Chapter 13 13. LEAVING THE TOWN

The white glowing runes projected an image in the air that crackled with energy, It was an image of Melissa.

Noah was pleasantly surprised, he wondered what position she held in her guild for her to have something like this.

And also, he felt some type of familiarity with her.

He wasn't sure what it was but it was there.

" Thank you for your understanding," Noah said bowing down slightly.

At that Melissa simply smiled, nodded her head, and walked away.

Looking at her beautiful figure that dazzled in the room, Noah admired it all.

When he was done, Noah opened the door and walked out of the room. Seeing Gerald still sitting, he walked over to him. Before he could say anything Gerald talked.

" How was it," He asked.

"Well it went well, I think " Noah replied

" What is your Elemental Affinity," Gerald asked with an eyebrow arched.

Noah looked at him and smiled before replying " Oh I found out that I have an Affinity for two Elements"

At that Gerald stood up with pure shock on his face, he had not expected this, Noah seemed to jump from surprise to surprise.

" What are the Affinities you have," Gerald asked skeptically,

Noah looked at this scene with his smile getting wider, he was truly enjoying himself.

"Just 'Air' and 'Lightning' " He replied.

Gerald gasped out loud, before covering his mouth to reduce his voice, which reverberated with tier 2 power.

" You have a rare Affinity, incredible," He said, more to himself than to Noah.

Noah simply gave a short laugh at the man's surprise, luckily there was no one there apart from the receptionist, who seemed busy, and wasn't listening to their conversation, the man only glanced at them for a second before continuing what he was doing.

" Why don't we get out of here," Noah said to Gerald who simply nodded absentmindedly.

Walking out of the building, Noah looked around, admiring the busyness of the town, before looking towards the mansion that was situated on a hill facing the town.

" Who lives there?" Noah asked Gerald, who immediately snapped out of his stupor before his face turned serious.

" The Town's Lord" Gerald replied with anger in his tone.

Noah noticed this but decided to ignore it, He could guess why the man was angry.

" What tier is the" Noah decided to ask.

"Peak of Tier 3, rumours say he has already achieved Tier 4" Gerald answered with a helpless sigh.

Noah raised his eyebrows, if there was someone as powerful as that ruling a backwater town, he couldn't imagine what powerhouses places like the royal city would hold.

The more he thought about it, the more he wanted to get stronger fast. With the threat of the mysterious enemies he had, he couldn't afford to laze around.

With that, his next plan was to go back into the forest and fight until he reached tier 2.

With that thought, he decided to check his status.

[Undistributed stat points: 0]

[Skills]: [Slow motion perception[Passive]

[Speed regeneration[Passive] [Mana circulation [Active]

[Air Elemental magic] [Lightning Elemental magic]

[Inventory: shirt, skirt]

He noticed some of the changes on the layout of his status, like the Elemental affinity panel, the number beside his current level showing him which level would be the cap for Tier 1, this greatly solved his problem of not knowing when he would evolve and also that the elemental magics did not have 'passive' or 'active' beside their name. He wondered why, but he couldn't get any ideas

With that done he spoke to Gerald about leaving the town, to travel for a while.

He asked Gerald where he could find a stronger magical beast, and to his surprise, the man answered without asking him why he wanted to.

Gerald told him that the forest beside Maria was filled with weak beasts, but that if he left the town and went South to where a big city named "Vonol" was, He would surely meet stronger beasts, he could even meet tier 2 Magical beasts.

With that Noah decided it was time for him to move, but first, he needed a map.

Gerald took him to a relatively big store, that sold different things, that ranged from, magical toys, to maps, and books.

He also found out that the map of this world used magic too. When he purchased a map that cost him 30 bronze coins, which by the way was a lot of money.

He found out that when he infused Mana into it and looked at it, all the information somehow entered his mind, and surprisingly the system identified it as a skill.

[Mental map[Passive]: When the user explores or finds new places it is added to their mental map so that they can never get lost.]

He was loving the system, and with his skill, a 3D map of the area appeared in his mind with clear detail. he could look around and check the places he had visited. He even saw where he had awoken

"Incredible" Noah muttered while checking the map he could see himself as a blue dot that blinked. The system was now even more like a game.

With that settled, Noah decided to spend the rest of the day in Maria and leave the next morning.

He tried his best to minimize his spending since right now he wasn't financially buoyant, but he still had to eat.

So with a heavy heart, he lodged back into the hotel he used the other night since it was the best in town.

Gerald told him not to worry about his spending, that if he could get some of the monsters that he would eventually kill to the city in one piece, he would make some money.

With that in mind, Noah also made plans to keep the magical beasts he would kill.

He was happy since it would be a win-win situation, he would gain levels and he would make money.

With all his plans for the immediate future made, he slept with excitement about the upcoming travel.

Morning came fast, Noah woke up and went down to get his breakfast, which was the same thing he had the other day.

After about another thirty minutes of grueling chewing, Noah was done with the meal.

Immediately he left, he swore once again to never go back there. This time since he had a map of the town, Noah decided to wait for Gerald, since he didn't know where he lived.

While waiting Noah noticed that people especially women would occasionally stare at him as they walked by. When his gaze met some of the young ladies, they would blush and look away walking faster. Some even waved at him, and to those, he waved back with a smile. He was thankful to the gods for his face.

After about ten minutes Gerald arrived at the front of the hotel.

"Good morning, I hope the meal wasn't as bad as yesterday," Gerald said.

"Oh it wasn't, it just wanted to kill me" Noah replied jokingly, though he wasn't lying.

They both had a good laugh before Noah decided it was time for him to leave.

They walked and talked, with Noah thanking him for all his help throughout the past week.

When they got to the city gate, Gerald waved Noah goodbye, who also waved back and bowed. The passersby were staring at them but Noah didn't care, they would probably not see him again. And to his surprise, the hunting group also came to greet him goodbye.

After all that Noah began to walk away. You would wonder why he didn't just run, but since he was supposed to keep his speed a secret, he would do just that.

After about ten minutes of walking, he had already walked far away from the Town's gate.

Looking around Noah crouched like an athlete about to start a race, he didn't have to do that but it felt dramatic.

Still crouched Noah's body began to emit Red Sparks of energy, the Sparks were strong enough to burn the grass a few feet around him, his hair also gained a light shade of red, though he didn't know this.

He felt pure energy flow through his whole being, to the extent that his eyes began to glow red, his surroundings slowed down even more neigh stopping.

He stayed in that position for a few seconds enjoying the feeling that the "Speed Force" gave him.

Then he moved.

BOOOOOOOOOM!!
