Chapter 30: Director Jin

He had just come out of the bathroom, with a slight mist surrounding him. He wore only a bath towel around his slender waist, and though his figure was somewhat thin, it was exceptionally fair-skinned.

A droplet of water trickled down from the pair of eyes that always seemed to be brimming with deep emotions, and followed the contour of the jaw before sliding into the hollow where the collarbones met, swirling for a moment before finally gliding gently onto the body.

The mist wafting out from the doorway was like a wisp of smoke. He had a few droplets of water on him that caught the sunlight and glistened faintly.

The dripping water droplets fell onto the wooden board, leaving a small puddle of moisture.

Zhou Mushi never imagined that he would come face-to-face with Jin Yang at a moment like this, which was quite exhilarating for him.

The person stood in the living room wearing a white shirt, with a large suitcase by their feet. Their coat was draped over the armrest of the sofa, and they held a bunch of keys in their hand.

The other person stared at him blankly for a moment before quickly averting their gaze and looking towards a corner.

“I… I don’t know you…” he said hesitantly.

Recalling the words of his father, Zhou Mushi raised his hand and smoothed out his furrowed brow.

“Are you the other owner of this house?” he asked.

“Hmm?” The other person looked puzzled for a moment, then nodded and said, “Yes.”

Zhou Mushi chuckled self-deprecatingly, picked up the suitcase he hadn’t had a chance to unpack yet, took out a bathrobe from it, wrapped it around himself, tied it up, and then removed the towel around his waist before sitting down on the sofa.

His hair was still dripping with water, but he didn’t seem to have any intention of drying it. Instead, he grabbed a large towel and wrapped it around his head.

Jin Yang stood beside his suitcase, unsure if he should sit down or remain standing by the side. After all, Zhou Mushi was sitting in the middle of the sofa, and whether Jin Yang sat to the left or right, the space would be somewhat cramped.

The person who wrapped up their hair finally settled down, adjusted their position, and made space for Jin Yang.

He had barely sat down when he felt a gust of cold wind blowing through. He looked up and saw that the window was not closed properly, and the wind was blowing in, hitting the person who had just finished showering.

Jin Yang got up and went to close the window before sitting back down on the sofa.

The person who just showered had drooping eyes and eyebrows, wrapped in a soft white bathrobe like a small animal with no attack power. They opened their mouth and said something not very pleasing to the ear.

“It doesn’t matter whether my father did it on purpose or ‘someone else’ did it on purpose. I’ve never been one to listen to others, and I won’t let anyone control me. If you don’t like this house, you can sell it to me. Or if you like it, I’ll move out. But for now, I don’t think I can get my dad’s half of the property certificate that he hid in this house.”

Jin Yang’s eyelashes fluttered slightly as he looked at the two suitcases piled together. He felt bitter in his heart, but still managed to put on a smile on his face.

“That’s fine, let’s just be roommates. If you move out, or if I move out, I’m afraid neither of us can explain it to our parents.”

Zhou Mushi’s lips curved up and he had a smile on his face, but there was a clear and bright glint in his eyes and at the corners of his eyebrows. “I know my father’s health condition. As long as I’m not in any serious danger, he won’t get too angry. If I take the initiative I’m just being ignorant, and I don’t think Chairman Jin will blame you.”

As soon as he heard the title “Director Jin,” Jin Yang tensed up all over, his muscles swelling slightly beneath his white shirt, but he could do nothing about it.
