Chapter 14 14. NEW ABILITY

Noah shattered the sound barrier, immediately accelerating to his maximum speed. The wind rushed passed him trying to catch up, but it couldn't, wherever he passed the surroundings would experience a wind rush.

The forest was experiencing an unsettlement, the birds flew away from fear, and Magical beasts close to the surroundings roared at his movement, but they couldn't even see him, all they saw was the red-colored energy being discharged from his back.

While his surroundings were troubled, Noah was having the time of his life crossing long distances every second, he enjoyed the feeling of air rushing past his face, he couldn't hear the roars due to his experience if not he would have stopped to kill the magical beasts.

The energy flowing through him seemed to be endless, and he wasn't even feeling an ounce of fatigue yet.

He felt in sync with the world, and as though nothing could hurt him. He ran for a few minutes checking his position on the map, even with his speed he was approaching his destination slowly. He wondered how people would cross that distance, it would probably take them weeks or even whole months.

Though thanks to the map he had found out that the world he was currently in, was bigger than the earth, a small region on the map was like a big city on Earth.

After a few more minutes of running, He began to notice signs of a fight up ahead, he could see broke trees from the distance, and uneven grounds, that were caused artificially.

Coming to a stop abruptly, all the momentum and wind he had been packing, caused the ground to crack and the wind broke some trees.

Noah was in awe of that result, he wondered what would happen if he punched a magical beast while running at full speed. A shiver went down his spine, he doubted that a tier 2 could survive that.

Looking around the fight scene that was probably caused by a fight between two magical beasts.

Noah moved closer, the damage done wasn't much, probably due to them being tier 1.

As he moved closer to the wreckage, he began to sense an aura that belonged to a magical beast, and the surprising thing was that it was extremely weak as though it was dying.

Moving closer faster, Noah got to a very small clearing and in the middle of the clearing was an Ape Magical beast.

Its body was riddled with injuries, with some being larger than the others. The ape was lying on the ground it's breathing rough and weak.

Looking around for the second beast, Noah found nothing but a trail of red blood that led deeper into the forest.

At that sight, he sighed, the second magical beast was probably very weak too.

Noah was going to kill the Ape, no doubt about that. He didn't care that it was already injured.

No, what he cared about was how to kill the beast. He didn't purchase any weapons because he didn't have enough money to buy a good one. A good magical weapon would cost about 300 small copper coins, and currently, he only had 106 copper small coins.

And he didn't want to just punch it because that would cause a bloody mess, and no one would want a magical beast corpse that looked like a rag, it was already barely holding itself together, anymore, and would just be chunks of bloody flesh.

While thinking of what to do, the Ape noticed him and tried to stand, but it couldn't even raise its large arms. After a few seconds of struggle, the ape gave up and released an incredibly weak sound wave, that only managed to blow some leaves away.

With that, realization struck Noah, he had forgotten about his elemental affinities, and that he wanted to test them out.

This was the best time for that, and he had a plan. He had always wanted to make swords out of any element, and now he had the chance to fulfill his childhood dreams.

He decided to choose the element that had the most destructive power in his arsenal 'Lightning'

He cast the spell "Lightning Elemental magic" to his surprise lightning materialized out of nothing, but it flickered and died.

Noah frowned at this sight, so he tried again, he activated the spell and tried to imagine a sword.

The lightning materialized again, it started to form a sword but eventually fell apart, this time it exploded and released a small wave of energy. The explosion didn't hurt him since it was very small.

Noah continued this for a few minutes, each try ending up the same way. He almost gave up on his dream of fighting with elemental swords.

But before he did an idea flickered into his mind, then he tried it.

He activated the spell again, but this time instead of forming a sword in the air he tried to form it around his hand, and to his surprise, 'lightning' wrapped around his right hand from his elbow down to his hands then extended a few inches from his fingers, it gained sharp edges and after a second stabilized, it looked solid but if not for the Sparks running around it, no one would know.

Noah marveled at that sight, the lightning didn't hurt him, it didn't even burn his clothes, they simply wrapped around his arm and became pointy.

After a minute of marveling, Noah decided to try it out. He walked closer to the ape and stood in front of its head.

The ape tried to move but it couldn't do much.

Then Noah raised his right hand and slashed down. And to his surprised eyes, the head of the ape rolled on the ground cleanly cut.

He received notifications of gaining exp but he didn't bother to check them, the ape was only a level 21 so he knew he couldn't level up.

Noah looked at the headless ape, the blood coming out of its neck did not even irritate him, he had hunted in his past life and this one. After a few seconds of his surprise, a wide grin appeared on his face. The fact that he was powerful sank into him.

After a few minutes, he stored the body of the ape and looked at his status, he found that he had used 20 Mana points so far. He wasn't sure if that was a lot but it seemed small.

After that, he wondered whether to look for the other beast or not since it couldn't have gone far.

After a few seconds of contemplating, he decided to search for it.

Following the trail of blood, it left Noah walked for about five minutes inspecting the environment, for any beast around.

Finally, he sensed the same weak aura that the ape gave, but this time it was a little stronger than the ape.

Walking closer Noah hid behind a tree to find a yellow tiger, resting beside a tree, it's breathing was rough, and it was also riddled with injuries.,but it wasn't that bad.

Noah inspected it

[Tiger]

[Tier: 1]

[Level:23]

[Danger level :Normal]

It was a level 23, and its danger level was normal. Instead of hiding Noah decided to show himself, hiding won't change anything.

Coming out of his hiding, and into the sight of the tiger. Noah stood where he was.

At the sight of Noah the tiger became angry, it roared at him at first but when it saw that Noah did not move, it stood up sluggishly.

Noah watched this scene without any fear, he simply wanted to try out his new ability.

After it stood up the tiger immediately started running towards Noah.

Noah raised an eyebrow at this sight, the tiger still had enough energy for a Sprint. Though it was moving in slow motion to him.

Navigating through the trees the tiger was about to get to Noah when he activated his spell formed a blade around his arm and then flashed bedside the tiger.

The tiger didn't have enough time to react to Noah's speed, when Noah slashed at its head, it passed through its head like a hot knife on butter, cutting it cleanly.

The tiger died surprised.

Noah was okay with the results of the new form of weapon he had. Though it required some concentration, he could pull it off easily.

He was also surprised to find out that he had leveled up. He decided to keep the stat points until he advanced.

Storing the corpse of the tiger, Noah checked his position on the map.

He had diverted a little from the path he was taking before.

With everything done, Noah ran back to where he had stopped to look for the Beasts and continued on the path towards the city.

He knew he wouldn't get there that day so after running for about an hour before his stamina was almost out, he decided to rest for thirty minutes, before continuing.

He followed this method for a while before stopping to rest for the night.

He decided that he would cover much ground today which he did, while the next day, he would intentionally hunt for monsters. It would take at least two days in all before getting to his destination.
