CH 71

“Heads up! I brought 3 of them!”

“””Roger.”””

Reno dashed towards our direction.

Behind her, followed three greywolves.

“Aria, go ahead.”

“Got it.”

Aria takes on the greywolf in the front, using her shield.

“I won’t let you go any further.”

In that gap, the second greywolf tried to escape through Aria’s side.

“Haaaa!”

“Gyan!”

The sword swung by Aria blew the greywolf far back.

“I told you I won’t let you go any further!”

“Kyan Kyan.”

“Ah! Wait!”

Using the blown back greywolf as a stepping stone, the third greywolf goes by Aria’s side.

Aria hadn’t re-taken her stance promptly after swinging her sword.

“Sorry, I couldn’t stop one.”

“Leave it to me! Ei!”

“Kyan!”

Kili threw a pouch at the greywolf.

It was a stinky pouch that gave off a smell dislike by greywolves.

It’s normally used to protect yourself from greywolves and such.

However, it hardly has any effect inside the Demon Forest.

That’s because the power to attract monsters overwhelms that.

That’s why we’re using it as a throw-able here.

By throwing it, we can stop the greywolf’s movement momentarily.

This stinky pouch was something unknown to me, and was discovered by Kili.

I’m really amazed at how she found it.

“Nice, Kili-nee.”

A moment’s gap was all Reno required to attack the greywolf’s weak-points.

She tore apart the greywolf’s neck, and it turned into a magic stone.

“We did it, Reno!”

“Yeah, we did it Kili-nee!”

Aria made a sour face at the two sisters who were showing a thumbs-up to each other.

That being said, Aria was nonetheless evading the two greywolves skillfully.

If not for her miss earlier, she could have easily taken on the three greywolves herself.

Just two were child’s play for her.

“Sorry, we’ll be right there.”

“There is, no need. Preparations, are complete.”

Sui stops Reno, who was about to rush in to assist Aria.

It seems that her magic preparations are complete.

“[Water Arrow].”

With the activation of magic, 20 arrows made of water form around Sui.

Each of those arrows traversed a different path, avoiding Aria, and hit the two greywolves.

“”Gyan!””

The greywolves were unable to avoid the arrows flying at them through different directions.

Looking like hedgehogs with each of them having 10 arrows sticking out, the greywolves disappeared leaving behind their magic stones.

“Well done everyone. It’s gotten pretty late already, so how about heading back to the village?”

“You’re right. Let’s do that.”

The five immediately begin preparations to head home.

Reno and Sui picked up the magic stones, and handed them over to Aria.

In the meantime, Kili quickly gathered all the collectibles nearby.

Milia took a look at everyone, and patted her chest after seeing no one was injured.

After that, she reapplied [Blessing] on everyone.

Everyone was doing their work like it was ingrained into them.

Well, we’re already about to cross seasons since we started exploring the Demon Forest.

It isn’t really surprising.

We were about to welcome spring.

***

“Tomorrow’s a holiday right? What will you do, Milia?”

“I noticed some weeds growing yesterday, so I thought of plucking them out. Look, like over there.”

“You’re right. Maybe I’ll accompany you.”

“Then let’s do it together, Kili.”

Leaving the Demon Forest, the tension left everyone’s body and they started talking.

It’s not a good idea to relax, since till we reach home, or till we have walked back to the village, it’s still an excursion.

However, it’s gotten more cheerful with the onset of spring, so I don’t blame them either.

Tomorrow’s the one-in-a-week holiday, so even more so.

The weekly holidays were still going on.

Snow had begun melting around the village, and flowers could be seen growing from the ground.

Our girls preferred bread over the song of birds though, and talked more about wild herbs they could eat than budding flowers.

“Ah, that reminds me, Aria.”

“What’s up? Lain.”

“How far have you decided to cultivate this year?”

The number of wooden hoes made by Kili*, had reached a sufficient count.

We could start tilling the ground at any moment.

Though it would be better to do that after the snow has completely melted.

I don’t think there’s any problem doing it after the snow’s melted, but there are also plans for future explorations, so I’d like to know beforehand.

“Umm, actually there was something I was worried about.”

“Worried?”

She had done the cultivation for last year as well, so what exactly could she be worried about?

“The number of people has reduced compared to last year, so I was thinking of reducing the cultivated area as well.”

Aria brought up her plans for the future.
