Chapter 240 Hard To Understand

When Seris woke up, the group began to prepare to move. However, she looked quite restless, and Sauros also looked a bit troubled. Still, instead of asking what the problem was, Aion ignored that… until Sauros asked him if he could build a toilet with magic…

"What the hell…" Aion said while frowning. "Just do it in the corner. I am not the type of the guy who watches other guys or even girls answering the call of nature."

Sauros sighed… even in their ship, they had a clean and pretty advanced one, so it couldn't be helped that they were spoiled. In the end, Aion changed his class to Necromancer and made some for them… still, he had a hard time not laughing since he made the type that makes a lot of noise.

"Adventuring in another world is overrated… I never thought people had to worry about going to the bathroom in a dungeon or labyrinth," Aion thought before they went to the next zone.

Once again, they found some monsters waiting for them, but Seris and Sauros finished them off instantly, and then they began to run again.

"This zone will be longer, so pace yourselves," Sauros said.

It had been hard to do that in the beginning because there wasn't much to do… Aion blocked the attacks, and then those two killed the enemies. Even though Aion barely lost any time absorbing the bodies, things still were pretty boring… but at least their pace was decent, and in one hour, they didn't stop for any reason, even once.

"Come to think of it, and I could use the Bard class to make them move faster and recover mana… I won't be able to level up the Lancer class, though," Aion thought.

That was another option Aion could consider if things got dicey in the future…

Along the way, the group was forced to make some choices when the path split, and while they welcomed all kinds of changes on that monotonous routine of running and shooting, finding a dead end wasn't one of them.

"We need to take a break, we are out of mana, and our legs kind of hurt," Sauros said.

When Aion turned around, he saw those two covered in sweat, and they were also pale… they didn't lack magic power or stamina, but it looked like Aion had lost the notion of time.

After checking the map that Sauros was making, it looked like they had crossed over forty kilometers, so they must have run for four hours at the very least…

"... I guess I will guard the path ahead since I am still fine," Aion said, and then he began to use his earth magic to build something.

After a couple of minutes, Seris and Sauros were left speechless when they saw two bathrooms. Aion even made some bathtubs for them to use with hot water.

"A hot bath is good to help with sore muscles, but it can only last for so long inside this place," Aion said, and then he moved ahead to fight the monsters.

"... Let's wait for a while longer and make sure that he won't try to take a peek at me naked," Seris said.

"Someone sure is confident," Sauros said, and then he jumped into the bathtub. "You know his Lineage and fame, don't you? If r wanted, he could have a harem at his age."

"Maybe, but I guess he is in love with his mother," Seris said, entering the bathroom on the other side of the wall.

"I want to see what he will do if you tell him that," Sauros said and then laughed. "Do you have the balls for that?"

"I don't have balls in any weird sense, and the mission is too important for me to say or do anything that might cause problems to the group," Seris replied and then sighed in relief when she entered the bathtub. "I feel alive again… the kid sure is something else to be able to do this much without a cinch at his age."

"Aion is more mature than you. You can learn a thing or two from him, actually, maybe a lot more," Sauros said.

"Yeah, right… Still, I wonder what he will do in the future," Seris said. "Considering his upbringing, his potential is immense… perhaps endless."

"That is why we let him keep the statues, remember?" Sauros asked. "In any case, someone will come and snatch him away if you don't make your move."

"I am not interested in kids," Seris said.

"Then I am going to look for a grandpa to look after you. You seriously need to get a life. I guess even an old man spoiling you more than you already are will do the job."

"There is no middle term with you, huh," Seris said. "Anyway, I am feeling better. I guess I will be ready to move again in ten minutes."

"Same here, I didn't think that this labyrinth would be this difficult due to the environment alone, but we are fortunate that Aion is this skilled with magic," Sauros said after a long and relaxed sigh.

"After traveling with him for this long, have you come to understand his powers, like that ability to transform his weapon?" Seris asked. "Is that some sort of mutation due to his bloodline?"

"I don't know… there are some registers of people that could make a weapon using their magic power and fight using, and some people could make normal weapons transform, but not both of those," Sauros explained. "My guess is that he just found a powerful relic by luck that let him do whatever he wants with such an item… even disassemble monster parts… in any case, if those abilities really existed, they disappeared hundreds of years ago, and it wasn't something that people could learn by chance."

The more they wondered about it, the more they felt like Aion was becoming harder to understand, and it didn't seem like they were making progress on it…
