CH 6.1

‘There may be financial losses, but it may also elicit sympathy for the tailor.’

Furthermore, there was nothing to expect from Benjamin. The only person who could take action was Grace herself.

Unfortunately, compared to the original Grace, the current Grace had a rather unpleasant personality.

It could be said that she had to repay what she had received before her temper could be calmed.

‘So what should I do?’

Grace thought about how to legally cut off the tailor’s source of income with a kind face.

At that moment, the tailor called out to her.

‘Madam?’

‘Oh, please continue.’

Of course, Grace didn’t listen to the representative’s nonsense.

Listening further would only worsen her already bad mood, so Grace just brushed it off as noise and busily turned things over in her head.

“Okay….”

From now on, no matter what the tailor said, Grace would not be swayed.

‘I can do it.’

She could do it, she had to do it. There was a voice whispering in her mind that she couldn’t, but Grace ignored that voice completely.

She waited for the tailor to speak to her, tightly gripping the catalog in both hands.

“So, in the case of this design….”

“It’s tacky.”

“Pardon?”

Grace threw the catalog towards the tailor, covering the table with it.

“I said it’s tacky.”

“…Ah, haha. It’s because the madam doesn’t know much.”

“What do I not know?”

“Pardon?”

“Can you explain clearly what I don’t know?”

Grace looked at the tailor with a sullen expression.

The tailor spoke confidently, thanks to their experience dealing with numerous noblewomen.

“The madam only stays in the annex, so she doesn’t know much. Of course, the design and color that suits the madam’s body type and the current trend are not at all suitable, but I have come up with something new this time…”

Grace listened quietly to the tailor’s words who hadn’t even wiped the drool from their mouth. Then she rang a bell next to her.

A maid waiting outside came in.

“Sally, do you often go out to the city?”

“Yes, madam.”

“Then would you help me out here?”

Sally looked at Grace with a puzzled expression.

“That’s right. Since I only stay in the annex, I don’t know much about recent trends. I guess I just don’t have a good sense. I need your help.”

Grace murmured with a gloomy expression.

She had learned a fact while staying in the annex. All the servants within the annex were friendly to Grace.

‘Is it because they are not reprimanded heavily for their mistakes or any work they do?’

Even if Benjamin and Grace’s relationship was not good, Grace was still a duchess, and she paid more than other noble families.

Even as a duchess in the annex, from the perspective of an employee, the person who paid well was the best.

Grace thought that at least for that reason, the employees were on her side, and thus she put on a gloomy expression in front of Sally.

Sally looked at the tailor with wide eyes.

“I mean, I was just thinking about ordering clothes that are easy to move in this time… but the tailor keeps recommending expensive dresses. So to say, am I not speaking clearly enough?”

“Ma-madam. Why are you like this all of a sudden?”

“Well, there was something I liked among them, but they said it didn’t suit my body. Of course, I agree with that too, but…”

Sally looked at the tailor as if she had met the culprit who had killed her parents. Grace had her eyes down and spoke with a sad expression, so she didn’t see Sally’s expression.

“After all, it’s a tailor recommended by His Highness, and they make dresses for the royal family, but someone like me…”

“Madam! No! When did I say such a thing to you…!”

The tailor interrupted Grace’s words, looking flustered. Sally spoke to the tailor in a cold voice.

“The lady is speaking. Why are you interrupting her?”

“….”

“No, it’s okay… don’t get angry. Maybe it’s because I’m comfortable with you.”

As Grace spoke weakly, the air around Sally became tense. She had realized that the tailor’s behavior was not just for a day or two from Grace’s actions.

Grace lifted her gaze from the ground.

“As expected, I don’t fit in this position, do I?”

Sally stiffened at Grace’s words. She couldn’t say anything and just muttered under her breath before glaring at the tailor again.

Grace thought calmly between the two.

‘Since Sally is a maid, she might feel embarrassed for no reason because she is a commoner’

But what she wanted was just a rumor.

All the employees in this annex got along well. They always gathered together and chatted, and always ran away as soon as she saw them.

‘Are they afraid I’ll scold them if I catch them slacking off?’
