CH 304

As I Have Previously Explained [Part 2]

‘Oh no. We can’t. We mustn’t cry. We will only throw a wet blanket over Emma-sama and her family’s efforts to face their situation courageously if we cry…’

The participants desperately sniffed as they held back their imaginations and tears from overflowing.

“? Does everyone have hay fever? It’s rare to have it at this time of year, huh.”

Taking in the surrounding people’s state, Emma started pondering whether she should hand out handkerchiefs.

“…I… see. However, um. I’m not sure about not bringing a single maid…”

Wolfgang was sure the other two guardians the Stuarts brought were most likely hunters, judging from their appearance. One had a big bow, and the other had a long spear.

If it was like that, there was no one to take care of their food, laundry, and the like. Wolfgang was especially concerned because the Countess and Lady Emma also came this time. They wore a dress that was easier to move in for the extracurricular lesson, but Wolfgang thought they must have needed assistance to take off and put it on…

“We can take care of ourselves… Ah! …*ahem* …uhh, we will make do somehow.”

Melsa spoke in a vague manner unnaturally. She realized halfway that even though she could do everything herself, it was not natural for nobles to be able to do everything themselves.

“Make do… Will it really be alright?”

They are probably not thinking about anything, are they? The hunting teacher looked at the Stuart family’s members suspiciously.

“E-Excuse me, Professor? We will have the maids we brought to help them.”

“T-That is right! Catherine-sama‘s, Caitlyn-sama‘s, and my guards have never fought against monsters, so, umm, in exchange for our maid’s help, House Stuart’s skilled hunters will take care of our guards. We have made such a promise in advance.”

Seeing how the Stuart family seemed like they would dig their grave the more the teachers questioned them, Marion and Francesca came to their aid. It was a pathetic skill they naturally acquired after being in the same class as Emma for more than half a year.

“We can never see monsters in Simmons, right? Caitlyn.”

“Uh-huh, we can’t see monsters in Simmons, Catherine.”

“ “We want to see monsters soon,” ” the twins nodded to each other.

“Ehh! Mmph… (*in whispers*) Leonard-sama, we have never seen a monster either, though…”

When the two people with a bow and a spear exclaimed in surprise upon hearing what the young ladies said, Leonard immediately blocked their mouths. Even so, they continued protesting with lowered voices.

They were the people Leonard scouted in the Royal Capital to become Palace’s hunters. Because the timing was just right, he brought them along to see how much they could fare before monsters.

“(*in whispers*) Hey! They are almost convinced just now, so shut up for a moment. You won’t die as long as you stick to Arban, George, and my side… probably.”

“(*in whispers*) Probably?!”

“(*in whispers*) Can’t you say that we’ll 100% be alright?!”

“Well, it depends on the type of monsters. If a dragon appears, don’t even bother trying. The flying type is quite troublesome, after all…”

“F-Father!”

William nudged Leonard, who was busy whispering to the two hunter candidates.

The teachers had been staring at them silently with eyes full of suspicion.

“J-Just know that we’re going to be alright! Hehe.”

“Hehehehe.” Following Leonard, the whole Stuart family laughed in the same suspicious manner at the teachers.

“Haahhh. His Majesty the King will arrive shortly. Everyone should brace yourselves for ten days starting today. Please bear in mind that this is not the safe Royal Capital but a borderland territory with monster appearances, and act accordingly. Well then, you can start preparing your meals and bed.”

The teachers were sure that the Stuarts were hiding something, but they had to leave it at that because the king would arrive soon.

They gave up pressing for the truth, thinking they couldn’t afford to take up the time for preparing their camp, especially when they weren’t used to camping.

Many things in the world were better left unknown.

“Heyy, Arban, George. I’m going to set up the tent, so bring those poles made of Over over here.”

Hm? Over? The teachers pricked up their ears.

“Oh my, which carriage did I put in the (Violet thread-mix, waterproof) Emma silk specially made for the tent?”

Emma… silk for a tent?! The teachers eavesdropped with their mouths agape.

“Fufufu, we can cook rice using the outdoor cooking utensils we made for today. Curry is a must when it comes to camping, after all. William? I’m going to start the fire, so can you go pick up some suitable dead branches?”

The dying young lady of a Count household is going to start a fire manually?! The teachers didn’t even bother to hide the fact they were listening in to the Stuarts’ conversation anymore.

Many things in the world are better left unknown. We mustn’t look… The teachers averted their eyes for real.
