Chapter 19 – Let’s Build A House

I made my way back to the hut.

“Oh, is this Rasty-sama’s base? I am impressed that you could make such a hut. I didn’t know you had such a skill.”

Alfred is genuinely impressed.

But I just remembered something important… Oh no, this hut is so small that only two people can sleep in it. There is no place for Alfred to sleep. ――In that case, it looks like we need to build a “house” as soon as possible.

Building a house requires “wood x100” and “stone x100.” It’s ten times more than before1. It’s a considerable amount, but I already have a lot of wood, so I think it’s fine if I only think about securing stones.

“I’m sorry, Alfred. You have nowhere to sleep in the current hut.”

“What! That is a problem. In that case, I’ll just have to camp out alone.”

“I can’t let you do that, it would be like abusing an elderly person. Right, Skor?”

When I turned to ask, Skor was chewing on something.

“…(monyu monyu)”2

“Hey, is that raspberry in your mouth? Don’t steal a bite.”

“B-but…I was hungry.”

She used “Heal” just now, and we had been walking around, so maybe that’s why she’s hungry. Come to think of it, I’m also hungry. Hunger is the enemy. We should definitely secure more food. Let’s decide who is in charge of that.

“I’ll build a house with my uninhabited island development skill. I only need 30 more stones. I’ll go collect them with “Gale Tulle”. In the meantime, Skor and Alfred will secure food. For now, we need to stabilize our food, clothing, and shelter.”

“Understood, Rasty-san. Then, I will have Alfred escort me!”

I see. That’s a great idea. Skor can only heal and it’s too risky to leave her alone. However, if Alfred is with her, there’s no need to worry. He’s also excellent in combat. He was originally a “Holy Knight” and was known as the strongest knight. Even my father recognized his skills.

If he is such a strong butler, I can entrust Skor to him.

“Alfred, I’ll leave Skor to you.”

“Leave it to me, Rasty-sama. I will protect Skor-sama at the cost of my life.”

The two headed deep into the forest to procure food, while I collected stones. The stones had to be rocks, not small pebbles lying on the ground. They had to be crushed with Gale Tulle in order to be turned into an item called “stone”.

It’s a hassle, but I decided to take a different route and head deeper into the forest. If I happen to find a “cave” while I’m at it, there might also be a dungeon. In that case, there would likely be monsters, and I could aim for valuable rare items.

That would be killing two birds with one stone.

And so, I walked and walked until I came to a place close to the mountains. Coming this far, there is a lot of rock surface where I can scrape off stones. Alright, let’s go– huh?

Looking closely, there was cave with a large opening nearby. Could this be a “cave dungeon”!?
