1 He changed the forest ‘lin’ in his username with Lin Sui’s ‘lin’ so I just changed the reading to both their names. Also, the ‘returns to’ part can also be translated as ‘belongs to/is part of’, but I went with ‘returns’ bc I liked it better. Top.
2 Cover the sky with one hand (and pretend it’s not there), a metaphor for a person with power acting to hide things from the public. Top.
3 An expression that means to stop trying, to lay down flat on the ground and stop putting effort in, usually as a counter-response to the work grind hustle culture. Top.
4 The people who sit by and engage in gossip from the sidelines. I would’ve just translated it as “peanut gallery” and not included this footnote but the eating metaphor is expanded on later (the badger thing means there’s lots of gossip going around) and I couldn’t think of anything similar to relate back to the peanut expression lol. Top.
