Chapter 47 – Tool Item Manufacturing

I move over to the worktable, trying to conceal it.1

There are still about 60 pieces of iron left.

Let’s make as many chairs and tables as we need.

Also, I want a “fishing gear”.

Fishing gear comes in a “set” and requires “iron”, “wood”, and “thread” to make. It seems impossible this time. I also need to get thread for clothing.

Let’s go with “Ladder Stairs” this time.

With ladder stairs, I can obtain fruit growing on trees. Probably “coconuts”. If I can get them, I can drink coconut juice.

And also, there was one thing that bothered me. I remembered reading in a book that the outer skin of coconut was a “natural fiber”. It seems to be used for ropes and nets, and I thought it might also be used as thread.

That’s why, right now, “Ladder Stairs” should be prioritized.

At the worktable, I used up “5 pieces” of iron. Ladder stairs are expensive, but once made, they can be used for a long time, so I think it will pay off in the end.

“Wow, it’s big. What did you make this time?”

“This is a “Ladder Stairs”. You lean it against a tree… you see, this way you can reach places that you can’t reach.”

“Th-there was such a method! Rasty-san, that’s really amazing!”

“With this, the food we can get will increase a little. I’ll climb up and try to pick some coconuts.”

“Yes, please do your best!”

What I made was a “double telescopic ladder” that could extend to the height of a two-story house. The “coconut tree” in front of me now was not only two stories high, but three stories high – it was comparable to the height of the mansion, but if I extended the ladder, I could easily reach it.

“Oh, this is impressive. Big brother, are you going to climb this?”

“Yes, watch me.”

I put my foot on it and climbed up step by step.

When it’s about halfway up, it gets pretty high, and I feel a little dizzy. …If I were to fall, I would probably break a bone. Let’s be careful and put safety first.

As I climbed up steadily, I finally made it to the top. Oh, what a great view! I can even see beyond the ocean! But more importantly, there were coconuts.

“Rasty-san, how’s the view up there?”

I can hear Skor shouting loudly from the ground.

“It’s an amazing view! I’m going to drop some coconuts, so stay back!”

“Okay!”

After I confirmed that Skor and Havamar have moved away, and I cut off the coconuts with Gale Tulle. Then, several fruits fell. That should be enough.

When I got off the ladder, there were 6 of them on the ground. It worked out well!

“Big brother, big brother! Look, it’s a coconut!”

[Coconut]

[Effect]

Wrapped in a thick and hard shell.

Filled with coconut juice.

“We finally have a new source of food.”

“Yes, I love coconuts~! Skor, could you please open a hole in it with the kitchen knife?”

―― Havamar was so excited. I wonder if it’s really delicious. I’ve never tasted them before, so I have no idea what they taste like.

“Understood. I know how to handle coconuts—here you go.”

Skor deftly stabbed the kitchen knife and made a hole in the coconut. Havamar flips the coconut over and puts it in her mouth. Milky liquid spills out.

She was savoring it, drinking it down with relish.

“Mmm, it’s so delicious!”

“Hey, are coconuts really that delicious?”

“Big brother, try some too!”

I asked Skol to handle it for me.

The fruit was small enough to fit in both hands.

It contains liquid nutritive tissue juice. Anyway, I put it to my mouth. Then, a faint sweetness spreads in my mouth. It’s been a while since I’ve tasted something sweet like this. Thanks to the coconut, my throat is moistened… and it’s delicious.

“This is a luxury drink.”

“That’s right. Moreover, the solid nutritive tissue of coconuts can also be eaten. It’s a versatile fruit with a crunchy texture that is addictive.”2

“Amazing!”

Coconuts are the best!

While I was still in astonishment, Skor was also savoring the coconut. She drank it down like an alcohol lover. It’s so delicious that I guess she couldn’t resist gulping it down.

” ――Puha! Delicious!”

I want Alfred to drink this too. Well, the coconut was a great harvest. Making the ladder was the right decision!
