Chapter 4: Seducing others in front of her brother

The modified car as a whole was about three to four meters high and Xiao Yang put the ladder down. Now that Bai Qingqing no longer acted like a demon, her beautiful appearance was so eye-catching people could not move their gaze away. As she clumsily climbed up to the roof, the two men found her rather cute.

Reaching the last step, she looked at Fu Chen and stretched out her hand: “Brother, I can’t get up, help me.”

It was already quite hard to climb up for a woman because her legs weren’t long enough, not to mention that she had never done it before. Fu Chen came forward and grabbed her little soft hand. He pulled her up without effort and, she didn’t know whether it was deliberate or not, she fell into his arms. She stood up quickly and smiled gently: “Thank you, brother.”

Fu Chen’s eyes darkened and he raised his eyebrows before asking: “How are you going to thank me?”

Bai Qingqing was slightly startled and replied: “How do you want me to?”

“I haven’t thought about it yet, but don’t forget.”

The three of them stood on the roof of the RV and in the silver light of the moon, the scene looked particularly harmonious. The wind at night was very cold; Bai Qingqing put her arms around her and rubbed them with her hands. She looked at the deceptive empty wasteland fields; in this quiet night, the slightest whiff of trouble would be enough to raise the alarm.

Bai Qingqing took a bag of spicy strips from her portable space and turned her head to ask Xiao Yang: “Do you want some?”

No one in this world could refuse the charm of snacks. She held one out to feed Xiao Yang and he bit into it, praising as he ate: “It tastes good. Did you find them in the small market this afternoon?”

Bai Qingqing nodded and said: “I took all the ones I could find.”

Fu Chen was ignored and suddenly felt a little displeased; had she taken fancy to the simple Xiao Yang? How dared she flirt with other men in front of her brother?

Bai Qingqing noticed Fu Chen’s expression was sinking and lowered her eyelashes to hide the flash of a very faint smile. She raised her gaze again and looked at her fake brother with innocent eyes: “Brother, do you want some too?”

After snacking and looking at the wilderness and their surroundings for a while, Bai Qingqing felt a little sleepy. She kept yawning and dozing off, just like a tired little cat, and looked adorable. Upon seeing this, Xiao Yang said: “Sister Qingqing, you should go back inside the car and rest, the third room is the one you share with Tiantian.”

The amenities of the RV were limited but the second floor had been divided into three spaces; one for Fu Chen and Xiao Yang, once for Cheng Rui, Liang Zhiyu, and Shen Mingxuan, and one for the two sisters.

Bai Qingqing was immediately awakened; both Cheng Rui and Shen Mingxuan, who had killed her the original Bai Qingqing, were currently resting. After receiving the plot and the memories that came with it, she had felt all the pain and despair to be shot and thrown into the pile of zombies by both men. It was deeply carved in her bones and she could not help but be frightened. She grabbed Fu Chen’s arm and said in a soft voice: “Brother, I don’t want to go to sleep, I want to stay with you to keep watch.”

In addition to his lighting ability, Fu Chen was somewhat of an empath and he could feel her anxiety and fear. He believed she felt threatened by Shen Mingxuan and did not push her away. After all, he was now playing the role of a doting older brother.

Bai Qingqing had collected many items during today’s trip and she took out a blanket to wrap herself before yawning: “Brother, can I just sleep here?”

The weather in April and May wasn’t cold but she felt a little chilly and did not want to get sick. (TL note: better be warm than fight zombies with a runny nose, amirite?)

The two men sat on the roof of the car and Bai Qingqing curled up in her quilt and fell asleep. Xiao Yang couldn’t help but glance at the woman on the floor. He had not expected Bai Qingqing would become so lovely after losing her memory. He really hoped she would never recover it and become a scheming and evil woman again.

A gust of wind came from the north and Fu Chen moved his body slightly to block the cool breeze for the woman lying down beside him. When Shen Mingxuan and Cheng Rui came to take over the watch, they saw the harmonious scene of a beautiful girl sleeping between Fu Chen and Xiao Yang and their faces suddenly became dark.

Bai Qingqing, this nasty conniving bitch. Even in amnesia, she wouldn’t forget to try to seduce men.

Bai Qinqging didn’t know when she went back to the room but the sun was already shining in the sky when she woke up the next day. She went downstairs to wash and saw Bai Tiantian who was cooking porridge.

In the past two days, Bai Tiantian’s attitude towards her had obviously changed; in short, it wasn’t as good as before she transmigrated.

Bai Qingqing washed, opened the curtains of the main room and the ones of the driver’s seat, and looked at the city rising up in the distance through the front window.

There were more than ten kilometers left before entering the city when the car stopped. The group gathered in the living room to have breakfast and discussed the next arrangements after eating.

Liang Zhiyu showed his military upbringing and took out a sketch he had drawn beforehand. On the paper was a map of the city, and the locations where to gather supplies were marked. If the situation was good over there, they would not have to rush and could rest in the city for a few days after gathering what they needed.

Jiang City was divided into two districts, North and South, both separated by a river of several hundreds of kilometers long. They had to enter the city from the southern district; and after the zombie virus had broken out, all the checkpoints and roads had been abandoned, leaving a multitude of broken vehicles behind. The journey was slow and before even reaching the city, the Thunder Squad could see zombies wandering aimlessly on the road until they heard the sound of the RV and started running towards them.

But because it was daytime and the sun was shining brightly, the zombies behaved sluggishly; those were low-level zombies with broken roars coming from their throats and rotting faces so hideous it made people nauseous. The modified car ran over them directly and entered Jiang City.

Jiang City was not far from Haicheng, where everything had started. In the past few months, the city had been reduced to a zombie neighborhood; humans who had survived had rushed to their cars and drove to doomsday bases to seek shelter. Nowadays, Jiang City was only a place raided by tactical teams to gather supplies; the once lively streets were now empty and mostly silent, only occasionally disturbed by zombies and shopping bags blown in the sky by the wind.

The RV drove to a grocery store and stopped outside. Following Liang Zhiyu’s plan, the seven members of the Thunder Squad left the car and entered the large supermarket to grab anything they could gather. They had divided the tasks in order to get things done as fast as possible; nobody knew how many zombies were inside.

Shen Mingxuan and Liang Zhiyu stayed behind to guard the car and the others went on their way to gather the supplies. Bai Tiantian had no fighting power and both Cheng Rui and Xiao Yiang followed to protect her.

Bai Qingqing and Fu Chen walked into the store together and Bai Qingqing tried to decide what to put in her portable space. After all, her space was still very small.

After she finished taking all of it, she took Fu Chen to grab some snacks and drinks. But as they reached the right alley, there was a rush of footsteps. Several tall men armed with guns broke into the store and surprise flashed through their eyes when they noticed Bai Qingqing.

The leader was a tall man of about 190 cm, with a bald head and a lot of muscles.

“Are you collecting supplies too?”

Fu Chen glanced at him and answered coldly: “We are finished and are about to leave.”

The bald man watched them warily, sized them up several times, and signaled his men to go find provisions.

There were not many survivors moving around since the outbreak but some people would team up to either reach the nearest base or get some equipment. The bald man did not know their intentions and stopped them.

“Brother, don’t leave, My name is Zhang Qiang, where are you heading? We can team up.”

His men were nearby and they were all holding guns. If anyone opened fire, it would attract zombies; both sides were very tense and rooted in place.

Fu Chen was grim and he cast a cold look at the man with his ink-black eyes.

He pulled Bai Qingqing away but was blocked by the leader. His firearm was out and he said with anger: “What the fuck is wrong with you? I am trying to be nice and help you but you’re unable to tell good from bad?”

His men looked vicious and they all gathered, guns out. They were getting ready to attack but at the same instant, in another corner of the store, there was a loud gunshot noise that awakened all the zombies in the area. The zombies that were still wandering in some hidden space of the supermarket heard the sound and scented living beings. They roared and everybody stiffened.

“Damn it! Who the fuck was it?” Zhang Qiang’s complexion was poor and he yelled as his team fired: “Retreat!”

They had not even had time to gather anything, they were already surrounded by walkers. It was really unlucky.

Taking advantage of the chaos, Fu Chen pulled Bai Qingqing, jumped over several shelves, and rushed towards the exit. Zombies were everywhere and it was a ghastly sight. It was the first time Bai Qingqing faced this kind of crisis; she was afraid, her heart was beating wildly and she tried to calm down her breathing.

“Captain!” Three people rushed to their side. Xiao Yang and Cheng Rui were dragging Bai Tiantian, killing zombies as they protected her. The zombies of the store kept rushing over, biting and scratching, and because of the crowded place, they could not use their powers. They finally rushed to the underground parking lot through the emergency stairs.

Bai Tiantian staggered, in tears: “I’m sorry, it’s all my fault…”
