CH 9.6

Lila opened her eyes at the sound of a knock on her bedroom door.

“…s, come in.”

The room was dark, cut off from the bright light. She stared blankly at the ceiling above her bed for a moment, unable to recognize the creaking body and muffled voice.

“My lady, have you been coughing?”

Jessie asked as she entered.

“Can you get me some warm water?”

“Yes, ma’am.”

At her order, Jessie quickly left the room.

She slapped a hand to her head and muttered.

“It would have been embarrassing if he hadn’t drawn the canopy. Did the Duke put it down?”

She didn’t think he had, but her memory was fuzzy, so she couldn’t be sure.

Lila blushed and dried her face, almost intoxicated by his touch and scent.

“Ha…”

It had been an indescribably hot night. The pleasure she had never felt in her life made her mouth go dry.

“Wow, woww, really…”

Even when she was Yoon Seol, she had never been in a relationship with someone of the opposite sex. Her job as a makeup artist didn’t allow for much personal time, so it was hard to make friends.

Before she started working, she had no time because she had to go to school and work a part-time job…

“How could that be?”

She covered her face with her hands, remembering last night. She even buried his face on her lap and stamped the bed with the soles of her feet.

She felt like she was going to die of embarrassment. Her head was steaming as she kept replaying what he’d done and how he’d touched her.

“Is this really your first time, or are you lying?”

She wasn’t exactly sure what kind of sex education noblemen receive. In the first place, she couldn’t even learn the sex education that noble ladies receive. Because Louis had neglected this education for her.

“It felt good, though…”

Lila pulled her knees into a hug, remembering the people around her telling her it hurt at first.

Of course, it had been a bit like that at first, but it had gotten better as she went along, so the memory was a blur.

“Isn’t that a little extreme, though? Does everyone do this?”

He seemed to remember seeing the sun rise. Shaking her head, Lila thought back to last night.

Knock knock.

“Ma’am, I’ve brought you some water to drink and a few snacks.”

Jessie said as she entered. Lila heard her voice and looked down at her body.

“Hik!”

“Ma’am, is something wrong?”

“No! I’m fine, can you put it down on the nightstand, I need to get some more rest.”

“Yes, of course, my lady. Just call me if you need me.”

“Yeah, okay.”

Lila poked her face through the canopy only after she heard Jessie leave.

“Gone?”

With a quick check of the bedroom, Lila scrambled out of bed and tried to make her way to the bathroom.

But it didn’t go her way.

Bang!

“Ouch!”

Lila groaned as she grabbed her waist, which was immediately twisted as soon as she released her foot.

She wriggled around on the floor, unable to get any leverage below her waist.

“What the hell!”

Lila screamed in panic, feeling like she’d never been in this situation before.

She was alone and didn’t know what to do, but if someone came in at this point, she’d be in trouble as it was.

She dropped to her stomach, not bothering to look for her magic bell. She scrambled forward like a turtle, and suddenly the door burst open.

“Gah!”

She screamed in surprise, and then a concerned voice fell on her head as she fell back to the floor from her strained back.

“Lila, are you okay?”

Lucas, quickly approaching, scooped her up in his arms.

“Duke?”

Lucas had just come into the room, thinking it was time for Lila to get up, when he heard her scream.

Lucas, who was on the doorstep, jumped at the sound of her screams and went straight into the bedroom…

He bit his lip tightly when he found Lila sprawled out on the floor.

He had to, because if he didn’t, he felt like he was going to burst out laughing.

“You can go to the bathroom, right?”

Lucas scooped her up and stomped off. He sat her down on the couch in the bathroom.

“If you want to wash up, I’ll call a maid.”

“No, I’m comfortable washing myself.”

Lila replied, her shoulders shaking as she wondered how she was supposed to show Jessie a body like this.

She’d been washing herself for so long, she didn’t need a maid to attend to her now, and it was uncomfortable.

“How are you supposed to wash yourself when you can’t even walk by yourself…?”

Lucas crossed his arms and tilted his head at an angle.

Seeing him like that, Lila covered her face with her hands in embarrassment and made a small protest.

“I’ll take care of it. I just need you to get my pouch by the bed!”

Lucas quickly exited the bathroom at her request and returned with the pouch.

“Is this it?”

“Yes. Please give it to me and leave now.”

Turning to Lila, who was blushing from head to toe with embarrassment and shame, Lucas asked again.

“Are you sure you can wash yourself, you can’t even walk properly.”

“It’s okay, it’s really okay, please leave me.”

“Don’t say that, I’ll call a maid.”

Lila snapped, annoyed at Lucas for persistently suggesting a maid to her.

“Who’s fault is this!”

Lucas, whose eyes had grown round at her words, smirked thinly.

Sitting down on one knee in front of Lila, he looked at her and took her hand in his.

Without taking his gaze from her eyes, he slowly drew her hand away and pressed his lips to the back of it.

He tickled it gently with his tongue, then spoke softly.

“It’s my fault, so I’ll take responsibility.”

He kissed the back of her hand, making her squint out of the corner of her eye, and then he scrambled to his feet and began to pull off his shirt.

“No way! No!”

Lila reached out and tried to stop him, but to no avail. Instead, Lucas helped her to her feet.

“You’re speaking casually now, that’s new.”

Lucas, who was naked in a flash, casually stepped into the tub. His body was a beast of a man as he stood there on his back in the bathroom.

His sleek and lithe body resembled that of a wolf.

‘Was I in that body? Oh, my God!’

Lila’s pupils quivered as she stared at the man with the perfect face, the perfect personality, and the perfect body.

The red agate bathtub is filled with water. Lucas muttered as he looked around the bathroom.

“There are bath bombs.”

She stood there, listening to him, then unconsciously pulled a bath bomb out of her pouch.

She tossed it into the stroke bathtub.

Poof!

The dark blue and purple bath bombs hit the water, emitting a cool, refreshing scent and transforming into water as blue and sparkling as the night sky.

Lucas gazed into the mystical tub, then turned to Lila.

“My wife has many secrets.”

At a glance, it was an incredibly expensive item. The duke wondered what Lila had that he didn’t, but he didn’t care.

Even if she was a criminal, he’d already made up his mind. No, it won’t work out his way.

To say it was decided would be an understatement, but to say it was set in stone would be more accurate.

The choice was hers, not his. Well, that doesn’t mean he’s going to sit around sucking her fingers.

“It’s a very traditional thing to spend the first night and then take a dip together the next day.”

The corners of Lucas’s mouth tilted upward as he pulled Lila into a hug.

Unable to tear her gaze away from his body, she casually wrapped her arms around the nape of his neck.

Clinging to him as they stepped into the tub, Lila couldn’t take her eyes off of Lucas.

No matter how she looked at him, he was absolutely her type.

She felt like she’d been pierced. Of course, it didn’t feel bad. No, rather, it was a satisfying, exhilarating sensation.
