Chapter 31
Despite the absurd request to cut the veil in half, Estelle did not say anything more. She replied that she understood and that she would fix the veil.
In fact, it wasn’t long before she made the half veil and gave it to Elysia. It was in a state of being complete, down to the base.
“The rest of the week… There will be no special training.”
“Yes.”
“You have worked so hard. Lastly, I look forward to your cooperation with the veil.”
It was cut in half, so it would have been finished quickly even if it had been someone else though it was Elysia, so it would take her at least five days.
“The finishing work will be done the day before the wedding.”
“I understood. Well done, Estelle.”
Glancing down at the dark blue fabric that was on her lap, now, it was really a battle on her own. Elysia forcefully swallowed the sigh that was about to come out of her temple.
“Even if it was cut in half, that’s a huge amount.”
For her, whose embroidery skills were poor, even if the amount was cut in half, she had to put a lot of effort into it. The good news was that the dragon’s size had been reduced…? Other than that, nothing seemed to have changed. It was still difficult for her.
“Estelle is amazing.”
Although when she actually asked to cut her in half, Elysia never thought she would be able to get it back so soon. She thought it would take at least two days. However, Estelle brought a veil that she finished the foundation in only half a day, saying she had help from others.
Nonetheless, it was at an incredible pace.
“Great! Now I have to work hard!”
Elysia lifted the needle with a stern look. The unusually sharp-looking needle had a good foreboding.

What she thought was a good feeling, it seemed, was a bad feeling. She had just started embroidering, yet she stabbed her finger again. Elysia tried to bring her finger to her mouth, seeping the drops of blood.
“I’m sure I told you not to do it.”
“Your Grace…?”

How Damon grabbed her fingers like that so quickly… Elysia was so amazed that she couldn’t keep her mouth shut.
“How…? Where did you come from?”
She obviously didn’t hear any windows or doors open. He was neither a fantasy nor anything, it was hard to believe that he was the real Damon. After all, he came to her just when she was stabbed by a needle…
“By the way… I guess the wife doesn’t listen very well either?”
She tried to get her hand out of his grasp as he spoke as he looked at her bloody finger. But, she never thought that the gripped fingers would ever fall out.
“Well, this…”
“Didn’t I tell you not to do it?”
His voice was so calm and low that it was impossible to think that he was angry. Still, she knew that he was in a state of utter anger. She was so scared that goosebumps all over her body. It was as if the voice was speaking directly into her ear, even with a somewhat eerie feeling.
“…So, I cut it in half.”
“What?”
“Your Grace told me not to do it, so I cut the length of the veil in half.”
Elysia showed him the veil that had been cut in half with her remaining hand that had not been caught.
“Isn’t this a condition that both you and I can satisfy?”
“Really… I can’t stop the wife.”
She wondered where on earth this courage springs from within her. Even though Elysia said she was scared, she told him everything she wanted to say to him strangely. Could it be that she already had a date to die?
She was terrified to learn that she was destined to die one way or another anyway, but she wanted to avoid dying quietly while doing nothing.
Of course, it would be best for her to get away from him and divorce him if at all possible. She didn’t know if she would be able to escape from this man in front of her first, though.
“And, how did you get here? Apparently, I didn’t hear the door open.”
“Are you curious about that?”

If she knew where and how he came in, she would lock the entrance tightly. Elysia was not happy that he came so suddenly. Even if she locked the entrance, there was a chance that he would break in and enter…
Though instead of answering, Damon just smiled.
“…Why did you come again?”
Elysia did not know how to react to Damon, who came back after only two days.
“Do… Do you keep coming back because you regret your decision to get married?”
If not for this reason, he wouldn’t have come to her. Does he keep coming to see her because he wanted to cancel the marriage even now? It could have been that he was coming to kill her.
“What…?”
“You want to cancel the marriage, so you’re coming here like this?”
As she talked, it seemed that there was no other way to explain it other than this reason because he had no reason to visit her other than the marriage.
“I wonder if that’s why you’re telling me not to make the veil, as I’m not going to use it anyway…”

“Why did you come like a thief tonight?”

By the time she noticed the distance with Damon getting closer and closer, he was already close to her nose.

“I asked if I am a thief, what is the wife?”
So close that they could feel each other’s breath, Elysia couldn’t come to her senses.

“If I was a thief, wouldn’t the wife be an accomplice?”

“Because you hid me. You’re not calling anyone, right? When a thief comes in, you have to scream right away and ask for help outside.”
At Damon’s words, Elysia was slightly taken aback and lost her words. If she screamed and asked for help, she knew what would happen… Before she could even scream, she would have died a horrific death.
“When someone you don’t know comes, you have to ask for help…”
“You’re not someone I don’t know.”

“So, does that mean that you will accept anyone who enters the room, unless it is someone you do not know?”

Damon’s behavior and his absurd remarks made her speechless. Elysia couldn’t understand what the hell this man was talking about.
“Grand Duke is the one who’s going to marry me, right? You’re not in everyone’s category.”
