless, the party lasted for five days, and when it ended, only Aion looked alive. Despite being working, as usual, everyone looked dead inside… if it weren't for his Power Song, he could imagine them falling into the ocean while trying to work.

"IT SEEMS THAT MEN OF THE SEA LIKE TO DRINK A LOT WHEN THEY PARTY!" Aion said.

"...Why are you speaking so loudly?" Sauros asked while frowning and covering his ears.

"TO MAKE YOUR HEAD HURT," Aion said while smirking. "Anyway, what is our next destination?"

"You know… while we partied a bit too hard, we still followed the course, so we didn't waste time," Sauros said.

"Sorry… I guess I got a bit pissed since I feel like I don't have the leisure to enjoy parties," Aion said after a sigh. "I suppose seeing others taking it easy got on my nerves."

"As long as you understand that… I know that you are working hard for your mother, but you will only make things difficult for her if you don't enjoy your life," Sauros said. "Regardless, our next destination is… the largest labyrinth in the world."

"Labyrinth?" Aion asked while frowning.

???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????

"You can think of them as the next level of a dungeon… they don't exist in the area you live in, but they appear in other parts of the world," Sauros explained. "They are more dangerous to deal with since they lure monsters, animals, and people to eat them…"

"That sounds something like a conscious being would do… like a sapient monster," Aion said.

"Unfortunately, even we don't know much about them to define what they are and how they are made or appear, they just do, and defeating the guardians or the whole place won't solve the problem," Sauros said. "If dungeons are like a defense mechanism of the world, we can say that the labyrinths are like the offensive mechanism. They keep growing stronger and larger the longer they exist. They only stop working when they want… many countries in this world were abandoned due to their existence and their inability to destroy those things."

Aion had never heard of something like that, but it certainly was an interesting topic… from what he had heard, he assumed that labyrinths were monsters-like creatures, but many should have reached the same conclusion, and it wasn't something definitive…

"So, is the labyrinth targeting the Temple?" Aion asked.

"Yes, it has been doing that for three hundred years, and while until now it failed in destroying it, I can't say for sure if the labyrinth won't succeed one day," Sauros explained. "After all, the labyrinth is now larger than the biggest Territories in your homeland."

"Are you for real?" Aion said. "How massive is such a thing?"

"That is still on the smaller side," Sauros said. "I told you, they can destroy whole countries, and in the past, my people saw one that destroyed a whole continent before it disappeared completely."

"I suppose it will be fairly hard to find the temple this time…" Aion said. "The labyrinth alone will be a problem with its nature, adding to the monsters and people inside… by the way, is it just me, or is the difficulty of the missions increasing?"

"Yes… my ancestors tried to check how the temples have been, but they failed in finding them," Sauros explained. "Just using numbers isn't enough for labyrinths to be conquered. The corridors are small, there are traps, ambushes, and monsters appearing out of nowhere, and we also have to manage resources inside. As for the last location of the last artifact after this one… it will be better if you don't learn about it now. Let's take one step at a time."

Resources won't be a problem with Aion's inventory, but it was better to be safe than sorry. In any case, Aion realized that he didn't know many things about that world, and even people with as much history as Sauros and Seris' family were in the same boat. He wanted to learn more about such subjects, but there were things that he couldn't learn in a book and only by experience.

"By the way, where is your sister?" Aion asked.

"She is working on the items that might help us," Sauros replied.

Aion wanted to say that they were relying too much on tools, but he couldn't since he also relied a lot on the system… even though he tried to learn many things by himself…
